Couch - I don't have a PM from you requesting a phone number. I don't see you on the September roll. You've been back to the site after we've all offered our help.

Are you ready to quit or what? What's stopping you?
Did someone get all butthurt and flee?
Someone that hard core would have been a real asset around here.
Maybe I scared him off with all my talk of quitting...

The above bad ass quitters have laid out the truth for you... Read everything on KTC and educate yourself about nicotine addiction and quitting KTC style. The KTC plan works if you work the plan. Sounds like you are ready; this site can be the difference. PM me if you need anything.

I've quit before, in that I had a year dip free until September of 2013. Then, my will took over and I started dipping on average a can a day.
Those two sentences show a fundamental misunderstanding of your problem.
Back when you stopped for that year, it wasn't your "will" that caused you to start again. It was your lack of will.
The nic bitch took that year from you, and you let her. Time to sack up, or you will fail again. Meet some people here, and find out what "will" is.

Couch, take this fear and make it your last and final quit. Do it one day at a time like we all do, post roll daily like we all do, buy in to this site 100% and be quit with us. We can be grouchy fucks sometimes, but at the end of the day all we care about is that you, I and the KTS did not use nicotine today. Rinse and repeat tomorrow. Join us and enjoy the freedom.

Welcome Couch! If you're serious about quitting you're definitely in the right place. Here at KTC we quit like fuck a day at a time, together.

You're story is almost exactly mine. I stopped chewing on my own and failed, when I started again I thought I would turn to Skoal mint bandits, they'll be less harmful for me. An addicts insane mind. I've been free from the bondage of alcohol for 520 days. I regularly attend meetings, meet with my sponsor, and do whatever I'm told to do in order to maintain my sobriety. It's not much different here. The road to recovery on KTC is a little different but the concepts are the same. You'll regularly visit the forums, meet up with us (live chat, PMs, texts, phone calls) and surrender to nic as you did alcohol. My definition of surrendering is to do it someone elses way, the KTC way in this case. Our best thinking and doing it our way is what got us to AA and to KTC. So listen to what we have to say, and just simply do it. Stop fighting, the battle is over, freedom from nic is here for you to take.

Here's how I did it:

Read over the welcome center:
forum/55560/

Post roll everyday, early in the morning (no excuses here), wake up early and do it. Your quit group will be September. That's your promise to us and to yourself that you're going to stay quit for the day (24 hours). Honesty is everything, to us and to yourself.
There's even a video in the "How to Post ROLL CALL", click the "PC How to post roll" link.

Start gathering phone numbers and build your web of accountability. We will hold you accountable for your quit, and we expect you to hold us accountable as well. Actually text and/or call those numbers you get in good and bad times. Build your brotherhood.

Live Chat is a good place to connect, get numbers, shoot the shit...

Lastly, start drinking a shit load of water. Every time you walk by the pisser you should have to use it. It'll be about 3 days before the nic flushes out of your system. It's going to be a shitty 3 days too. Remember these 3 days of withdraw and how terrible they are. Keep telling yourself you will never have to do this again.

Get yourself some seeds, candy, gum, whatever eases you. Fake dip can help too.
http://www.killthecan.org/your-quit/smo ... ernatives/

Smokey Mountain is prolly most common. Most walmarts, or grocery stores have it behind the glass where the other cans of poison are.

If you can promise to keep the poison out of your face today I'll be happy to quit with you.
Send me a PM if you want a phone number to start your web.

Welcome aboard. If you're totally serious about this...you have found the right place. Go to the Welcome Center, learn how to post roll and read EVERYTHING here about how you have been nicotine's bitch for many years. Time to make nicotine your bitch now.

My challenge for you is to post roll every day, especially after that canker sore is gone. Ol' Leo here has a wheelbarrow load of canker sore quits in his past. Canker sore faded...so did the quit.

Don't quit because you're scared. Quit because you are done with every moment of your life revolving around the next nicotine fix. Quit because you are ready to be free at last.

Send me a pm if you want contact info. We lean on each other here. I'll quit with you today.

Welcome! Since you "quit" yesterday and will still be "quit" after going to the oral surgeon, please go to Pre HOF Roll Call September 2014 and post roll.

You didnt quit before. You merely stopped for a year. If you had "quit" you wouldnt have started back. Im sorry Im not good at posting in the Intros. If you want me to post you to roll until you get familiar with it, I will.

3 words here: Accountability + Brotherhood = Success. I will hold you accountable like my life depends on it.

We quit hard. No excuses. We post roll as our promise not to use early and we keep that word all day. We honor roll. We hold each other accountable. We quit only one day at a time (ODAAT). We deal with tomorrow then.

Welcome.

Yesterday was my last dip.
« on: May 31, 2014, 04:13:00 PM »
Hello folks! I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this place. After the start of a canker sore yesterday, in an area where I don't usually dip, I decided enough is enough of this crap. Anyway, just to be safe I'm going to try to get into the doctor's on Monday to be sure. With that said, below is a little background:

I'm in recovery for another addiction, alcohol. I've been sober since 1.2.2011. I've been addicted to nicotine in some form or anther since I was 17. I quit smoking in 2009 but started dipping in 2005ish. While I don't think this matters much, I pretty much have always used Skoal Pouches of some flavor or another. I generally used it to help stop smoking and really became addicted to dip afterwards.

I've quit before, in that I had a year dip free until September of 2013. Then, my will took over and I started dipping on average a can a day.

I'm tired of this. I'm tired of the fear of getting oral cancer. I'm tired of having to always have a can with me. I'm just sick and tired of it all.

Thanks for reading this.
