I'm 27, married with a beautiful 2yr old daughter. I love my girls and I need to be there for them. This habit is selfish, and I tell myself I'm a good provider and protector but I need to face the facts here. If I'm killing myself everyday, what kind of father and husband does that make me?
I'm quitting to save my life, not just for me, but for my wife and daughter who deserve to have me around.
I'm quitting to save the $300 or so I spend on killing myself every month. Im going to put that $ in a drawer to see what I was throwing away.
I'm quitting to prove to myself that I can do it.

Welcome. First, know going into it that it WILL SUCK. Second, no one ever DIED from nicotine withdrawal. Third, Post roll EARLY every day (takes your option to cave away, unless you want to LIE to your brothers the Sultans -- who don't take kindly to being lied to). Fourth, find a few (dozen) Sultans to link up with; exchange numbers; promise them that before you even think about putting crap in your face you will call to get their permission (hint -- doubtful they'll give you permission). Fifth -- READ. There's a ton of good info on this site, how to fight cravings, why you are all jacked up even AFTER the 72 hours or so it takes to get the nicotine physically out of your system. Reading imparts knowledge; knowledge imparts power; power enables control; take control over this thing. But it's up to you to seek it out. Sixth -- ASK. Us Sultans are not shy about giving advice, and the veterans round here are friggin awesome. Seventh -- stay plugged into this site for at least the first week.

As grizzly stated your free now my friend. Take a deep breath and suck in that dignity your taking back right this second. Look no further than this second sparky. It's going to be rough for a little while, but it gets a lot easier as soon as you start taking it one day at a time. The first few days suck, but embrace it. Dig deep and take that freedom back. The poison don't just give it back, you gotta take it.
Get that roll posted as soon as you can. Give your word and keep it. Failure is not an option! Quit with you today.
