Welcome shake!!

I want to set the record straight right away. You mentioned you "quit three times before this...". In reality, you STOPPED three times before this. Here at KTC we are QUIT. We give our words each and every day and honor that promise to our fellow quit brother and sisters 24 hours at a time. Through thick and thin, we keep that promise and lean on the tools this site provides to ensure we stay quit that day. One of the most important tools is an accountability network. Begin to use the PM feature to share your digits with your fellow quitters as well as "vets" that have been around this site for a bit. Each person will offer a unique perspective and any question you might have has been experienced by someone else at KTC. Get to know the people you exchange digits with. The more you connect on a personal level, the more meaning your promise assumes each and every day. You aren't making a promise to some inanimate website, you are giving your word on a website to real people that you will not give in to the nic bitch TODAY.

I wish I could speak to the anxiety aspect you mention but unfortunately, I will have to defer to others who have experienced that to offer their advice and suggestions. But it does seem to me that you used your anxiety as an excuse to resume nicotine use. In reality, the nic bitch is crafty and since we are here fighting an ADDICTION, our minds will find any and every excuse to get us back to being a slave to a dead, slimy plant in a plastic can. And if you think your anxiety was high from reading about the cancer stories, imagine what it would be like knowing you got cancer from dipping. Seems to me the best way to help your anxiety would be embrace the fact you are an addict, get involved with KTC and be QUIT one day at a time.

So again, welcome to freedom! Dive in and make posting roll each and every morning a priority. Don't get hung up with the concept of "Forever" and just quit for TODAY.

My Intro
« on: October 25, 2018, 05:28:49 AM »
Howdy, I have been dipping for about 8 years (I think), but I quit on October 15th, 2018. I started with a pouch here or there and dipped a can a day of Grizzly at the end. I previously worked in the golf businesses and then oil & gas, everyone in both of those industries dips, so I followed suit. I have quit three times before but this is the longest I have lasted before, and I feel good about it. I visited this site during my first quit and liked the concept a lot, but I have found that the scared straight method does not work for me. Reading the cancer stories sent my anxiety through the roof, I couldn’t sleep for days and I started convincing myself that I had symptoms that were not there (the mind is a powerful thing). This severe anxiety led me back to the can.. So I’m going to actively try to avoid those pages and use this site for the group support. It’s been 11 days now and I still feel like shit, if that is not a reason to not cave I don’t know what is.
