Title: I want to quit.. Day 1
Post by: Brandon2904 on October 13, 2019, 03:04:25 AM
Hi everyone!  My name is brandon I am 29 I've been dipping regularly since I was 15. I tried quitting a few years ago but didn't really go into it fully committed.  Now I have my mind set on quitting.  The bad news is I'm only on day 1. I could really use some tips at how to make it a little easier if there is such a thing.

Listen to the Vets on this board....research and read...I plowed down the reading patch after clicking on @Athan (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=258) signatures, then pouring over @oldschool (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1411) posts to @wildirish317 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1073) posts.  Post your promise everyday and message us with your phone number so we can be there in a time when your brain is trying to give you reasons for the nic.  The biggest thing I can tell you is that when you wake up everyday...just tell yourself no nic today or ever...there is no reason for it...you were not born with it in your system therefor you do not need it.  Keep your quit going ONE DAY AT A TIME.  I quit with you today @Brandon2904 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=15769) .

Hey @Brandon2904 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=15769), looks like JS has already provided you with some great advice. To add to that, when you are early in your quit, just remember that it’s going to be hard as hell, but it does get much easier with time. Sometimes you will just be taking one moment at a time and overcoming that moment, push through it, until all those moments add to a day, then take it one day at a time. Also, your quit will be much stronger if you reach out to folks via Personal Message (PM) and share your phone #, which may sound nutty, but promise it’s nothing to be concerned about (I have around 40 KTCers). You will find in short order that the brother/sisterhood built through the use of these digits will help others and strengthen your quit. Glad to be quit with you and feel free to reach out via PM if you need anything - the next week will be hell, hang in there...

Hey @Brandon2904 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=15769) congratulations on your decision to quit. It took me like 4 attempts to post roll right so good job there to.
Drink lots of water on your first days and reach out to some people and check out some Dip alternatives on the main site. The next few months are gonna be hell but it gets better.

Great job posting. We quit only for today. Wake up, piss, post )WUPP) every damn day (EDD) and then just keep you word to stay nic free. Exchange digits with fellow quitters only through personal messages, not on the forum, and them work on developing those relationships. It isn’t about the number of relationships but it is about the quality. Those brothers and sisters will go along way in helping you stay quit. The process at KTC works if you follow the program. Great job making the decision to quit @Brandon2904 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=15769) . It will suck for a while and then it gets better. Take it ODAAT.

Great advice already, I can't improve upon it, but wanted to congratulate you on making a great decision and to welcome you to KTC!

If you find yourself in a cave - DO something about it. Reach for a brother not a can! PTBQWYT!

Welcome brother. I’m on day 3 and still going strong. One tip that I can give you is to visit this site daily. Post roll, read other’s success stories. Just knowing that we are all in this together makes the challenging parts worth beating. I’m rooting for you man! Stay strong.
