Title: Day 2
Post by: RonnieAdams on June 30, 2020, 11:16:29 AM
Hey all. My name is Ronnie and I am on day 2 of quitting dip. I’ve dipped for, probably, almost 20 years. On and off at some points, but it’s been there for that long. I’m trying to clean some stuff up in my life and this is the first step. I’m doing ok, but I know it’ll probably get worse. I do have a question though. Since I stopped, for 2 days, I’ve had a tightness in my face. Is that normal?

Welcome, Ronnie. To answer your question, yes, that's normal. You're going to experience all sorts of physical symptoms of withdrawal. The best thing you can do is read the What to Expect for New Quitters in the main forum. The First 100 days are going to be a roller coaster of physical, mental, and emotional shitstorms. Drink plenty of water, try to stay away from caffeine as much as possible, and fight the urge to cave. 1 Problem + Nicotine = 2 Problems.

Now, get on over to the October 2020 Quitters Roll Forum and post your daily promise to remain nicotine free for today. That's how we do it here at KTC: ODAAT - One Day At A Time. Don't just post and ghost, though. Get involved with your fellow quitters. Accountability is first at KTC. You'll get the support you need through accountability.

You are an addict, and you are among addicts. We all know what you're going through. I'm 124 days quit after 25 years of dipping and smoking, but every day is Day 1.

Stay strong, and Stay Quit!

Hey @RonnieAdams (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=17941)  !  Like GS said, you will experience all kinds of physical changes in the next days, weeks and (sorry, but - ) months to come.  It's normal - it is healing.  You are doing great, be proud of that day 2 - most people can't accomplish it.  But you are missing out on a lot of support by not going over to October 2020 RIGHT NOW and posting your name, day count and promise to not use.  Every day.  Make that promise, build a support network.  Use the tools available.  It will be the best thing you ever did for your quit.
