NOMORETobacco, welcome to KTC!

Not a lot I can add to the quit wisdom that you've already gotten from these really outstanding quitters.   One thing I would say is that - if your haven't already - wrap your brain around the fact that you are a nicotine addict.  Addict.  And once you accept that, go figure out what that means.  I found that quitting got a lot easier once I understood what nicotine had done to my brain and body which allowed me to see things in a detached, clinical way. And I could see through all the LIES nicotine tells us.  There are great resources on this site - go to the Facts & Figures section >> https://www.killthecan.org/facts-figures/ and pour through the resources and links there.  It will be well worth your effort.

The other thing that helped me in the early days was to understand that the way to make this suck go away was to simply not put nicotine in my body again.  That's it.  Simple.  Not easy, maybe, but simple.  It was empowering when I realized I was 100% in control of my freedom.

Lastly, drink the KTC Kool-aid.  Just dive in.  Trust that you are exactly where you need to be.  This gets better.  And then better.  And then SO MUCH better.

PM me if you need digits.

Just one and you will be back to where you started, and where you started was desperately wishing you were where you are now.

NOMORETobacco,

These three bad ass quitters have given you a lot of great information.  AW brought up not missing roll.  For a lot of us, being a 100% poster is a badge of honor that we wouldn't trade for anything.  I myself have posted everyday for the last 531 days.  There are guys on here in the 1000's of days that are 100% posters.

The brotherhood of KTC is exceptional.  I know for a fact, if I made it known that I was even thinking about caving my phone would be blowing up with support from a plethora of quitters.

There is no better place to quit nicotine than this site.  I congratulate for making the decision to quit, it is the best decision you could possibly make.  If you would like more accountability, my digits are a PM away and your for the asking.

Proud to quit with you today,

chris2alaska aka Chris

These two guys are spot on.  I'm a little newer in my quit; day 35.  I have a couple of suggestions for you that helped me.  First, change your daily routine; like drive a different way to work to keep you mind focused on something else.  I went hour by hour the first few days, but it adds up so do whatever you have to do to keep that shit out of your mouth.  Second, drink a ton of water, cut back on caffeine and eliminate alcohol out of the gate.  Alcohol will lower your resolve to stay quit.  Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, keep a journal.  Write it in as often as you need and express all of the shit you are going through.  Mark each entry with how long you've been quit.  I cannot emphasize enough how important the journal is for me.  You can move mountains with the strategy of one day at a time.  However, you will get to a point of complacency.  At this point, go back and read the first week of your journal entries.  It will remind you of the suck and help you keep your word day in and day out.

Shoot me a message if you need someone to exchange numbers with.

Welcome NOMOtobacco

mjPlatt2009 Hit the nail on the head with his posts.

Here at KTC we strive for excellence through accountability and brotherhood. This isn't just an ordinary support group I can promise you that.

POST ROLL EVERY DAMN DAY!

Some people make the mistake of saying well I've posted roll three days in a row I'm going to sick just today. Well they skip that day then here comes 6 more in the future and before you know it they're missing in quit.

You can't let your brothers down by not posting, but more importantly, you can't let yourself down. It's the little things that get us through the day as an addict and yes. YOU ARE AN ADDICT!

I'm 162 days quit and I will always consider myself an addict but thanks to my brothers here at KTC I am not a user.

Welcome to the best decision of your live!!!!

Throw away whatever nicotine replacement you have NOMOtobacco because you are wayyyy stronger than you think you are! Since you have agreed to quit cold turkey here is where you will post roll here. Find the most recent roll post...hit quote in the top right..scroll down and under "BAD ASS quitters post your promise below" - or something similar - type your username, days quit (which will be 1 for you), and your promise if you choose to do so. Clear as mud?? Good!

Everyday you will wake up and post your promise to your groups roll call. Wake Up Piss Post (WUPP) is the way to do it. If you post early before your day starts then you have taken nicotine off the table for that day! All you need to do is quit 24hrs. This quit needs to be for you. Not your dog, wife, kids, family, or whoever it may. When you get angry and want a dip come to the site to vent, don't vent on friends and family. If you have any questions about anything then shoot me a text or private message (pm) me. Or, there tons of vets on the site and they will be more than glad to assist you on the site if you want to post something by hitting "reply" in the top right also.

Glad to have you here NOMOtobacco! This site is extremely useful and will help you stay quit from nicotine if you do what you're supposed to do. I dipped for 15'ish years and I am now 114 days COMPLETELY NICOTINE FREE. Which leads me into my next topic...The Kill The Can (KTC) site does NOT allow nicotine therapy, nicotine replacement, and minimal nicotine products of any kind. So, in order for you to quit alongside a group of people that are quitting with you...you will need to let go of the nicotine replacement - or at least you will need to let it go to post roll on this site. Posting roll is you adding your username, days quit, and your promise to the "October 2019 Quit Group" right now. It looks something like this: NOMOtobacco - 1. I will not use nicotine today. <--- That's similar to what you will post everyday. Once again, you can not use nicotine replacement therapy.

So, if you choose today (July 2nd, 2019) that you will not use nicotine of any kind, then you are MORE than WELCOME to post your username, days quit, and promise to the roll call. We want you here..we want to help you quit nicotine because we know how awful it is. I sent you my phone number in your "private messages" if you need help understanding this better. Also, I quit using nicotine cold turkey on March 11th, 2019 at 12:00am. If I can do it you damn sure can!

Make sense?
