Title: New to KTC
Post by: jrobbins74 on July 16, 2021, 08:23:56 PM
I have been dip free for 4 days. I was a can a day for 20 years. This is hardest thing I have ever gone through in my life. Does the craving’s ever stop?

The longer you stay quit the easier it will get, it takes time to overcome 20 years of addiction. There is a bright side to it though, if you stay quit you wont have to go through those 4 hard days again.

You're in the October quit group with 6YAR & I: https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=17094

Not sure if you're asleep already, still time to post today, just quote the most recent roll and add your name and day count. Post roll when you wake up every morning, every day.

The pinned post over there has some info and a how to post walkthrough. But let us know if you can't figure it out.

See you in the morning.

I know how tough it can be. I was a 20 yr can to can half a day. First week was very tough. My motivation to never touch the can again. Never want to go through that again. It gets better with time. One day at a time is what I focused on. There are many good people here to help you through. Getting on roll each day is a big help!!

I'm not in AL but I'm here to help if you need it. Doesn't look like you've posted with the October Group yet - but if you're genuinely looking for help, that's the first step.  @zav3nd (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=20384) already gave you the link. Get in there and post roll!

Thanks guys for reaching out. I need to read and figure how everything works on here. Still have not had a dip since Tuesday, July12, 2021. Although I could put a whole can in my mouth right now. Again thanks for all the support.

All you need to know if you wake up, piss, and then post your promise here https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=17094.0 to stay nicotine free for the day. Keep your promise and then repeat the following day. Not hard but yet can be very hard. It also is a huge help to connect with fellow quitters by exchanging digits. We all failed quitting on our own. Isn’t it time to take a different action so you can expect a different result?

This forum is key to success.  Post with your brothers (and maybe sisters in your group) and keep your word.  I was a can a day for about 20 years.  If some weak ass dude like me can do this, you can too.  Yes, the cravings do pass.  In the beginning it seems hopeless - I remember.  Now, it is freedom.  Nothing feels better than winning at something that you think is impossible.  Some of the best people you will ever meet in life are on the forum.  Honest, high integrity, people who care.  If you need anything at all, shoot me a PM.  I was in your shoes bro - you can do this.

Sent you my digits, @jrobbins74 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=20463), but never heard from you. What? You cave? Come back. You ain't the first and won't be the last if you did.

Don't worry about how "everything" works. Here's all you need to know, buddy: Post your promise, and keep it for 24 hours. That's how QUIT works around here. And here's the thing, my friend. IT DOES WORK if you want it to. You're fighting some wicked demons, namely the Nicodemon, but that bitch can be beaten. I know it's hard. Hell, we all do because WE WERE YOU. You post your promise, and then it's up to you to fight the crave, the fog, the rage, all that shit all day. If you are smart, you get digits and you use them to get someone to talk you off of the ledge if you find yourself there.

When you make that promise, it boils down to this: What kind of a man/woman are you? What is your word worth? That's what you have to give people here.

Promise. Word. Oath. Covenant. Call it what you will; it means something here. We're waiting on you to give yours, brother.

@jrobbins74 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=20463) hey man how's it going out there? You still holding down the quit? I hope you're still out there drifting through the fog. Better than going back to the cat turds.

It sucks losing to a dead plant in a plastic can. Hope we are wrong. I wish he would grow a pair and come experience the freedom that comes with being QUIT.

One of the best freedoms from quitting is being able come home from work and being able to kiss the wife hello without have to run to the bathroom and brush my teeth first.

Another good freedom is not having to make sure I have enough dip on the commute home from work, or in the case of covid, having to run out of the house just to get more.

I'm with Bubblehed for sure! Kiss hello, goodbye, good night - any kiss on the lips that doesn't get that "Ew, did you have a dip in?!" reaction is a great kiss!

My wife used to hold both my cheeks into her hands checking for dip before she would kiss me.  Hasn't done that since I quit!
