Thank you both below.  It truly is "one day at a time" for me.  I'm on day 2 and have posted roll as well.

You've got 2 bad ass quitters posting in your intro so far... both know how to win.  Here, you aren't alone.  There isn't anything you are feeling that someone here hasn't, and we aren't here to judge or make excuses... we are here to quit.  What you did for the past few decades is now in the past.  Today, you are quit.

Brother, you will not believe what freedom feels like.  Right now there is a fight going on at a cellular level in your body... but that fight doesn't last forever.  Keep doing what you are doing, and come here for help.  You are giving yourself, and your family, the best gift this season that you can imagine.

Hi All,

Day one of the quit.  I have a ton of Icebreakers ready to be placed between cheek and gum.  I'm 44 and have been dipping at least a can a day since 18.  Let's get this party started!!!!
Grizz,

Can't say it any better than Chris did! Hope we see you in the March 2019 group posting one day at a time. Lean on people here who have been in your shoes, trade digits and text if you need help.
If you want to exchange digits, just send me a PM as well.

I found for me that in the early days of quit, chugging water, having tons of candy and gum on hand (starburst for me) and trying to stay active helped the intense craves. You can do this! Ask for help and stay close to the forum for support one day at a time.

Welcome GrizzlyAdams,

You have made the best decision ever.  I encourage you to go to your quit group and post roll.  Posting roll every day and making your promise not to use nicotine is the price of admission to this forum.  You can find your quit group here:  https://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?topic=793.135

We quit every day, one day at a time.  You will have really sucky days, that is when you will need the help of the brotherhood this site offers.  Exchange digits with other quitters making sure you give them yours as well.  If you are struggling, reach out to one or more of your contacts and they will help get you through it.  I would rather talk to a complete stranger on the phone than put that dead plant back in my mouth, what about you?

That is the basics, you will learn the rest as you go.  Ask as many questions as you like, someone will have the answer because someone has gone through exactly what are or will be going through.

PM me if you would like my gigits.

If you want my digits, just ask and they will be yours, but I expect yours in return.
