Well it's day 3 of my quit aaaaand I feel like crap, I have decided to join up for support and accountability, and to give those to others in their efforts to break free of the control of chew. I just wanted to say hey and that I'm scared shitless but also serious about never having another chew. I work as a firefighter in Arizona and I first started chewing when I joined the Marines back in 1998, I have tried to quit in the past and failed. This time will be different because now i have a son and I do not to influence him into a life of servitude to the can. Happy to be here.

Good2go,
Welcome to the site and Thank you for your service to our country and as a first responder.
You have made a wise choice to quit. Head over to the April 2019 Quit Group HERE (https://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?topic=916.2160), find the most recent roll post, hit quote and make your promise then hit post.
Keep your word for the next 24 hours and come back here and do it again. Make your promise everyday, early in your day so nicotine is off the table. We quit for One Day at a Time here. Quitting forever is really hard but quitting for a day is pretty easy.
As a firefighter, you probably have to work odd hours sometimes, so let someone in your group know so they aren't trying to hunt you down to post when you haven't even woken up yet for the day.
Start exchanging digits with other quitters in your group as well some of the vets. This will build your accountability and brotherhood network and it gives you instant access to support if you need it. My digits are in your inbox.
Proud to quit with you today,
Chris

Welcome aboard Good2go. You're in good company. If you're serious about that last chew then you're in the right place.
You are dealing with an addiction, not a habit. Make no mistake about that. Educate yourself about it.
I've some links in my signature line to help you get started. Knowledge is power, ignorance is terribly expensive.
Get digits from the guys in your group and start building your web of accountability; you'll be glad that you did.
We can't quit for you, we will quit with you.

Congrats on taking your life back and welcome to April. I used to work as an EMT way back in the day for a summer and firefighters sure did know how to cook up some bbq! Look up Hilltop in our group, he's a firefighter. Anyways, the first 7 days really suck. Lots of craving, some raging (rage on us), and a sprinkle of insomnia did it for me. Haha. You've got this, this site is loaded with info and also tons of really awesome quitters who will help you along the way. Get involved, get some digits from April and vets, and post your promise to us every day. Rinse and repeat.

Welcome to the quit team Good2go, proud to be quit with you. I’m a volunteer FF, EMR here in Ohio. Not my full time job, but it keeps me busy and out of trouble. If you need anything, I think you can see you have support a short message, and hopefully text or call away. Share some digits with a few folks as they help keep you accountable. I’ve made some awesome connections in the two short weeks I’ve been here. They have made all difference between a cave and continued success.
