Ok so I've been dippin since I was 16 (i am now 19) and every time I quit I turn to cigarettes. I would like to stop it all but also enjoy a nice cigar ever once in a while. Any advice would help!
No cigars. Quitting is all or nothing. In or out. Do or do not.

You can do this.
It is a simple as making a daily DECISION that you will NOT ingest nicotine, no matter what. It will not be easy at first, but the further you get from your first day quit, the easier it will be.
Simple. No.

Can an alcoholic have a beer now and then. No.

You're an addict. Never again, for any reason.

Not too sure this is the right place to post, or right forum. Right now, don't care. Started Cope when I was 9 at the hand of my father, who bought it to quit cigarettes. That was 1977. A can of day minimum, expect while deployed in the Corps, smoked to get by. Also shared dips, and re-cycled. Even recycled shared dips. Whatever until we got more. It was like crack, I guess. I never thought about quitting. I enjoy a fresh dip. I started swallowing the spit in 6th grade so I could dip in class, and have switched back spitting since. I have to sleep with one in, or I can't go to sleep. I decided to quit yesterday, and spit the last dip out at midnight, so it's only been 15 and a half hours, and I'm already losing my mind. I'm determined to follow it through. At 7 bucks a can her in MA, the savings alone is worth the agony of quitting. I asked my wife to help, and deal with me. I don't have any friends that chew, or ever have chewed. Or smoked for that matter. So this is going to be a long road to travel. Let's give it a go.

Learning how to play guitar you "give a go". I tried it once. It was hard, much harder than I thought. It hurt to contort my hand/fingers, the chords pissed me off and the tips of my fingers hurt really bad so I gave it up. No biggie, I'll never know how to play guitar. Bfd.

Quitting chew is kinda similar actually. It harder than you think but if you get discouraged and quit quitting, it is a big fucking deal. You can literally die. I'm not exaggerating when I say that. Tobacco will kill you. Go to words of wisdom and read the Kern Story or most recently Randys Story at the top in bold.

Don't "give this a go". Put your heart and soul into it. Be determined to quit. Quit like fuck is a common expression on this site. Adopt that attitude, lean on your brothers, post roll, and keep active. That's the road to quit. Follow it, don't "give it a go".

This is a special shout out to all my fellow quitters who quit with me everyday, those in Feb 11 and the special new ones that have decided to post with us everyday.

This year has sucked for me, My best friend took his life in June, the day after telling me everything was fine. He was my best friend since 4th grade, college roommate for 4 years and we were bestman in each other's wedding's. How the hell do you recover from that?

Me and My wife are staying very close to his wife and kids. I am still sad but you know what........ I am still quit.

When this all went down in June, I was ready to jump back into it because it was that old comfort zone, cope will make it better! wrong! I stayed strong because of Feb 11 posters.

I say THANK YOU to our Fellowship, thank you to all that post with us, and thank you to my amigos.

I would have caved without you guys. Let's all have a great 2013. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Quitters!
Let's get this resolution thing rolling and get started with something that will save your life.

Nothing like a little clean on a New Years morning.

Let's go men.
Today.

It is the best time to quit. Not because it's New Year's, but because it's better than tomorrow.

You're here. You're reading. Why wait? You've got motivation now.

How many times have you said "just one more day" only to say it again tomorrow, and ultimately another year passes by.

Today.
"We shall not fail or falter; we shall not weaken or tire...Give us the tools and we will finish the job." - Sir Winston Churchill

"Not using gets much easier as time goes by, but the consequences of "just one" never lessen." - Me
