Title: Quitting from Wyoming
Post by: BigOil on May 20, 2014, 01:42:00 AM
Hello all,

I just threw out all my tobacco/nicotine products and am ready to quit this shit for good. I work in the oil field in Wyoming, so pretty much everybody I know is a dipper or smoker. I have been chewing for 6ish years now and I am sick of it and ready to move on. I have tried to go it on my own for the last few months with no success. A couple years ago I managed to quit for 7 months before I fell back into it 'bang head' . This time I am done for good and I will use this site to help with that. I know the rough road that is ahead of me and I am prepared to deal with it again. Lets get this shit started!!!

Here is your quit group - Pre-HOF Aug 14. (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/10225414/19/?x=90#new) If you need any help in there, just shoot me a PM

The core of this site is posting roll daily and posting early - it's your promise not to use nicotine that day.

This page is for general information (http://forum.killthecan.org/forum/55560/)

The road ahead of you is a helluva ride - expect roughly this timeline (http://www.killthecan.org/your-quit/what-to-expect-when-you-quit-dipping/) and expect basically all these symptoms at some point. (http://www.killthecan.org/your-quit/symptoms-of-quitting-dip-chew/)

Above all, post roll. Wondering how? Read this  (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/1003072/1/) page or watch this video (http://www.killthecan.org/roll/).

Here are some things that got me through the initial "suck period":

I am tired of spending 4$ a day at the gas station for something that is killing me. I don't have nearly the energy I used to, I know it is dip that's doing it too. When I had quit a couple years ago I noticed a huge difference in my energy levels. That is probably the biggest reason for quitting, after not dying of course.

Learn to hate it. Hate tobacco, hate nicotine, and just quit.  Flush it all down the drain and post day one with me.

If you post day one though, I expect you to be serious and stay with it. I will hold you to it.

It's 1:30 am here, so I'm hopping off. If you need a number or site guidance, shoot me a PM and I'll help you get started.

Welcome BigOil... If you're serious about quitting you're in the right place. Post roll everyday, get numbers and start building your web of accountability, and actually listen to what the people here have to say because this fuckin works.

We're both in the Aug quit group and I'll stay quit with you today. PM me if you need a number or anything.

August as well, welcome. Get involved, read a lot. Water in the gallons plus range is your friend. Saw this posted on my day 1, so true: If you pass by a bathroom without having to piss, you're not drinking enough water.

You have been around since 5/19 and you only have 5 posts?

Get active, it helps immensely.
