I'm not sure what the roll call or day 1 is, I found the stories very true to life.  I was foggy today thinking wise.  I've been going for without for 5 days (ok 3 really) on day 2 I split a 4mg lozenge with a pill cutter.  Used it for about 5 min then spit it out.  During the 5 min I remembered I read that the nic was out of my system after the first day.  I don't know just rambling....

Roll call is where we post our daily promise not to use nicotine for the next 24 hours.  WUPP (Wake Up, Piss, Post)  means post early in the day, if you are a man of your word, then that promise will mean everything to you throughout the day.  Posting early takes nicotine off the table for the day.

Every quit group is set up so that all those quitters reaching 100 days quit in a row, will all reach it in the same calendar month.  Yours would be February 2019.  I sent you a link in your private messages along with my phone number.

The site works on Brotherhood and Accountability.  The more time you can spend on the site reading and responding to post by other members, posting your own thoughts, etc., the more the brotherhood will come in to play.  Guys will start to get to know you and you them.  Exchanging digits is the another great way to build your brotherhood.  Now you have a live person you can talk to or text and build relationships.  Exchanging digits also is a big part of the Accountability.  If you are struggling, you can reach out to one of your brothers for help.  If you forget to log in and post your promise in timely manner, someone will be contacting you to make sure you are okay and to get you on roll for the day.

So follow that link I gave you, get on roll for today.  Your day one is the last day you put nicotine into your mouth.  So the nic lozenge sounds like its your day 1.

Feel free to call or text me if you any other questions I can answer for you.

If you want my digits, just ask and they will be yours, but I expect yours in return.

Hi REM,

I am only 37 days into my Quit.  I still have days that feel like day 3.  I still have cravings every day and most of the time they are the same time of the day.  I know they are coming, and I know I have to nut up and push through.  I used dip to counteract a lot of the stress in my life.  I have a very stressful job.  So like you, how the hell do I give that up?  How do I give up nicotine when I am stressing at work and it feels like my head is going to pop off my shoulders?  How do i give up nicotine when that happens multiple times a day?

Because it will get better.  Faith.  Integrity.  Because I love life.  Because I realized I didn't love dipping - I was addicted to nicotine.

Replace the addiction with something better.  That's how you CAN do this.  and we are here to help.
The only time you fail, is if you don't try

... How the hell do you ...? ...

Fish and Engineer have already nailed it, however I want to address the "how".  How did we do it?  How did we kill an addiction that tried to kill us for 10, 20, 30+ years?  Well I’ll tell you, ultimately, we just F'ing did it.  No pissing, no moaning ... we laced up our boot straps and said enough is enough and kicked that hag to the curb.  Once we did this, we utilized the great tools and resources of this site.  Through this determination and family, we stand here 1week, 1month, 1year, 10+years nicotine free.  Does it take a significant amount of testicular fortitude?  Damn right it does.  But I can attest that my "quit determination" is far greater than any BS reason I could muster to prevent me from quitting.  So yeah, that's how I did it ... and am doing it!  And frankly, there's no reason you can't do the same.

Aumegrad 114 days nic free and looking forward to 115!

Hey REM-

While I want every single person to experience freedom from their nicotine addiction, in order to be successful in your QUIT, you must have the strongest, burning desire to quit each and every day. I have been around here long enough to know that your post is a cry for help since you like the idea of being quit but do not want to put in the effort to actually be QUIT. Only you can quit for yourself. We are here to support and help you along the way, but our help only goes so far if you don't buy into the system 1000%.

As you yourself stated, there is no such thing as "just one". That is the nic bitch lying to us the same as she's been lying to us every since we wedged that first fatty of cancerous cat shit into our lip. You know what dip is Rem? It's a cancerous, dead weed in a plastic can. Are you stronger than a dead plant Rem?

Do some soul searching if you need to but you gotta stop romanticizing dip and learn to hate nicotine. Fish pretty much covered it but what has dip ever done for you other than steal your money, health and hurt your relationships? Doesn't sound like a situation I'd want to be in anymore and by the grace of God and KTC, I have been a free man for 933 days.

Last thing. I'll be real with you. I thought I liked dipping. When I joined KTC I wasn't sure what I was signing up for. But I dove in and through quitting day in and day out, I learned to hate nicotine/dip and love the freedom of being QUIT. We have all been in your shoes and are willing to help if you so much as ask for it. But you have to do your part first by dumping out everything you have and post a Day 1.

You in?

What was the part you liked the most?  Was it the waking up in the middle of the night thinking you're dying of cancer?  Was it the hiding it from your spouse?  Was it having the shit stuck in your teeth?  was it the bad breath? Was it the constant fear of running out?  Was it the money that you coulda spent on your family?  I know.. It was the part where you always took the long way home or sat on the shitter just so you could get one more in for the day.  Gee...  Sounds great...
Me thinks not.
Wake up and smell the grinds..  That stuff owned you and if you still have it in your lip, it STILL owns you.  I'm nobody's bitch anymore, but I'll tell you what... I was nicotine's bitch for 32 years.  I'm a free man for 904 days.
Post roll and make a change for the better.  you can do this.

CT day 5 I think
« on: November 13, 2018, 03:21:27 PM »
Can really relate to some of these stories.  How the hell do you get past the things you really liked about chewing?  Like the burn, spitting in the woods? HTF am I gonna do this after 25 years?  Having a couple hundred arguments with myself today.  One thinks its a good idea to just have one chew the other says no that never works.
