It just keeps getting better. Thanx for all the support the last 800 days, you all know I needed it

Has it really been 800 days?  It seems like just yesterday I was supporting you at 799 days.  Man how time flies.

Brother Franx,

Been a long 396 days for me, with what I thought was an abnormally difficult year. But you have taken life head on with grace and patience. And now you are hopefully seeing the sunrise in the distance.

Your imprint on this community is undeniable. Your strength is incredible to witness. Thank you for helping me (and countless others) fight the good fight.

Thanx brother, I just spend my time here trying to give back what I received when I was early in my quit. ETA: screw the Bruncos and Horseface Elway!

Can't say it was a glorious win for the Browns, but it goes in the W column for sure, going to be a tough next couple weeks though. @Ralphie51 (?) assures me that the Browns can pull off a couple upsets still here in the first half of the season so I am eager to see what they can do
If you OBJ can stay consistent....and jesus I can't believe I'm saying this. But if obj plays to his potential. The browns can be in the playoffs

777/288 111 weeks of ODAATEDD!

Lets just all hope the BROWNS are as lucky as my day count tonight in kicking the crap out of the Jets!
HERE WE GO BROWNIES, HERE WE GO! thats for you brother @Samrs

On a more serious note, Anne has her second surgery on Wed around noon this week. This should be the last surgery for at least 10 years (the life expectancy of the new "permanent breast implants." We are hoping as this is an outpatient procedure that her recovery will be quicker and less painful that the double mastectomy was back in April. That one had her wiped out for nearly 3 months.

Watching some of these new badass quitters is giving me fresh quit wood on a daily basis, too many to name but keep on keeping on folks. WUPP ODAATEDD is how we make the quit world go around

756/267 108 weeks of freedom!

Just like 2 weeks ago, spending time with the pre-hof groups.
Seeing a lot of late posts, and some missed days.
This does not bode well early in a quit.
Plenty of late posters in the ABQ and plenty of missed days from those same people, but they are all over 2 years quit now.
Does not stop me from making sure I WUPP, but if they stay quit even with late posting, staying quit is the name of the game at this point.
Those pre-hof groups though need to build that routine, take the time first thing in the morning to make that promise. Just as early if not earlier than the first dip of the day used to be.
Without that routine, complacency will slip in and nicotine may well own them again shortly.

I am constantly amazed at the addict mind. The sheer volume of people who wind up here at KTC that think they know how to do what we do better than the program already in place. Make connections, make your promise early, keep your damn word. Its not a hard system once you have made the decision to quit for yourself. Making that choice is the tough part, staying quit just takes making a promise and keeping your word. Once you have made your promise, do anything it takes to keep your word. Do anything else besides consuming nicotine.

Wake
Up
Piss
Post(and keep your damn word)
Every
Damn
Day
Really doesn't get any simpler if you are a man or woman of your word that actually wants to be quit.
Stop trying to quit and just QUIT

Been a couple days since being in here after hitting 2 years. The road trip last month has had me chewing on toothpicks pretty much all day every day for a month now after having pretty much forgotten about them.
2 years is nothing compared to semi regular use and abuse for 34 years, I'm still not cured and will not ever be.
Still would like to find a new normal which seems to change every couple months
Been spending more time in the pre-HOF groups to remember what the early days were like. Man I do not ever want to be in week one again. So i make that promise daily as soon as I can. Not in the middle of the afternoon when I think of it. First thing because it is the first thing I think about, just like my first dip of the day used to be what I woke up thinking about.
I keep seeing it and saying it over and over in the new groups: "Get numbers, make contact, find out who you are quitting with. Calling a friend for help is easier than just calling whatever number you find in your phone"
Glad to say that I took that advice early on and make use of those numbers.
Just trying to reinforce these thoughts for myself and anyone who chooses to read and/or respond

Thanks for that bro.  I've been having trouble wanting to stay involved here as of late.  But scared to leave because of what you just described.  It's a conundrum.
A conundrum rolled up in an enigma?
Thank You for sharing 69Franx.  I still have many of my initial withdrawal symptoms frequently.  Lately, I have been praying for a new normal.   I have had this thought that by 2 years the worst would be over and normal would be the norm.  Strangely I find not only sadness but comfort knowing that it might not ever end....
Like I have said earlier in here somewhere, I essentially used my entire adult life. I'm not really sure I know or would even recognize "normal." I am getting by, and loving the freedom, but there are still plenty of times when a dip sounds like just the thing (to the addict Frank, I know better now, but he pops up every once in a while)

'Bow' 2 Bad Ass Years for a Bad Ass Quitter
CONGRATULATIONS FRANK  'Bow'
If you want my digits, just ask and they will be yours, but I expect yours in return.

Accountability is a statement of personal promise, both to yourself and to the people around you, to deliver specific defined results.
Brian Dive

Do not be complacent about your achievements and not to strive for continual improvement when you get to the top. As soon as you let success go to your head, you sink into following familiar patterns and play it safe. In other words, you risk losing your edge.
Roy T. Bennett

You need anything, ask.  You feel strong, help.  This quit is for you but we got your back.

Do not let the actions of others determine the direction of YOUR quit.
