Title: * MB289's HOF Speech
Post by: mb289 on June 19, 2014, 05:50:00 AM
ItÂ’s been 100 days since I quit chewing tobacco and IÂ’ve reached HOF! I started chewing when I was 20. I was offered some Skoal from a friend in a bar one night and I never stopped. In college I was using about 3 cans per week and by 30 I was a can a day user. I finally quit February 16 at 53 years old. Folks thatÂ’s 33 years of addiction and stupidity! I tried to quit many times over the years, but was not successful. I truly believed I would never stop chewing.

I accidentally found KTC while searching for ways to quit. I spent about two hours reading KTC and made the decision I was doneÂ…forever! Being quit has been one of the hardest things IÂ’ve ever done. The rage, fog and general feelings of loss during the first few weeks was amazing. I never realized how addicted I was to nicotine and how much it affected me over the years. I am certain I would still be chewing if I had not found KTC. For me to be quit, I needed to be held accountable for my actions, which is what I got from KTC. To all those of KTC and especially of Mayhem, thanks for the support you provided. I am proud to call myself a KTC Quitter!

Now, itÂ’s on to day 200 and freedom from the can forever!
