Hey all!

Been lurking the past week, and finally decided it was time to get in here and get some advice and give some if I can!

I’m 29 yrs old, been chewing since I was 17. First Cope Wintergreen then Cope Mint. Decided to quit cold turkey 6 days ago. It’s been hell. I almost dug my half a tin I threw out 6 days ago out of the garbage this morning.

Cheers, hope the best to you all!

Hiya Lofty,

Welcome to the site.  First off, congratulations for making the best decision you could possibly make for yourself.  Secondly, It is tie for you to go and post your daily promise in your quit group.  You are in the March 2019 Pre-HOF Quit Group.  Just click the title and it will take you there.

Posting Roll every day is the price of admission here.

WUPP

1. Wake Up
2. Piss
3. Post
4. Keep your word and come back the next day and do it again.

We quit one day at a time.  24 hours is all you have to promise not to use nicotine for and then you come back and post your promise for another 24 hours.

Exchanging digits(phone numbers) with other members of your group and some vets is vital in building your network of accountability and brotherhood.  The more numbers you have available to you the stronger your quit wall is.  Use those numbers to reach out if you are struggling.  Someone will answer and will help you.  Be sure to reciprocate with your number as well.  Accountability is a two-way street..

So are you ready to quit??  Get on over to March and Post up.  PM me if you would like my digits.

I quit with you today.

Chris
And thirdly, dispose of that cancer-can-containing-garbage IMMEDIATELY.  Keeping any nic within reach, for any reason, is a terrible decision for a quitter.  Congrats on your decision, many here quit with you today!

If you want my digits, just ask and they will be yours, but I expect yours in return.

That's why we recommend flushing the contents of your can down the toilet, and rinsing out the can.

Welcome.

https://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?topic=793.0 That's a link to your March Quit Group. Go there, and learn to post roll. Posting roll is a promise made to ourselves, everyone in our Quit Group, and everyone posting support that we will not use nicotine in any form for the rest of the day. Post roll early every day, and you have protected yourself from a cave.

Exchange digits with some of the guys here. You can have mine, just send me a PM. Use those digits to reach out in case of emergency. It's been said that before you can cave, you need to get permission via text from three of your quit brothers. I don't know of a single time permission to cave has been given.

If you've been quit six days, you are already through the worst of it. The nicotine is out of your system, and it's all a matter of a head game now. Nicotine is relentless, and will keep trying to mind fuck you into caving. Again, make your promise, keep your word. It's that simple. Hard as hell, but simple.

Proud to be quit with you.
