Hi guys. Brand new here!
So, Im quitting today for the 100th time. Im 26, just started a new job and ive been chewing tobacco since the 9th grade. During my previous quit attempts, i was on the patch -- the lowest one. I would def cheat though, by either putting on a second (or third) patch or chewing while on the patch. Basically, I havent been without nicotine in my system for many years.
My biggest question -- and, sadly, one of my most motivating factors to quit -- is whether or not my sexual performance will get a boost. Does anybody have a link or thread regarding this conversation? From the limited amount of info that Ive gathered, I should start hanging much lower and grow thicker and longer.
Any links? Any personal experience?
Thanks, guys.

Great choice bro. Best decision you have made since 9th grade. We are here to help in any way we can. I don't know about the sexual enhancment aspect. But I do know after awhile you'll feel better which I'd assume would help.
I have one big question? Are you quitting cold turkey or are you using the patch? Cold turkey is the only way to be successful. We addicts have to cut the NIC bitch out completely. The patch will just leave a back door open for you.
Your gonna feel like shit the next few days, but if you fight for your life, you will feel better! We will help. Go to the welcome center and post roll. It's our way of being accountable to each other. Read everything you can. P.m. me if you need anything.
Proud to be clean with you today!

thanks so much, jake! it immediately feels better know i have support.
unfortunately, i am on the patch as we speak. i was going to use the step 2 all this week, then get back on step 3 (last step).
i feel like if i went cold turkey i would have a very, very hard time adjusting to my new job while couped up in an office all day. argh, these are just excuses, you know that. sorry, this is tough.

Yup your right, those are just excuses. Mighty piss poor to boot. Throw the $100 worth of patches in the trash and post roll. Make a promise to yourself and this entire site full of people going through the same thing as you that you will not use nicotine in any form today. Just today....worry about tomorrow when it becomes today. You are worth it, we all are!
-
Woahbot you do realize that patches are just another delivery method of the drug you are addicted to? They do not help you master your addiction. They are just like giving beer to an alcoholic. If you are serious about beating your addiction to nicotine, then you must stop putting nicotine in your body. There is no other way to quit.
Yes this is tough. But only if you have not committed to really quitting. All you have to do is eliminate the option of using nicotine in any form, and the only possible outcome is being quit. It sucks, but it gets tons better.
Don't half ass this quit. Either do it, or don't do it.
-
Nicotine in any form is cheating. We commit everyday to be free from nicotine. The only way this will work for you is to cut all ties. It will suck and you will hate life, but its the only way to get through it. If you don't hate ur addiction enough to quit right, then you will fail. Millions of dollars are made each year by companies that sell products to keep you hooked on nicotine. They all claim to help you quit tobbacco but the odds are it will cause you to use again.
Are you ready to quit? Or are you toying with the idea? If your ready, then go cold turkey. It's how we have all done it and it works. It only takes 3 days to purge the nicotine from your body. Then its all mental. If you use the patch it will take weeks or months. Get it over with. Pull the band aid off. It takes major balls to quit cold turkey. And you get a lot of pride after the nicotine leaves your blood. Cause You made it happen.
-
Nicotine in your patch came from the same plant as the shit in the can.
-
A lot of good advice below. Go back in the intros probably page2 and go to my intro (day two) i believe is the subject and Erussell is the subject starter. Read it from the beginning. It will be a big help to you on the patch. Hope to see you in roll tomorrow. I will quit with you any day.
-
if you read through older posts you will see that yes quiting does make your junk work better... nicotine decreases blood flow to your periferals like limbs especially lower extremities...your dick is included in lower extremities. Good news is that my personal exp. my junk responded quickly to being off of the nicotine and I can now cut glass again.
But to check to see if this works for you you need to throw away that shit in the box the shit in the tin let your balls drop down and quit the nicotine. It will suck and like it or not you will have to learn to deal with it. New job or not life goes on and new excuses will come up like I cant quit right now because I am stressed that sky will fall tomorrow so I need to keep dipping...blah blah we are all addicts here we always will be.
READ READ READ learn establish bonds with people here you will not find the amount of caring anywhere. BUT YOU have to pitch the Bitch and quit we will all be here to help when you do it. PM me if you need my help.

pitch the patch and ride the suck. you'll be over the worst of it a lot quicker.
I am 7 days in, and past the "physical" withdrawal.. Now all it is the head games.
I played the patch and gum several attempts before and all lead back to the can.
you will have 3-5 days of physical craving. As others have said using the patch isn't quitting.
Nicotine has to go, and in any form, it still keeps up it's slave.
Fact is we justify our actions with, my job, my wife, stress at work on ad naseum.
Get the fake stuff, use gum, anything to get you through those 1st 5 days.
I can see for the 1st time in 10 years I feel free. I maybe a little nuts but nuts is survivable. Cancer often times isn't..
Make a list of why you want to stop, and paste it on your forehead.

Don't believe all these quitters? Well my 2 cents, for 40 years I used every conceivable method of feeding my body nicotine. As long as you are putting nicotine into your body you are a slave! I'm still a addict but I'm no longer a slave. You can be free also, quit postponing the suck! There are no short cuts.

I tried patches, lozenges other methods to quit. Quitting with the support of this site these people has helped me get further than any other method.

Damn... Look at all of you guys. Seeing how passionate you are all is really a blessing. I appreciate all of the responses.
I've made it 2 days without ANY nicotine only one time. The way I did it was with the patches. I've tried cold turkey before and I had serious psychological side effects: panic attacks, racing thoughts, etc. etc.. When I used the patch system and finally ripped the last one off for two days I didn't have any of these side effects bc of the step system. Needless to say, I just wasn't mentally strong enough to stay quit.
This time, once I'm down to the last step, I'm quitting for good. I understand your lack of confidence of anything non-cold-turkey but this has worked for me once however so brief.
Ill be back with a true quit date; it's gonna be hell like last time but if I can lean on you guys I will do it. Ill be back.
Thanks for the motivation.

I'M glad your here and listening. Now listen to me my friend. I'm going to be real. The patch is krap. All you are doing is postponing the inevitable.
THE ONLY WAY TO QUIT IS QUIT. Yes you are going to go through withdraws for a few days, but it's so worth it. Yes, you will have anxiety and a few other symptoms of withdraws. There is no way around it though,,, nicotine is nicotine. It has to go.
I don't want to beat this to death. You have to decide. When you are ready to really quit,, we are here. Just remember, and I'm being real, the patch doesn't work. I't's made by the same people that got you hooked on dip. THEY ARE ONE IN THE SAME,, STOP GIVING THEM MONEY!!!!

I'm only posting here because your handle is cool, whoabot. W H O A B O T . . . WHOABOT!!! WHOA . . . bot.
Just pitch that shit and come on in. I hear your line of bullshit (sorry) from lots of hesitant quitters and every single nicotine vape / e-cig person in the world. The fact is that nicotine is an incredibly addictive chemical.
We don't need to debate whether or how carcinogenic it is by itself or whether harm reduction through pure nicotine consumption is better than tobacco consumption. That's all hooey. Why? Because if you allow nicotine in your life you will consume it in whatever form it is around you. If you allow yourself to be a USING addict, you will USE nicotine. Out of patches? Then you'll tell yourself, "what harm is a little lipper?" Out of vape extract? Then you'll tell yourself, "what harm is a little cig?"
Nicotine replacement people tell me I'm passionate, or that I'm emotional. HORSESHIT. I am an addict. I've been beating back my addiction every day for 224 days, and I'm less emotional and more rational about it than I ever was when I was using. And the sad thing is that I'm a lot less passionate about being quit than I was about finding nicotine back when I was using.
What you can learn here is to use a set of tools that keep nicotine, and thus all products containing nicotine, out of your life. What you learn on the nicotine replacement shit is . . . well, I don't know. Maybe someone else can help you with that, because it didn't help me learn how to quit.
Really, I can't believe I spent this much time laying this out for you when all you've posted here is equivocation and procrastination. I really really hope that you choose your freedom.
-
I was just like you man. Same fucking sad story. Quit many times for a few days and then start back. Used the patch every time. I quit one time for a year that was cold turkey about 8 to 9 years ago. A moment of superman syndrome and I was again a slave. Nonetheless these guys convinced me to go cold again this time. Damn it hurt. I am 15 days into my freedome, best thing I ever did. I wish you the best of luck and you will be welcome here and we will try to help you. But realize this approach of yours is less likely to result in success. These vets know that. They see a hundred of our stories a month. Oh and don't expect the vets to pat you on the head and say dats....okay...you quit..ur only whittle way.. . Hell no they want to help not lie to you. We care about your quit. Sorry if I am an ass but I just quit too lmao.
Im adding an edit to this as I feel my no nicotine self was overboard in my response. Bottom line misery loves misery, but freedom loves freedom. All us have a taste of freedom ( some more than others) and We hope for you to have it too. You do what you gotta do, but your ass better get it done and you better make it into our August quit group. I will quit with you!
-

-

Woah, they are just trying to get u to see the light. When u Get done with the 3,4 or 5 weeks on the patch let us know. Or maybe you want to try the gum next. There is also the e cig. Oh, what about chantix , hear people try that one for a few months.
My friend we do it in one day... Yea its hard, but its the only way and its so worth it.

'cs' butt hurt
KTC is about NOT using nicotine by any delivery method. You come in here and disrespect that one principle then get all cry baby when folks say you are weak. Stop using nicotine and they will say you are strong.
-
yep we all welcomed you your first days gave you support told you the rules here and you wanted to do it your way and keep your nicotine receptors fed, now you bring your nicotine filled ass back here (slap us addicts in the face) and you are still posting and defending your position when you are not supposed to post until you post roll. I don't want to sound harsh but this place is for quitters...we have paid our dues and we hang together and will protect each other from the NIC BITCH. You will see too when you quit what its like when someone comes into your home with the chemical we are fighting against...I guarantee you wont like it.

Funny thing is I do know you. I've seen dozens of guys roll through here saying that they're going to do it their way... Patch, gum, ecig, whatever. You are nothing new around these parts, snowflake.
And the quitter who has made up his mind and IS quit, doesn't have to hope or wish anything. They still need the support of their brothers and sisters, but they take control of their lives and don't leave it to chance, fate, or any other hocus pocus bullshit.
Grow some balls, rip off the patch, and quit like a man with a purpose.

you guys are twisted -- bottom line. is this a cult or a support website?
forgive me for "disrespecting that one principle" of using a nicotine patch. i didnt see that rule explicitly written anywhere on here.

they're trying to help you.. the hardest part of this journey is the start. The sooner you get the nicotine out of your system, the sooner you can heal.. You're just delaying the inevitable.. I spent over $1000 in my lifetime on nic gum patches.. Guess what? they don't work... just more chemicals in your system. When I used the patch years ago I could taste the chemical shit in my mouth, now the thought gives me chicken skin..

really? you must not understand the term "explicitly written".
they're trying to help you.. the hardest part of this journey is the start.
Was trying to stay out of this but ....
Question - Does an Alcoholic only quit Bourbon? Of course that answer is a resounding NO as it is the alcohol that is the drug that they are quitting.
If you look in the Welcome Center, this is a Site for Quitting Smokeless Tobacco, but the drug in question here is Nicotene, so ANY FORM of nicotene needs to be kept out of our body, and yes that includes patches.
That is why you are getting the reaction from people who are dedicated to the quit, and are here reaching out to one another, as an addict to another one, to lend a hand to get you through the process.
So if this is something that you really want, then you have come to the right place, but you need to realize that for what each and every one of us who has been there and gone through the hard times, it it not just "disrespecting the one principle", it is disrespecting the people who have followed that.
you call to keep spending the money on something else, or starting to save it and actually getting yourself healthier in the process. I will quit with you but only if you are serious.

you guys are twisted -- bottom line. is this a cult or a support website?
forgive me for "disrespecting that one principle" of using a nicotine patch. i didnt see that rule explicitly written anywhere on here.

It has been a week 7 days and still you can't get over the talk of the patch woahbot?? WTF man it's plain as day....the patch is giving you a small dose of NIC through the 4/6/8 hour plan whatever it is. This site KTC is against any form of NIC simple fucking simon!!! Get it or GTFO!! Your call....or is that too twisted??

I think it's all mental. If your gonna quit it has to be cold turkey, no safety nets. In 9hrs and 45 min I will be on day 10. I need this hard withdraw to remind me that if I start again I will have to go through all this over!

( if I start again..) lose that mentality.. this is the only time you'll quit. I stopped using nic many, many, many, times. But I quit once..like a mofo

how do you feel after 10 days?

get it, hambone!
how do you feel after 10 days?
I'll tell u how he ought to feel.
Like he's been a bad ass quitter for 10 days. He's had his freedom and dignity back. He's not been spending his hard earned money on something that is slowly killing him. His brain is now receiving the proper amount of oxygen and is healing. I would say he probably feels better about himself than he has in a long time.
I can say all this because i know how i felt after 10 days.
The real question is how do you feel?

Full of hope. (Edit: To be clear, I was referring to whoabot's statement that he "hopes" to quit someday. Sounds like he's still hoping. So much hope.)
-
How you doing bro? I don't see that you posted roll today? Everything good? If you forgot, post roll now.
-
I must have missed this post, I did however get my days mixed up, when I posted this I was at 8 days and 45 min, I added a day! Now today is my 10th day! I feel foggy but so glad I set down the tin 5/11/2013 at 9:11 am!
Quitters gonna quit... Users gonna use!

Clearing up misunderstanding. This is Woahbots thread. The one with the patch stuck to him.

you guys are twisted -- bottom line. is this a cult or a support website?
forgive me for "disrespecting that one principle" of using a nicotine patch. i didnt see that rule explicitly written anywhere on here.
Something does not need to be explicitly written to be law, something can become law simply by being. This site is a no nicotine site, that is putting it bluntly. Now you know, so explicitly stated or not, you know no nicotine.
There is a reason why it is no nicotine, nicotine replacement does not work and prolongs the pain.
Your body reacts the same way if it is not getting any nicotine or if is not getting enough (whatever you are used to). The patch calls for four weeks on a 28mg, then two weeks on 14mg, then two weeks on 7mg and you are done.
Most people here are on a can+ a day habit. The average can of chew is around 80mg. When you go from 80mg to 24mg, you might as well quit that way you do not have to suffer more when take the next two steps down.
The people here are smart people, listen and learn, I am 43 days quit today and feeling much better, if I had started with the patch I would currently be going through suck of reducing the nicotine from 14 to 7mg and have to look forward to the suck one more time as I dropped from 7mg to 0. Not to mention the fact that I would be about $200.00 lighter in the pocket book.
So my only challange to you, is when you read this, rip off the patch if you are still using it and throw the rest away, or if you went back to chewing, then flush the crap and read all of THIS (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showforum=13) and post roll HERE (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=8141).
Trust me, you will thank all of us if you take one day at a time.

Good post quit. I just want this guy to see there is such an easier way. He is going through withdraws way longer because he believes a lie.
That is of he's still trying the patch. For all we know he's back on the other poison.
It's your move woahbot.

Here ya go "EXPLICITLY FUKIN WRITTEN" NO NIC OF ANY FORM!!! Orally, transdermal, nasal, vaginal, or anally.
Keep being a little bitch to the nic whore if that is what you choose. Just don't do it on our dime. There are other sites for that.
When you wanna face the fact that you are an addict and noone can smell the bullshit by an addict better than another addict.
Like I said. Get rid of your security blanket and get to quitten.
And of course we are a cult. Didn't you see the midget trannies, glass soapbox, 3 ton chicken coop, rainbow painted unicorn, old rusted out motorcycle, goats and other assorted farm animals on the way in?
-
Glad to see razd finally got this guys attention..I think we all got tired of beating around the bush.. .... 'bang head' 'bang head' 'bang head'

So..... is this dude off the patch and posting roll now? I didn't read all the way back to the beginning, so I may have missed it being posted here somewhere. Regardless, this thread is best answered by Scowick's post from a while back. I keep it handy because it's one of the best I've ever come across.
Scowick65:Â Whether nicotine dependency was established and/or maintained by being chewed, smoked, drank, snuffed, sprayed, swallowed, sucked, licked or patched, in the end there is only one way out - no nicotine today.
-
nope he has his way of doing it...even though there is a post based on science and withdrawal...he would rather do the slow bandaid pull or he just cant say good bye to a bad relationship....
-
Woahbot,
I have not given up on you are you off the patch yet?
-
Sorry guys, I'm struggling. I have, however, stepped down to a lower patch mg.
I know, the patch is shit and it is not quitting. I know. I'm just doing it so that I won't have as bad of withdrawal symptoms when I do quit. I should have waiting to post on here when I was actually quitting.
I'm making progress towards quitting. This is the only semi successful way I've ever done it. When I do quit the patch, ill come back bc I'm gonna need a lot of support.

Quit torturing yourself with never ending withdrawal. Stop nicotine consumption completely and it is out of your system in 3 days. In 7 days most start to actually feel good. Can't see how a long drawn out "tapering" torture on the patch is less painful than a quick cold turkey? You will eventually have to go cold turkey anyway if you ever really want to quit.

Your not having success,, you are torturing yourself. I give up trying to reason with you. When you're ready to really quit,, I'll be glad to quit with you.

Using the patch is EXTENDING YOUR MISERY.
You aren't going to bleed to death. the ONLY way to stop nicotine is cold turkey.
using a patch or nic gum keeps your brain tricked into the notion that the fix is coming.
You have to end it. As it is said Shit or Get off the pot.
With Nicotine there IS NO 1/2 Measure.
Get some oral substitutes, (seeds, fake dip(Smoky Mountain), sugar free gum..
Take Valerian root or melatonin at night to help with sleep..
And Drink Water. Lots of Water. Reduce Caffeine and avoid Booze.
Quit Today, rip off that fucking patch and throw it in the trash. I know the withdrawal SUCK, that is why it is CALLED SUCK.
YOU EMBRACE THAT FUCKING SUCK SO you NEVER FORGET IT.
-
semi successful,,, that doesnt exist with the nic whore.
26 years i was fooled by this little can of misery, records have
never shown one to die from nic withdrawals, quit quit quit, post roll and thats it, one day, not a life time, quit a day at a time and i will be right beside you. it sucks and thats why you need to do it, the poison is leaving my body as we speak. just do it
-
Wanna make some progress? Just stop killing yourself and post up... Right now, don't wait another second. Every second is another opportunity lost. Seize it brother and don't let go, no matter what. We'll be here.

"stepped down to a lower patch huh?" I am really proud of you, WTF man, that is total shit. You said yourself that the patch is shit. And we both know that the withdrawal symptoms will not be less by messing around with that damn patch. Your wasting money and your wasting time.

IDK what to tell you dude, I am with SRANS on this one tired of talking reasoning being there for you. You are spewing full addict talk I didn't think ed affected ball size but maybe it does. post up when you drop the crutch and I will be there for you.

Just reading this whole thread tonight. I don't post much, but I read the site every day. I've seen similar banter in past postings, but this one takes the cake.
Whoahbot, everyone here is trying like hell to help you but you refuse to buy into the program that has proven itself to be so successful. I feel sorry for you because like all of us you are an addict , but you are too blind to see the nic bitch slowly ass raping you. However, I have too much respect for this site and the members not to voice my thoughts.
Fuck you! Don't come to our site and disrespect people trying to help you or the program that can save your life. You are obviously much smarter than all of us so fuck off and go suck some more cancer cock.
If you want to apologize to the site and members for your disrespect, I welcome you as a fellow addict and will stand by you and quit every day. I pray one day you will fully appreciate my visceral reaction to this thread as you celebrate being free from the nic.

I read this whole post tonight . I'm going to tell you now I used Copenhagen for 40 years . I have quit several times during these forty years but never for good . I will be posting roll 23 days this morning , and I feel today better than I can remember over the last 25 to 30 years . I am about to turn 47 years old and after 23 days I swear I have added at least 20 to 30 years longer to my life span. If someone would have told me I would feel this good after 23 days I would have called him a f****** liar. The only way to quit is with KTC.
Quit like to fuck.
I am glad to call you all brothers

Still being a puss I see.
Call us when you decide to grow a pair.

woahbot, I hope you are right but that nic bitch has some deep hooks. You keep that door open even a crack and she will drown you. Gotta close the door bro, hurry up with the damn step and get your ass quit. It is the only way to finally get free of it. Anyone who is successful in getting off nicotine via the patch...........is successful in spite of it, not because of it. Read my thread, read Deisel's thread, anxiety and depression are normal and will not kill you. We have been through it too man, it can be done, you can do it.

Or, maybe you're a fucking dumbass.
If you -- all of you for that matter -- think that properly using nicotine replacement therapy to gradually lower ones blood-nicotine levels is useless, hogwash, a lie or bullshit, then you're all fucking morons.
How hard is it to understand? Really? How fucking difficult is it to understand the concept of tapering off nicotine? None of you have objectively given this any thought other than to dismiss it as black magic. Are you fucking kidding me?
I completely understand, and have acknowledged that I understand that going cold turkey is prob a good route to take. I've acknowledged everything that you've mentioned as being true. However, I'm going to taper of nicotine bc when I do quit, the withdrawal symptoms will be 50% less noticeable. This is science, chemistry, and common fucking knowledge, you ignorant hillbillies.
You know what? I dont need your fucking help. Don't bother writing above this. This will def be my last visit to killthecan.

Do you have a peer reviewed paper to back up that vitriol? I would guess that you do not, since there's quite a bit of research that supports the efficacy of the "bullshit" going on in here.
I will never turn my back on someone ready to quit, but you sir are really trying my patience. Doesn't matter though, since you're not ready to quit.

What an idiot.

Just reading this whole thread tonight. I don't post much, but I read the site every day. I've seen similar banter in past postings, but this one takes the cake.Â
Whoahbot, everyone here is trying like hell to help you but you refuse to buy into the program that has proven itself to be so successful. I feel sorry for you because like all of us you are an addict , but you are too blind to see the nic bitch slowly ass raping you. However, I have too much respect for this site and the members not to voice my thoughts.Â
Fuck you! Don't come to our site and disrespect people trying to help you or the program that can save your life. You are obviously much smarter than all of us so fuck off and go suck some more cancer cock.Â
If you want to apologize to the site and members for your disrespect, I welcome you as a fellow addict and will stand by you and quit every day. I pray one day you will fully appreciate my visceral reaction to this thread as you celebrate being free from the nic.
Or, maybe you're a fucking dumbass.
If you -- all of you for that matter -- think that properly using nicotine replacement therapy to gradually lower ones blood-nicotine levels is useless, hogwash, a lie or bullshit, then you're all fucking morons.

The only folks happy to see you eschew our methods are the folks who profit from making you think it makes sense to continue using the drug you're addicted to. I guess it makes you, the addict, happy, too. It gives you permission to keep using.
There is no stepping down. You're either using nicotine or you aren't. I made the same arguments as you. I finally saw the light. You will, too, but it won't come from us. We can simply tell you the truth. You'll have to take off the addict goggles and see the truth for yourself.

This a NO NICOTINE site. End of discussion.
We don't use words like try or hope as they are just another excuse for our addictive brains to tell us another lie. There are no short cuts, but here are some links that will help you navigate this site.
This is a quit site doosh nozzle so put your big boy pants on and QUIT or GTFO

i quit at 4pm today. where do i sign this fucking thing?
Your nuts finally dropped!?
Nice man! Welcome to the quit side. We'll do it with you every damn day. DO NOT LOOK BACK! Post your word every day and be a man of that word. This will not be easy... won't lie to you, but... it will be worth every moment of fog, anger, anxiety, despair, or whatever you may go through. It's the price of healing after so long a time of abuse. Freedom is so damn cool, dude! So damn cool...

First welcome woahbot, finally. You haven't given an intro in a few. Would like to hear why you have all the sudden showed up? What has changed as of late? Were you back on the can or were you still on the patch. You of course are under no obligation, but i think it would be a good read and possible help someone else in the process.
I'm particularly interested in your thoughts on the patch now. Yea, na. Just wondering. I think it would be beneficial for your quit in particular, but others as well. Need anything give me a pm.

I have been almost exclusively on the patch as well as a couple disposable E-cigarettes for the past 4 weeks. I've had 1 chew in my mouth over that time period, and it just reminded me as to why i needed to quit.
Lately, I've been at the last step of patch. I plan on never buying those damn things again. I get a nicotine rush in the morning, the first time i put one on, then i feel somewhere between withdraw and actively using nic for the rest of the day.
now that its been about 20 hours, i feel like i am working up a solid foundation. the longer i can go WITH NO NICOTINE, the more motivation i will have to keep on going.
woke up super early today, stayed busy on the internet for a couple hours, then went out and played some tennis. for me, exercise helps alot.
last time i went 3 days, then i slipped. that cant happen again.
what kind of motivation can yall give me to keep going? any weird/different things that you found while quitting that just make it all worthwhile?

I can tell you a couple things that will help. Now you are quitting and with time everything will get better. If you would have listened to us months ago you would be feeling so much better right now. Your nic (hard) headed self has caused you a lot more torment than you needed to go through.
You will be amazed at how good u will feel in time. The important thing, nafar (never again for any reason). Post roll and stay the course. Share numbers with individuals in your group. This is where accountability comes into play. I will send you my number. Check your inbox.
Now is the time woahbot. Time to take your life back. Yesterday you belonged to the poison. Today your life is your own. Keep it, nurish, it, enjoy it. The poison wants you back, but with time and perseverance you will win. This battle is a must win, your life depends on it.

You have some bad assed quitters posting advice on your intro and trying to help you... Sounds like you figured out for yourself that the patches just prolong the suffering. Only way to go is cold ass turkey which is where you are now. Post roll call and promise not to use every day, read everything on KTC, drink lots of water, work out, get fake dip, hard candy, and sunflower seeds, schedual a deep tissue massage and pay for it with the money you are not spending on poison, beat your meat, whatever you need to do to stay quit. If you open yourself to the knowledge here you will be strengthened! Never Again For Any Reason and One Day At A Time... Also building up a pathological hatred and rage for the nic bitch is a good idea! I will quit with you every day, and it gets better.

Thanks my brothers!
Struggling with the patch for the past month or 2 has made the past 24 hours not so bad. I may, at some point today, rip the head off of a passer-by who someone who forgets to use his turn single until he has begun turning... but i feel ok!
Thanks for the support; ill need to chat soon.

I'm on day 4 of my quit. Yesterday was the worst its been. I think I drank 6 cups of coffee rather than my normal 1 morning-cup.
I feel so lethargic and tingly (which is -- as i hear -- a good thing) that I just want to go to sleep while suffocating a baby seal or some sort of well-liked, nearly extinct animal. I mean, the rage is still there but its accompanied by slothfulness.
Is coffee a nic trigger for everyone? or can i safely drink to keep my lethargy down and my sugar levels up?
Here's where Im at: was on patch for quite some time; quit patch; had a hard time staying nic free; started up again. Now: was on patch; stepped down; took of patch; totally nic free with the help of some pharmaceuticals, i.e. Ativan.
btw, i started the "quitting and ed" thread in here and i might as well report on that subject. although the ativan is preventing me to get a hard-on, my 4-day-nicotine-free penis is hanging lllloooowww.

The Caffeine / Nicotine Interaction
If you feel jittery, extra anxious or are having trouble sleeping after a few days, take a look at your caffeine consumption levels. Studies show that nicotine doubles the rate at which the body depletes caffeine and some caffeine users may find that they cannot tolerate caffeine consumption at pre-quitting levels. If you are feeling extra anxious or jittery you may want to experiment with reducing the quantity or strength of caffeinated drinks or products. If you are not having these difficulties it probably is not important to alter anything now.
There is also a nicotine/alcohol interaction. Nicotine is an alkaloid and alcohol an acid generating event within the body. When chewers drink alcohol it causes them to lose nicotine at an accelerated pace thus resulting in heavier chewing while drinking. Although the situation is similar to caffeine there is one huge difference. Alcohol makes you lose nicotine, thus being responsible for making dippers chew more when drinking.
Nicotine on the other hand interferes with the body's ability to absorb and utilize caffeine, often resulting in a person using more caffeine in order to maintain their minimum needed level. When they quit chewing and continue to consume the exact same amount of caffeine they could find themselves actually overdosing on caffeine.
So look closely at caffeine if symptoms persist longer than a few days. You donÂ’t need to get rid of it all together but just keep it in doses that will not cause unwanted effects. Your general state will likely be calmer and youÂ’ll experience a feeling of overall well-being that you should be able to maintain for the rest of your life.
STAY QUIT

Greg is an encyclopedia on the effects nicotine has on the body, and what your body goes through when quitting. He knows his shit.
My personal experience - when I was dipping, I would NEVER have a cup of coffee after 10 am. I couldn't handle it.
I noticed that over the past three years, I prefer a coffee in the afternoon and even early evening, but I have a decaf.
I also find that I don't have that early morning 'need' for a coffee. I could go with or without.
All anecdotal, I know, but that's where I'm at.
For you on Day 4, I say that is fucking fantastic! I'll also tell you, don't worry about anything but keeping nicotine out of your system. You're going to experience a lot in the next few months, but all you have to worry about is today.
Never again.
For any reason.

thanks for chiming in.
someone sent a private message to me asking me to get a MOD to combine this thread with my other thread. i mistakenly started 2. how do we combine them?
ive heard of the coffee thing: something about our body metabolizes coffee quicker with nicotine in our systems. so i thought it was the other way around -- no nicotine, less coffee jolt; more nicotine in system, more coffee kick.

Before I quit I would drink a pot of coffee every morning. after i quit 1 cup. If I have more than 1 cup now, I get so wired that it makes me feel sick.

smoked a cig on the forth of july. then my thought process was: go big or go home. i regretted every minute of it. i was three days totally nicotine free and wasnt having any severe withdrawal symptoms -- just got drunk and stupid. then, today, i bought an Ecig.
i feel like i need to make an emotional connection with you guys. i need someone to reach out to when im struggling.
anyone out there?
regardless of the debate, my patch-system worked wonders as far as not having withdrawal symptoms. i think tomorrow will be another easy 1 day quit. its continuing day after day that im worried about.
please help. posting roll again for the second time.

Perhaps I am mis-understanding your post. Does this say you were posting while wearing a patch? To post in a quit group you need to be nicotine free... that means all forms of nicotine including the new e-cig you just bought. Perhaps a stroll to the Welcome center is what you need. Understand what we do and how we do it.
Got drunk and started again... Wish that was the first time I heard that. You owe your group and this site an apology and an explanation. Decide you want this, I mean really want this and there are 15,000 people here that will drop everything to help you.
Posting roll for three days while wearing a patch then getting drunk and smoking isnt putting forth any real effort that would warrant these fine quitters investing time in you....
Show us what you got...

i posted this intro while on the patch, letting everyone know my plan was to step down, quit, and post roll. i posted roll 5 days ago or something, completely nicotine free.
back at it again. this is the last time i post day 1 roll. ive only regretted, and gotten sick from using nicotine the past 2 days.

I was going to leave this post alone but several parts of your statement bother me!
1- You regretted smoking on July 4th.... But then you decided to buy an E-cig today? You know this is a nicotine free site! Clearly you don't understand what that means because you then justify that it works better for you then cold turkey. I argue that you did not regret it at all.
2- You said in the first post that you were 3 days nicotine free before you caved and smoked a cigarette on the 4th, But in a reply to Gregs post, You said you were 5 days nicotine free. Which is it? On this site we KNOW how many days quit we are! If you mix up the number of days quit you are then there is a problem you are not telling us about!
3- You say that you need a connection with us on this site... And that you need someone to reach out to when you are struggling! Did you reach out before you caved? I don't see a post on your thread saying you were having a hard day! Did you call or text anyone? I am guessing NO! YOU need to reach out! Show that you care about being quit! Then you can build a support system full of people who care if you chew or smoke. If you do not have numbers, get some! Almost everyone here will jump for you if you ask for help! YOU have to ask!
Man up! Take this shit serious! We are here to help, but you have to do the work! We will NOT coddle here!

You stated the patch worked wonders. Would love you to explain that one smart guy. Yea,,, it worked wonders for someone that needed a nicotine fix. Wise up woahbot...

You stated the patch worked wonders. Would love you to explain that one smart guy. Yea,,, it worked wonders for someone that needed a nicotine fix. Wise up woahbot...
We will NOT coddle here

smoked a cig on the forth of july. then my thought process was: go big or go home. i regretted every minute of it. i was three days totally nicotine free and wasnt having any severe withdrawal symptoms -- just got drunk and stupid. then, today, i bought an Ecig.
i feel like i need to make an emotional connection with you guys. i need someone to reach out to when im struggling.
anyone out there?
regardless of the debate, my patch-system worked wonders as far as not having withdrawal symptoms. i think tomorrow will be another easy 1 day quit. its continuing day after day that im worried about.
please help. posting roll again for the second time.
Show us what you got...
been through this convo 10 times... but no hard feelings:
i posted this intro while on the patch, letting everyone know my plan was to step down, quit, and post roll. i posted roll 5 days ago or something, completely nicotine free.
back at it again. this is the last time i post day 1 roll. ive only regretted, and gotten sick from using nicotine the past 2 days.
Sounds like great plan. Try your best and I hope it all works out for you. I wish you the best of luck.

Fail. That's what path you are on right now. I recommend you read the Welcome Center link if you haven't already. You don't seem to be taking this seriously. We are all fighting for our lives and you come back after caving saying this is your last day one all nonchalantly. I call bullshit, why is it different this time? You need to answer the questions and really figure out if you are serious about this or not. We quit on KTC, we don't try and fail. Either shit or get off the pot. There are other serious quitters that need help.
What happened?
Why did it happen?
What is different this time?

Woahbot,, I can tell you want to quit (not bad enough). There is no question about that.
From what I've seen and heard from you I've come to this conclusion.
You don't listen for crap!!! I'm pretty sure there is at least 50 quitters that will agree!!
You need to start paying attention and trusting what we are telling you. There have been so many great quitters tell you the facts and try to help you. After battling the patch for months, weeks (whatever, who cares ) you finally came here to give cold turkey and ktc a try.
Now you have only lasted a few days before caving. You are even contemplating the use of the e cigg,,(which you might as well stay on the patch in that case ).
How can I say this loudly enough with words so that you will understand. Pretend i'm on a stage with your favorite drugged out, drunk, smoking dope, nicotine fed band. I have a microphone and everytime I sing you can barely hear me because i'm so loud and can't sing. I come to the mic and this is what I say.... (((((((((((NICOTINE REPLACEMENT THERAPY DOES NOT WORK DINGLEBERRY))))))).......
You want to get a hold of this addiction you have to trust and stay the course. I'm 142 days quit and feel absolutely fabulous. To get where i'm at you have to stay quit. Stop being an idiot. Keep your head pointed forward, don't look back. One day at a time woahbot. My patience is wearing thin with you my man. You have three questions to answer. Don't cave again!!!!

Woahbot doesn't really want to quit. He wants someone/something to quit for him so he doesn't have to do the work. Man up dude! Grow a pair and invest in yourself! This may be the most important thing you ever do for yourself and your family. You can do it, but it isn't easy. We can help, but you gotta be all in for yourself. If you want it, you can do it.

So, you have an intro here with nearly 2000 views and over 100 replies. Yet,
i feel like i need to make an emotional connection with you guys. i need someone to reach out to when im struggling.
anyone out there?
Methinks you aren't reading a damn word or even trying to be quit here.
The KTC can be the biggest, baddest weapon in your arsenal, BUT IT IS UP TO YOU TO PULL THE TRIGGER. Stop wasting our time if you want to suckle at the tit of nicotine.
Do you want to be quit?

I have reached out( I even sent you a PM on the 3rd asking if you needed digits but no response about needing them) to you so many times and for you to say one comment about not having support or needing support is just horse shit...you have been a pussy from day one and you remain one. I suggest you do some real soul searching and reread your thread there is more support in that thread then in most. Others that come on here don't get the support you got and remain quit. They want it that's how they do it. No excuses no nothing they face addiction head on and quit like fuck. I am done with you I will focus my energy on my quit and brothers that don't shit on what this site is about. I hope you quit...yep I can use the word hope with you it is not a mistake in its use...if you read this site you will know what hope is about. later days Woahpuss...

This person (can not bring myself to use the term "man") uses this site like a kitten ( correct term) uses a ball of yarn. Entertainment only.

Doesn't use the site at all. More like abuses or shits on the site!

Nothing to see here... let's move along and find someone interested in beating this addiction...

Wtf. I kept seeing this thread and didn't want to read it because I though it was just about a dude who couldn't get it up or something.
Finally I looked at it and read it today.
Are you serious with this shit?
This guys a panty waste.
He kinda wants to quit but wants it to be really easy, and when its not, and he caves, he comes back here as if NOBODY had given him ANY advice and almost blames us for lack of support and then asks for "the magic seceret" as if there is one.
There is not.
Grow up dude. Seriously. This isn't a site for nut cupping, atta-boys, and "good try, good effort" back pats.
There's sites for that. Quitsmokless.com is where the pussies go.
Pack your shit and head over there. They will stroke you off and help you with your ed. Every time you fail with a patch on your arm, a cig in your mouth, a dip in your lip they suckle your sack and tell you its ok, and to climb back on that quit horse and give it another try, buckaroo!!! 3 days was GREAT!!! Maybe next time you can make it 5 days or even a week!!!!! Weeeeeeeee!!!!
Seriously, I think you have proven this site is not for you. You got some GREAT support/advice from some people who truly care and know how to quit.
You shit all over them. You ought to be ashamed of yourself for multiple reasons. Sad part is I don't think you are.
Best of LUCK to you.
