Title: Just finishing my 38th day without,
Post by: poke on January 28, 2008, 06:43:00 PM
but a stressful day at work seems to be bringing those familiar old cravings to the fore. I guess it might be time to stop lurking and say howdy.

What to say? Chewed for 10+/- years anywhere from 1/2 to 1 can per day. Skoal products almost exclusively, though a plug of Levi Garrett always seemed appropriate when I was tromping about after fish or fowl. Started on Wintergreen, it was dad's flavor of choice, but switched to Straight after I found that it didn't make for as wicked a hangover.

I've quit multiple times, but this one is different for some reason. For the first time I don't find myself looking back in fondness to my chewing days and when I see someone chewing I don't think "Look at that lucky SOB, I wish I were him." I can't put my finger on the reason, but I know my quitting will take this time. I suspect maturity and responsibility have finally caught up with me, but whatever the reason I'm glad.

Anyway, that's about it. Good luck to us all.
