Title: day 3/9
Post by: Shutupanfish on July 27, 2020, 05:37:45 PM
9 days into the guit, 3 days nic free AND JUST A FUCKING RAGE MONSTER AT THIS POINT. Bout 1 more dirty look from my wife or smart ass look from her kids before i leave them all.  Seriously this shit has me looking to move out, not that i had a great marriage before but this last week i have really grown to hate her and my step kids.  Just spent a shit ton of cash on CBD oil an candies which my wife was quick to point out as stupid but i was recommended to by a trusted friend, supposedly it helps with the rage and depression so will see i guess. Kinda out of options here on how to handle my life an what i really want. I do know i want this fucking monkey off my back, shits way to expensive now

@Shutupanfish (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=18124)
If 7-25 was your first day nicotine free, then you are in the Nov 2020 quit group. Here is the link to start posting roll daily and claim your freedom https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=15852.0. However lets get a few things straight. You are 3 days into your quit as you are 3 days nicotine free. Also, I’m not a marriage counselor, but it is not her or her kids fault  that you are having Issues with your quit. Don’t take it out on them. Come here, vent, scream, yell. We can take it. We can take it and a lot of us have done the exact same thing. A few suggestions: wake up, piss, and post your promise to stay nicotine free for the day. Keep your word and then repeat the process the following day. Quit one day at a time. Thinking about quitting in the future or forever can be too much and cause anxiety. Just focus on today. We will deal with tomorrow when it gets here. Drink a ton of water, exercise a little, have some gum, seeds or fake nicotine free dip to use as a substitute. I use Smokey Mountain at times. Try to get a little extra rest. You know longer that the rush from the nicotine giving you extra energy. There are other things that will help like accountability and brother/sisterhood, but lets get you on roll first. If I can help just shoot me a message. You can do this and we are here to help.

@Shutupanfish (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=18124)  I hope we didn’t scare you away. Keith is 100% correct and it looks you might need some other help. You quitting is not going to help your situation at home but this quit is for you not them. You started yourself on this addiction ride they didn’t. You need to admit that your addiction is your problem and your problem to fix. No matter how bad you feel physically or mentally this is on you. There is no need to take it out on them so you need to find the patience and guts to take your quit on for yourself or you will not make it. I hope and pray you don’t disappear as we want people to beat their addiction but it requires 110% from you. If you need anything we are here, all you need to do is ask.

I was there, buddy, with the rage, that is. I already had some quick temper issues before I quit, and the first few weeks of mental and physical withdrawals damn sure didn't help. I did have to remind myself that my wife and kids had nothing to do with my addiction or my decision to quit, so I had to channel that rage somewhere else and learn to control it. The shit will pass. Now, it will come back, too, but not as bad as what you're dealing with right now.

I had to do some apologizing, and you might, too. Get the fake stuff. By day 4 of a cold turkey quit, the nicotine should be out of your system. It won't be out of your head, though, and that's where the real battle is fought. If you are a fisherman as your name implies, you know all about how much patience it takes to fish. How much perseverance it takes to cast your line over and over until you get that strike. How much frustration builds when you get hung up on a log or a bass wraps your line around a dock pole three or four times. Yet you deal with it, and you keep fishing.

Guess what. You're gonna need that patience...with yourself and with others who may or may not know what you're dealing with right now. You're gonna need that perseverance...to keep quitting one day at a time, even when that shit gets hard. And you're gonna need to channel that frustration...because it's not going anywhere for the time being, so cowboy the fuck up, focus your energy ODAAT, and stay quit. Gonna send you a PM with my digits. Use them when you need to.

Shutupanfish, these guys ^^^ knocked it out of the park. You have to do the work, it's going to be tough, don't take it out on family, know how to control yourself. But the thing that might have gotten missed is that all of this is so worth it. Your freedom is worth it. Not having to run to the c-store at 10pm on a Friday because you're out is so worth it. EVERYTHING is better without nicotine, but nicotine won't let you believe that. Get the mindset: nicotine is bad, your reaction is for you to deal with, in the end all will be right in your world if you can just focus on quitting via Wake Up Piss Post (WUPP) Every Damn Day(EDD). Being quit is as easy as that, but also as hard as that: you have to decide every day "Am I still quit, or am I shoving that shit in my mouth again?" I know which answer works for me. Can you commit to the quit? You seem to be doing well so far, let's keep it going. Stay strong, stay quit!

Damn, man that's good to hear!  Buddy, don't try to do this alone! There is no need when you have an army of quitters who have your back. Each one of us here needed help - and still do - at some point in our quits. You've done it the Sure As Hell Hard Way for 6 days. Now, do it the KTC Hard Way One Day At A Time.
