Title: quit date tomorrow
Post by: sean.d on June 30, 2014, 09:55:00 PM
Hi all, tomorrow is my quit date, i have been planning this for about 3 weeks now. I have been dreading this more and more with each passing day. It feels like I am heading towards a court date for a crime i know i will be convicted for. it will be my second attempt at quitting. the first lasted 3 months. Reading the other posts on here gives me encouragement to really see it through this time. I will be praying for you guys and myself.

How is tomorrow better than right now?

The only good time to quit is right now.

Dump it and get to it.

youll hear this a million times until you finally give in to quitting today..

"why not now?"

what does 1 day do for you? it's only going to set you back another day.

Maybe instead of praying, you should quit NOW! You ever consider that maybe God himself sent you here TONIGHT. Maybe your prayers have already been answered.....

It is 10 my time. Quit now and post a day 2 in two hours, just as you planned.

Think Sean-boy will be back in here tomorrow or stuffing his face again with the wreckage of his "plan" left in the rearview? I sure hope it's the former. I'll be looking for you tomorrow, Sean.

This is a great idea. You can lock down 2 days quit inside of 2 hrs.... Just for making the decision right now.

There is no such thing as tomorrow in quitting. Tell me... How many times have you said "I will quit tomorrow"??? I said it 1000s of times and every time it was BS.

Trust us. The only way to do this is by quitting this minute. Dump your stash and let's get your life back right now.

Read the intros for MrCounihan and Flaw. They just did what we are telling you to do! They quit and posted day 1...

you have to commit. After you admit you are indeed an addict, you need help and you cant do it alone. then move on. Get past it. the first day is the roughest but after that my friend you feel like the air is a little fresher, your free time a little freeer, sun a little brighter, Largemouth bass a little bigger. After my day three i got my taste buds back, day five i woke up and could smell better. take that freedom back you deserve it. Ill see you in october Titans

Good choice! Stay quit, check your PM's (top right) ... you've got my digits if you need them. I quit with you today, and if you post roll early tomorrow and promise not to use ... I'll quit with you then as well! Proud of your decision, now Quit Strong!!

Sean,

Welcome...pay attention to jeeptruck...man knows what he's talking about. READ---there is a ton of info on these pages to help you deal with the SUCK that will become your life while your body seeks to rid itself of the poison and your brain rewires itself to remove all those nicotine receptors it built over the years you were flooding it with the crap. Knowledge is power, and the more you know about this addiction, the more power you have to control your responses when the cravings come (and they will come). Drink plenty of water, find something (if you need to) for the oral fixation....gum, hard candy, seeds, fake dip....whatever you need to use, just NO DIP.

You're in an awesome quit group, the Titans of October. Stay strong, post EDD (Every Damn Day), the earlier the better to take that option off the table. Honor your post. Build a community of quitters around you by trading numbers/emails/whatever....promise them you'll call them if the urges feel like they are too strong to handle alone. That's the beauty of this site....yeah, alot of us are in fact assholes, but you'll never be alone as long as you reach out to someone; there is always someone willing to reach back to you.

Quit on, brother....quit on!

Sean went MIA from the Titans roll (last post 07/21), so I texted him last night ... and again this AM ... receiving this response:

"I decided I'm not going to post anymore. I have appreciated your support. Thank You."

Of course I asked WTF, and several other questions ... no response. I hope he did not cave, but it doesn't smell good. Broken and pissed at the same time, I've supported him from day one! Brothers, we quit for ourselves first and foremost, but your quit affects all here at KTC. This shit actually makes my quit stronger ... because I realize how fragile our (my) quit is, and how it must be PROTECTED each day!

If anyone else has contact info for Sean, throw him a rope! I hope he grabs it ...

See you on roll ...

I feel for ya Smeds, you gave him a part of you in your support, and he can't see the forest through the trees.

Well ... I got my answer. Sean texted me to tell me he didn't cave, that he just couldn't keep it up (posting) ... that it helped a lot in the beginning, but it has now lost its meaning.

Sean, I hope you get pissed at me for sharing what we were texting, because (as you know) I'm pissed at you for the inability to own your quit and strengthen other quits. Get your head on straight ... you're setting yourself up to fail (and eventually cave). Every last soul here has the ability to give up a couple of minutes of their day every damn day for something meaningful!

sigh 'bang head'
