31 days in. Feel like I'm losing my sense of taste? Is that normal? Thanks brothers
I don't know about 'normal' but certainly understandable.

Everyone is different. I had issues with my vision. I have better than 20/20, but for the first couple hundred days, I would literally see a fog almost all the time. Blury vision on the peripheral. It went away eventually.

Some guys experience headaches, some anxiety or depression, some can't sleep. I don't think your lack of taste is anything to necessarily worry about, but just know this: this is your body healing after how ever many years you poisoned yourself.

I dipped for 29 years. That's a lot of voluntarily addind a poison to my system, and it takes a long time to have your system reset. While the nicotine may leave the body after three days, your central nervous system is trying to un-fuck all the damage that has been done. It takes time.

Remember that the only thing nicotine does for you is relieves the symptoms of quitting. It fixes nothing.

Remember these feelings, too. You don't want to ever go through this again, do you?
^^^^^^^ He speaks the truth!!!! Funny thing my taste buds came alive after I quit and I have larger mid-section to show for it unfortunately.
Mine came on strong too. From like day 35-55, it seemed like my mouth was watering. Really weird. Definitely a "symptom" of healing.

Does anyone have any recommendations for remedies to provide relief from sores on tongue?
Gargle with some salt water. Watch out with all the seeds. Push through it.

In my experience, the sores go away pretty quickly. If they don't (and hang around a week), go see a doctor.

What tools are you using to quit?
Salt water is good, but actually will not help with the pain... this will help heal, but may hurt.

After you do the salt water (which I think is a great idea) you may want to go with some milk. Essentially, go with something that will "coat" your tongue the same way you would if you were eating hot wings.

Welcome by they way... from a fellow Hoosier.

Dear Indiana: I am about 2 weeks ahead of you. The most intense days are over for you, but you still have a tough period to go because it starts to feel like a marathon. Hang in there, one day at a time! Based on my experience, your body is rebalancing, and you may be a few days or a week to getting a good night of sleep.

As far as the mouth sores.... I experiences dry mouth and throat, and a bag of Ricola cough drops was comforting to me.

"The moderators and administrators of this site have received numerous complaints regarding negative, destructive, and/or attacking posts made in several of the quit groups. It has never been the intention of anyone involved with this site to censor or govern what can or cannot be posted on this site. However, we now believe some guidelines are necessary to maintain the integrity and effectiveness of this site.

We take the sanctity of the quit group as being something that a quitter should be able to enjoy and utilize. In our three year existance, each individual group has developed its own personality and coping mechanisms. Outside influences, when constructive and supportive, are and have always been welcome and encouraged. Viciously negative, personal attacking, undermining and destructive posts in quit groups, especially groups "above the line" are not needed and will no longer be tolerated.

We will enforce the same standards regarding the chat room. When a violation of the guidelines or rules are discovered or reported, the post or chat log in question will be reviewed and a determination by a majority of the administrators will be made. Enforcement can include anywhere from a written warning, being placed on moderator review for all posts, to being banned from the site and or chat room.

This does not include holding a quitter accountable for keeping their word to others in the group... (ie.. caves), and the forum "Get Your Bitch On" in the wildcard section.

This decision has been reached unanimously by the adminstrators, who work hard at providing a quality quit site for the people who need it. Our expectations are that you will honor this decision and help us maintain this site where anyone can frequent with the highest level of support while enjoying the greatest level of freedom of expression"
I saw this and thought the same thing MJ.

Then, a number of hours later... It was pulled and doesn't exist anymore.

Why?
it is not pulled. It has been moved to the quit groups section.

Carry on, gentlemen.
Will it have any impact on the HOF roasts? I need to know if, as a roaster, I need to pull the throttles back a hair.
