Hello there friends my name is Brandon I have been dipping grizzly for 7 years and I'm only 22.. I decided a few days ago to quit and I have officially been without a dip for 24 hours I know that's nothing special but its a start, I have noticed already tho I have 2 sores popping up and its kinda worrying me a little so any info on if that's normal would be great and I hope it gets easier then it is right now because this is awful..and details on ways to make it easier would be great as well and info on sores is needed thank you guys!!
-
I would also like to point out I have had no sense of hunger this past day is that normal to feel sick to stomach or just nauseous?? Any info at all would be of tremendous help thanks

Brandon welcome to the site, I am not proficient in creating link here so I am cutting and pasting some info a fellow quitter has typed in another post for your ease of finding your way around.
I'm going to break this down as easy as I can for someone who isn't as computer literate as the rest of us.
First and foremost, glad you are here. If you want to take your life back and not be a slave to the can anymore you have come to the right place.
On this site, everyday you will do what is called "posting roll". This is your daily promise to yourself, me, and everyone else that you will not use any nicotine at all. Do it EVERYDAY, without fail. I think you are a man of your word, so by putting that promise out there first thing every morning, you are taking buying a can off the table or bumming a pinch off of someone else. This is a zero nicotine site. No patches or gum.
Here are some links to help you get started. Click on each of the highlighted words, read everything you can, then come back here and continue on to the next step.
First, read the Welcome Center. (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showforum=13) This will tell you how and why the site works. Click on each of the items in there and read carefully.
Next, click here and learn how to post roll. (http://www.killthecan.org/roll) This is a short video that shows you exactly how to post roll. You might need to watch it a few times.
Lastly, this will be your quit group. (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=6639) It is October 2012. October is when you would hit 100 days quit and therefore enter the Hall of Fame. Post roll in there. Ask questions. Tell everyone how you feel.
I urge you beyond the three things I mentioned above to read as much as you can. There is a wealth of information that can help you along your path. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of people who are willing to help you stay quit. Utilize their knowledge, both about how to use the website and how to stay quit.
My name is Mark and I am quit with you today.

There are many different ways that quitting affects the body, my best advice is to read in the web page for killthecan.org the topic on what to expect when quitting it has a lot of information that is helpful, dont panic, you've done a good thing by coming in here. Post roll EVERY DAY! keep and honor your word! Stay quit with all of us!

Brandon.. It Gooch.. day 22... First few days are rough! hang in there.. you can do this now and save yourself another 20 plus years of wear and tear and literally thousands of dollars in surgery costs and dip itself.. you made it past 24 hours that was huge.. now just use the site.. glad you are here.. Gooch

CONGRATS!!! As for the sores, click on this http://www.killthecan.org/yourquit/symptoms.asp (http://www.killthecan.org/yourquit/symptoms.asp)
I didn't get sores when I quit, but I hear they are quite common. If they last longer than a few days, get them checked out.
You made a great choice. Let us help you stay quit. Post roll, read all you can and embrace your new life!!!

I keep seeing this thing called post roll but I only have access to this site via my phone and I can't view video on how to do it, but I am 2 days quit no cave just a bunch of awful thoughts and worries

I just asked one of the "smart" ones to see if he can help here, i am not that tech savvy, sorry, still learning this stuff myself.
-
Brandon,
I kinda doubt that you can post roll on your phone because you have the cut and paste previous posts. Maybe on an iphone you can do it... but I haven't tried yet. Do you not have access to a computer?

What kind of phone do you have?
-
If you have to post roll from a phone, best thing to do is to avoid posting roll like we normally do and just do a fresh post in the quit group.
Wedgie - day 85. Someone add me to roll please.
Like that.

OK gotcha that's a lot easier, its a pay as you go phone boostmobile..

I was doing a oral exam on myself ( I can't seem to stop messing with my mouth) and I noticed I lump about pea size I can move it a little about a inch up or down its right under a tooth I have been freaking out nonstop, its not noticeable by looking but I can feel it, any others having that info would help thank you guys for any help asap
-
Brandon... I don't think we have any dentists here. So no one can really give you a definite answer. If you see a dentist, the best thing to do is to go see him. It could be something serious ( I seriously doubt it) but it would probably calm your mind to get a clean bill of health

Got see a doctor. Put your mind at a rest.

I still have bumps that i cant see but can feel, but seriously, the only way to get peace of mind is to go see a dentist and get an oral cancer exam. Its really the only way you will start to relax, stay quit, post roll, keep going, you can do it!

Dearest Brando:
LOOT has been in your shoes. Not with a lump, but with a persistent (3-4 months) sore throat. Worrying incessantly. Making deals with JC. Being clean for a couple months before the ENT appt. Saying a prayer before going in, "If it's not cancer, LOOT'll quit for good, promise". Only to get cleared and stop at the C-Store on the way home. No shit. Addicts are a fuct up lot.
Skip the dentist. Make an appt with an ENT or an oral cancer specialist. LOOT's sure it's nothing...but get your ass in there nonetheless. Pronto. And...whatever you do, don't take a clean bill of health as a green light to continue to feed your addiction.
Cancer is black and white. You either have it or you don't. One dip starts the reaction that leads to you eating from a straw while you disfigured face heals from a surgeons scalpel. Don't temp fate.
You are probably here because you are scared shitless. We've all experienced that feeling. You are not alone in that fact...nor are you alone in quitting. These people can and will save you from your own stupid self if you care enough to let them.
One day at a time bro. You can do it. You have to do it. Make that appt.
Your friend in clean,
LOOT

See the problem is I have no insurance so its so hard to get in to see a doctor or dentist about the lump, it could be from where I dipped on that side for so long its sunk in farther then other side, I have no white patches no sore throat no bleeding or bad sores, its just ever since I threw the can down I have been freaking out about it nonstop what if it's to late what if it doesn't matter if I throw the can down, its worried me so much past 2 1/2 days I have worried so bad that my wife has to old me like a lil baby while I fight back tears I just dunno what to do

Totally been there and done that, crying like dead already and all, loot is right, see an ENT, ear nose throat specialist. I dont have insurance either, but call around and find out some cash prices, may have to pay a little more for first visit, I got into one a few years back and cost me 140, after that its like 80 some bucks to get in, its quick painless and worth the cash for the peace of mind. if you chewed even a can a day at $5 a can its only one month to pay for it, so spend it in advance knowing you will be saving it back soon.

Brandon,
Go get your mouth checked out. I got so worried early on that I went to the doctor, dentist, another doctor, the ER, another doctor. I wound up going to my family doctor so much she finally told me to stop coming in.
I would wake up every morning and inspect my mouth endlessly. I had a flashlight, mirror, tounge depressers right by the sink and would do a mouth inspection every morning. I even had my wife checking every now and then.
I had the same questions you did, am I too late, what if I have already fuct myself and my family, etc... the games you mind will play on you are endless. The fact is with all my trips to the doctor they found nothing, I was spending money unnecessarily. I was also freaking myself and my family out for no reason, I had to learn to control the voices in my head. You can do the same thing.
Go get yourself checked out so you know you are fine. Then begin working on the games you are playing with yourself. You CAN quit dipping, You CAN control your anxiety, You CAN live a life free from tobacco.
I was you, I remember it vividly. Continue to post roll and stay clean. Work out the problems as you go.
We are here if you need us.
STAY QUIT
Greg

Do you mean right on your jawline, lump that moves around? If so, mine has been swollen and sore a lot with no major issues. I lost my teeth to Kodiak and Grizzley. Lots of pain over 18 years but no "C" thank God. Hope your journey goes as well as it can. Try to stay strong.

The best thing you can do it take a deep breath, and schedule an appointment with a dentist andbe very up front with them. The longer you run away from this the worse it will get in your mind and you will need to a psychatrist in addition to the dentist.
Seriously, we all have done it, the dentist will embrace the quit and give you more help than you know.

Klark is right. You have got to take a deep breath and calm down. All of us have battled the what ifs, the voices in our head. Anxiety is a common problem amongst us quitters, but it can be controlled.
I went to my dentist at my day 30ish. I was so scared of what she would find I did not sleep the entire night before. My daily mouth inspections had found something every time I looked, but they all ended up being NOTHING to the medical pros.
Got to the dentist and told the girl doing my check up I had quit. They did a series of X-rays around my head to check for tumors etc. Everything came back clean. They cleaned my grill up and congradulated me on quitting.
I got to see all of the hottie dental assistants becuase they all wanted to see the new bad ass quitter. The dentist asked me to drop some information off about the site and I got to call my wife and tell her I was Clean !!
Many of us have been where you are. Go get the exam. Then start working on controlling your anxiety. Above all STAY QUIT.
The only thing Nicotine is good for is keeping you addicted to Nicotine.
STAY QUIT
