Title: Enough is enough
Post by: c_mac on September 17, 2012, 01:15:00 PM
I was offered a promotion Friday and actually hesitated because I knew that it would mean that I'd be in meetings most of the day. More meetings means that I cannot have a dip in all of the time.
Time to kick the can to the curb! I dip about 2 cans a day and have been dipping for 27 years...this is going to suck!!

Great decision!

It is going to suck, I won't lie about that.

But one thing I won't do is wish you luck because quitting is not about luck at all. Its about making a decision to be done. Once you decide its over, nothing will take you back to the can. Only you can make that decision.

You will find that this site is loaded with the best quitters and quit advice that money can buy. But its free. There isn't a better deal on this planet.

Welcome, reach out to anyone here if you need help.

Welcome aboard! Yes it will suck, but it WILL be worth it!! I dipped for 25yrs at a can and a half a day. If I can do it, so can you!

Title: Intro on Day 3
Post by: c_mac on August 22, 2016, 06:39:00 PM
As you can see from my profile, I tried this before. I only made it a couple days last time...this time is different. I'm so fucking done being a slave to the can. Quit smoking in 1991 by using this and haven't been able to quit it since. I was chewing 2 cans a day and couldn't be in a 1 hour meeting without getting anxious for that next dip.

Had the fog bad the first 2 days, but wasn't grumpy. That started last night and hasn't let up! Poor wife, but she is with me on this.

Thanks for the support. This site is great.

C_mac,
KTC Love: I am glad you are ready and I have failed on KTC and each day I earn back the trust of my fellow quitters. It is hard but worth it.
KTC Tough: You need to dig down deep and figure out why you caved after a couple days last, you obviously didn't follow any advice and guidance here. What is going to be different this time? Until you figure this out, you will only fail yourself again.

Idaho Spuds - let's get it done, show us what you got?

c-mac, glad you've decided to quit for real here.

You only posted roll once in 2012, but you still need to answer questions and develop a plan to make you successful this time around. The process here is to answer 3 questions :1) What Happened 2) Why did it happen 3) What will you do differently this time?

You need to answer those to your new quit group. Finding support on this site is contingent on that. The process is not meant to harass you, but to help you develop a plan to be successful, as your last attempt was obviously not.

Glad you decided to be be brave and start this quit all over again.

I quit ten years ago and it lasted for 9 months. Then I used some family issues as a reason to start back up. My brother told me I would never stay quit and I allowed that to influence me.

I finally got tired of the habit. I saw my actions were not changing whether I quit or not and then realized it was time to give the nic bitch up.

It is hard for me to believe but I am at day 346. I waited until I was 59 to really quit.

Keep your mind focused on anything but the quit. Exercise to get rid of the jitters and to combat sleeplessness. Drink OJ or some other fruit juice to replace the sugars that were released in your brain when you used to dip.

I quit with you today.

I quit with November 2016 Swarming Hornets. Shit has kind of gone sideways this year, and I was checking in because my quit is in jeopardy. Things seem way too complicated now. Am I wrong?

@c_mac (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1173)  here is the link to your group https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=32.0. Suggest you get active again. Assume you still have digits of fellow quitters - use them. If you don’t pm me and we can share digits.

@c_mac (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1173) I challenge you to take some time to become familiar with the forum now. It's actually incredibly simple and user friendly. You mentioned your quit being in jeopardy. Things probably seem complicated since your addict brain is trying to find a way to rationalize caving (perhaps) by trying to convince you the site is too different/difficult to master.

HAG gave you the link to your continued freedom. Follow the link, find the most recent roll post, hit quote on the top right corner or the most recent roll post, add your name, count and promise and hit post. Glad you found your way back. Get active again and stay active. Protect your quit.

The original introduction thread from 2012 should be merged into this one.

https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=7089.0 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=7089.0)

It doesn't seem like @c_mac (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1173) ever learned the basic formula here.  Brotherhood + Accountability = Success.  Someone who is accountable would be active here and would keep up with changes to the forum.  Hope the hornets can keep c_mac on track.
