Title: Posting roll from an I phone.
Post by: Breathoffreshair on June 28, 2020, 07:15:03 PM
Hey guys I’m new here. I just quit Friday was my first dip free day along with caffeine and alcohol. Needless to say I feel like trash but am doing it for me and my family and friends. I had oral surgery Friday and told my dentist I was done with dip and soda. Does anyone know which roll I should post to and if it can be done on a phone or do I have to do it on my computer. Thanks

Welcome @Breathoffreshair (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=17922)! You’ll be posting in the October 2020 Quit Group. We count the first day we quit as Day 1, so you should be posting Day 4 tomorrow morning on roll. Look forward to see you post first thing tomorrow morning.  I post roll on iPhone everyday. Shouldn’t run into any problems but if you do feel free to reach out. I have to admit I was somewhat of a skeptic at first, but this site works. I’m only on day 49 and there’s no way I could have possibly quit that long on my own. Take it one day at a time “ODAAT” and you can’t fail if your mind is made up

Welcome to KTC. You've got balls quittin' all three at once, but you can do it! The lone quitter in the October group will be glad to have some company, so get on in there and post up. Make that promise, buddy, and stay quit!

Glad to see you post that day count tonight BOFA (my new nickname for you).  Awesome!  Day 5!  Great job!  You probably just figured out you can post from either your phone or your computer.  No real difference.  Feel free to keep posting your thoughts and raves on this Introduction thread.  And keep posting that promise daily in October 2020.  You are no longer quitting alone.

We actually have a section (scroll down) called "Getting My Act Together" and there are active threads on "Caffeine Quit Group" and two on alcohol, "Alcohol Quit Group" or "Alcohol Slow Down."  Feel free to post your promises there too.

Welcome!

Hey thanks man. It’s been rough. Today is the first day since surgery I can actually eat solid food. I can only chew on one side of my mouth. It’s been tough not having nicotine. I find myself doing my normal routines craving it and realizing I don’t have it or need it and it’s not that I really want it now it’s just a habit I’m breaking. I used to plug both sides up top and bottom when I get home from work then take a big haul off a Jim beam. today when I got home it hit me that I don’t do that any more and I have time for something else. I really miss caffeine too cause it was my morning wake up before. I’d have an energy drink or soda everyday on the way to work and use the van as a mud jug. Now I don’t. It’s weird. Lots of people around me dip and it makes it so much harder too. I’ve told my wife I’ll back her up if she quits too. We’ll see.

I have made it my first week quit nicotine free. This quit has gone much better than other attempts I think. I tried patches once before and they gave me nightmares and made my skin crawl. Cold turkey worked for a few days several times but being around it all the time made it almost impossible. I’m still around it now but after $15 grand of dental work it doesn’t make a lick of sense. I’ll say that this quit is much harder than smoking. I used to smoke 2 packs a day and gave it up pretty easily then a year later picked up dip till I was easily a 2-3 can a day guy. So cold turkey had me feeling like death the first few days along with no Caffeine and no more night cap I felt depressed the first 4 days. Then a dog was lifted I emerged from my house and felt so much more energized and not tied down to bringing a fresh can and a soda and an empty can to spit in. I just grab my keys phone wallet put them in my pockets and go. So here’s to one week and many more to come. Happy Independence Day weekend y’all.
