Hey my name is Mason and I'm currently on day 7 of being quit. I'm a senior in highschool and started when I was a freshman. I was introduced to chew during football by some guys on the team. I liked it and got addicted. During the summers I would chew a can every day at work at the golf course. This year I messed up my foot in our last football game and eventually had to get surgery. After surgery I felt like crap and never felt like chewing! I couldn't really go get it either because I couldn't drive. This lasted for about a month; but then one day at a basketball game I gave in and took a dip with one of my friends . I had forgotten how good it was and started up again. A few weeks later I turned 18 and could buy my own chew so of course I didn't want to quit. One day I was doing homework and took a dip as usual while doing homework. I felt like a piece of crap after and was tired of hiding it from my parents for so long. That's when I found this site and decided to make a change. I read some stories about guys who had friends die from it and didn't want to become another statistic. That's about all there is to know about me. I hope I get to know some of you better and can talk/give eachother advice!

Welcome aboard dude. I'm a 36 year user and i'm on my 73rd day of quit. It really is tough the first couple of weeks but if you have the determination you can do it. The trick is to promise us, your brothers, that you will not use today by posting roll. Be a man of your word and keep your promise. When you wake up tomorrow do the same shit all over again. It' One DAy AT a Time around here. It works. Trust me. If I can stay quit 73 days, so can you. Check your in box, I've sent you my numbers if you need to call.

Mason...your intro has hit very hard with me. My story is identical to yours. If I could go back in time I would have told that young fool (ME!) to never start. I played baseball in high school and started dipping as a freshmen. I never Quit until Dec. 2012. That was 23 fucking years ago!!!
Stop now while you can. It will be much easier to Quit at 18 then 39. You will save THOUSANDS of dollars. You should take $5.00 a day and put in a mutual fund until age 40. You'll probaby be able to retire ....of course all of the health issues you'll
Mason.....Stop it now brother. Don't be like me...a 39 year high school baseball player who still dips. Stop now. You can do it one day at time. It was a blessing that you found this website. Good luck. I know you can do it! KC Bronco

You don't want to be another statistic, I like that logic. Then, QUIT and fucking stay QUIT. Statistics would probably say a kid your age doesn't have the balls enough to quit, and will probably give into peer pressure as you have already, like at a basketball game or something.
If you're really serious about quitting then this is the right place. I know personally I will do all I can to help you quit. If I could go back in time in punch myself in the face a million times every time I put in a dip at such a young age, I would. But I can't. So I would like to help you.
Either your the smartest, bad ass mother fucker in your class for actually wanting and seeking out help to quit, or your fucking around and just feeling bad knowing you shouldn't be doing something behind your parents back.
Either way, I'll take a chance on you and I bet a lot of other guys will too.
Read, read, and read some more. Post roll every morning before school. Add to your intro as a journal. Get phone numbers of guys in your group, go to chat if you're struggling, PM me or anyone else anytime if you have a question. Educate yourself on the enemy. Go all in like your balls are on fire. You get stuck, have a bad day, need to rage, need to cry...turn to us. We are here to help.
Be a man. Beat this shit NOW, before it's too late.

Mason,
Ditto to what the prior posters have said. Congrats on taking this step. I wish I had come across a resource like KTC when I was 18 years old. Now is the time to quit. Otherwise, tomorrow becomes next Monday, next Monday becomes next month and the next thing you know, you are like us 10, 20, 30+ years later.
Keep up the quit. Post roll and tell your friends you are quit.

Don't be like me...a 39 year high school baseball player who still dips.
I hope KC Bronco meant to say that he is quit.
Welcome Schellster. I agree that you should read anything and everything on this site. The formula here is simple. Wake up, post roll to promise to not use nicotine in any way shape or form for the day, KEEP YOUR WORD, then repeat tomorrow.
There are litterally thousands of guys here that are going through the same shit as you, or have already gone through it. There are thousands of guys on this site who will be there to help you in whatever way you need. Embrace this.
Again, if you get a crave, login and read something. The intro threads are great because you will realize that you are not alone. The HOF speeches are great inspiration. Snoop around in the quitter groups to see how we make it through the day. Live Chat was, and continues to be, my savior.
I'm glad your here. I hope you stay.

Don't worry I'm not messing around. I'm serious as hell about quitting. I'll make sure to read a lot about it too.

I've told all my friends that I'm quit and I will continue to post roll call every morning. I know what you mean about saying you'll quit one day and it turns into next week.

Thanks man. The last two weekends I've partied but it helps my friends there know I'm quitting and don't ask me to dip or anything. I seriously don't know what I would do without you guys. Hoping to get other friends to quit too. Girls take my mind off of it pretty good!

Things are going great. I can go to parties now and not worry about giving into the temptation of dipping. I've inspired at least one of my friends at school to quit. I'll have to tell him about KTC. Wouldn't be as easy without you all!
