Title: Day 1
Post by: DRAZZANO11 on January 22, 2021, 08:32:48 PM
Good Evening KTC Crew,

My name's Dominic, I'm 27 years old from central NJ and I've decided I want to quit chewing for good. It's been about an hour and a half since my last lip. I've quit for years and started back up again a few months ago. I have no excuse and nothing/nobody to blame but myself, but thinking logically about it I would say being out of a job due to covid/having way too much down time hasn't helped. Regardless, I feel terrible most of the time from it and get anxious/stressed way too easily, I've woken up heart racing and had a full on panic attack thinking I was having a heart attack. My workouts are suffering which kills me because working out at the gym is one of my favorite things to do. My gums are torn up, and the 1 out of 10 times where it hits the spot are just not worth it anymore. I've had enough. I'm ready to detox, to amp up my exercising to sweat all this toxic waste out of me, to use seeds/gum/whatever I need as a crutch. Any tips & tricks from the veterans in here would be much appreciated. And anyone who's a rookie and needs someone to relate to about how much this fucking blows feel free to reach out. Here goes nothing, don't be shy to reach out!

Welcome to KTC, @DRAZZANO11 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=19137). We're glad you decided to take your life back. Now, get on over to the May 2021 quit group (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=16907.0) and be the first member to post your promise to be quit for the rest of the day. Then come back tomorrow and do it again. And the next day do the same thing. Promise. Repeat.

That's how it's done here, Dominic - ODAAT - One Day At A Time. Do yourself a huge favor and READ EVERYTHING you can on this site. Drink plenty of water and focus on staying quit for 24 hours at a time. Use whatever fake stuff you need as long as it's nicotine and tobacco free. Eat the seeds. Chew the gum. Hit the gym hard. And make your promise each day.

You're gonna get a lot of good advice from vets and newbies alike. We've all been where you are now. The cool thing is, we're all where you are now - KTC. We'll break your ass down to hold you accountable and help keep you quit by holding you to your word. The equation is simple: Brotherhood + Accountability = Success.

I've given you the link to freedom. Use it. Follow the directions for posting, and don't worry if it's not perfect. Somebody will fix it, and you'll get the hang of it. Day 1 is today, Dominic.

Welcome to life without nicotine.

Hey man. I was catching up on my site reading and saw your post. I didn't see your name/promise with the May group. Do you need any help? Getting started is the hardest part and the most important step to recovery. You want to do this for you. If you have any questions feel free to reach out.

Apologies for the delay. Sad to say shortly after my first post I relapsed as I've done 1000 times before. However, yesterday on Feb 1st I went the entire day without chewing and still going strong. Day 2 and feeling good so far. Yea to be honest this forum is quite confusing so might need a little help getting acclimated. Thank you guys for reaching out/making yourselves available.

@DRAZZANO11 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=19137)    follow this link to your may group.  This is where you will post your daily promise to not use nicotine.  If your last dip was on Feb 1, this is day 2 for you.  If you last dip was Jan 31, then this is day 3.

I have been there, in the shoes you are wearing right now, and I am going to tell you how to beat this. My biggest piece of advice, without you asking, is to get your mind straight and just say to yourself you are done. The 1st 14-21 days really suck getting over the physical addiction and after that is is just head games and they get less and less over time. You have to really want this though for it to stick. Whatever excuse you have used in the past to cause you to cave in you have to finally say no more and get through that 5 minutes (however long) to get through the crave and keep leaning forward away from this addiction.

The good news is you can beat this. Trust me you can easily do this but you have to really want it. Not a semi I kinda want to quit this shit like some of theses other fools on this site who are just going through the motions but you have to really want to stop. You know this crap is slowly killing you right? You have your reasons for you to quit. I am going give you one eye opening reason. Take 2 minutes to read this story and if that doesn't motivate you then you aren't ready to quit and you will just be wasting your time. Start at the bottom and scroll up as you read

https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=198.0

I am there to help you if you want it. If you take this step and need some to bitch to about how it sucks or that you on a verge of caving and you need someone to talk you down from the ledge I am there to help you get through this. I will gladly offer my mobile number to you for texting or calling if that gets you to quit. The truth is this site has a ton of guys/gals like me that will support you so I am no one special. Though I am offering you the hand to get up and away from this addiction if you want to take it.

You know what the right thing to do and just do it. Stop the madness. Get serious and get ready to do the real work to quit. This time it will be different if you stay strong and hold the line.
