I might be having a pitty party for myself. I’m finishing day 5 of being quit and I feel like I haven’t made any fucking progress. Everyday is worse than the last. I’m trying my hardest to not snap at an employee or a customer at work but fuck this sucks

Day 27! Holy hell man. That is huge! One thing I did that about fucked me was looking at all the Vets day counts and I thought there is no damn way!! Holy shit how can I do that. I forgot that we promised for TODAY, not next week or next month. Each day got easier and easier and I promised for TODAY ONLY and worried about tomorrow, tomorrow. Fuck tomorrow. I am still in today.

I quit with you EDD
Now that you are day 115, how's it feel now?

The term "progress" when used in conjunction with quitting leads very quickly into a gray zone that may be cause for some frustration. Humor me...

Each one of us has our own expectations when we come here to quit. Some know it's going to be a tough battle while others have some preconceived time frames of when they expect to feel better or when things will get 'easier'. The problem is that each person's quit will be different. For me, I didn't have much fog or headaches but I had strong cravings years into my quit. Other people have extended periods of fog or maybe elevated levels of anxiety. Some quitters really struggle with sleep or appetite while others not so much.

I think that is why here at KTC we push the attitude of 'one day at a time' (ODAAT). Today is all we can control. I would argue that every additional day that nicotine is not allowed into your body is progress. For some people, this progress may be like building with tiny Lego bricks. For others, it may be more like using cinder blocks. But this isn't a race or a competition. We are here to support each other every day as we build and nurture our ODAAT.

So to anyone getting discouraged or frustrated about not seeing "progress", throw out all preconceived notions of what you thought being quit was going to be like and quit for TODAY. The journey of a thousand miles begins with but a single step. And overcoming nicotine is not so much a sprint as a marathon. Find the positives each day and let your quit grow. In no time you will look back and realize just how far you have come.

I was never able to stop more than 21 days before finding KTC. Today I have the honor and privilege to post Day 1,228 (almost 3.5 years). Progress has been made but I know the journey continues!

This right here is pure brilliance...

I’m on day 2 and I feel the same way as you. I haven’t had tobacco in 3 days but tried the nicotine pouches for a day.

You'd be better off chowing down a plate of dog turds to take your mind off dipping. Nicotine is what got you to this point and there's no sense having to quit twice. Time to part ways with that shit. Hundreds of millions of people living without ingesting nicotine every day, you can too.

Look at you, you pity party having snapping at work quitting bastard. I checked your group and you're still sticking in there. You're already up to day 10, twice as far as when you posted this, twice the progress, twice as strong now.

Nicotine has been flushed from your system for 7 days now. The cravings that you're feeling from here on out are just ghosts rattling old chains of addiction, tip your hat to them, tell them they can suck the fattest of dicks as you throw a handful of sunflower seeds in your mouth and get ready to post roll tomorrow morning.

It might not get better but you will! I was whining to my friend Oliver88 and anybody else who would listen. I got two pieces of advice that stuck. 1) Quit Hard! No nicotine replacement therapy. 2) Reach down grab a handful of nutz and do what you have to do. Help is here on this forum if you truely want it. Whining about it won't get you quit!
We can quit for periods of time in many different ways.
KTC offers us a way to stay Quit. Its just that simple.

Hey man the nicotine pouches and gums will just make you a slave to the same beast, cold turkey is tough but your body WILL be thanking you later. I’ve been a little over 3 weeks quit and I still get cravings but it’s much better than to still be throwing money at an addiction. Those nic alternative sources are designed to keep you hooked imo

Hey @Acanady_03, I think folks here will tell you to NOT use nicotine patches as they will ultimately sabotage your quit. We are cold turkey quitters and we don’t even keep holding hands with the Nic Bitch because before you know it she will have you back in the saddle and worshiping her.

I might be having a pitty party for myself. I’m finishing day 5 of being quit and I feel like I haven’t made any fucking progress. Everyday is worse than the last. I’m trying my hardest to not snap at an employee or a customer at work but fuck this sucks

5 days is huge!  The nicotine is out of your system.  Yeah, you've got some rage, but some things are better now.  What are they?

Keep your rage here.  It's therapeutic.  Keep your laptop, phone, or whatever handy so you can express your emotions here.

Your employees and customers are on your side.  They just don't know what you're going through.  You probably don't want to drag them into this.  That's why we're here.

Reach out.  Keep us close.

Good LORD - TALK ABOUT PROGRESS!

5 days is HUGE! Keep it up and keep drinking water. Take it one day at at time and before you know it you'll start piling up days and feeling AWESOME!

Day 5...I’m day 2...I can’t wait to see 5 after my name and be like you! I’m about to snack on some gum seeds and packin’ old bay!
