Hello,
My name is Mike I live in Minnesota. I have been married for 6 years and have one daughter. I have been dipping since 2010. I started in the Marine Corps, after making it 3 years enlisted without ever even trying the stuff. I have been hooked ever since I had that first buzz that put me on the floor. Skoal citrus, I think it was. As a Marine I naturally started dipping cope long cut like everybody else. It's been 5 years now and I'm tired of wasting my money, killing myself, grossing out my family and having to hide my addiction from people. I have quit for a couple months at a time here and there in the past, but I don't think I ever really wanted to quit. I just liked the idea of quitting.
This time is different. I flushed my full can I just bought down the toilet (which was kind of liberating), dumped my spitter and threw away the empty cans I had hidden in my work bag where my wife won't find them. I am here because I want a support system to help see me through this and hold me accountable.
Thanks for reading

Wow! Great intro!
You have the mindset in place. Ktc works very simply. We quit as a team. You join a quit group (someone will post some links to help with this) and first thing every day you post your promise to yourself and your group that for that day, you will remain nicotine free. And if you are a man of integrity, by God you will keep your word. You are clearly a man of integrity.
Dude you are gonna get a lot of great advice, you are gonna hear about how great the future will be and how things are gonna suck for a while but they will get better. All 100% true. I will just say this...
You are addicted to a powerfully addictive neurotoxin. As addictive as heroin. And a can if your cope has the same nicotine levels as 3 packs of cigarettes. No pain, no gain. Quitting isn't easy dude. But, you'll only do it once. Join your group, make some contacts, and do it right. It is the best thing you have ever done for yourself. I quit with you today sir.

This is where it's at brah. Don't lie bro, you about cried and shit yourself when you flushed the can didn't you? Look, 20 something thousand people here have been where you are right now. This is where lives are changed and I'm glad you came here. I flushed several cans on Dec 27th, and these guys helped me never buy one again, period.
Dude find your group, do some reading, and if you can figure out how to post, do it. PM me (very top right) or find me in live chat.
Go Army!

Good start, but please find your group and post roll.

How's the first day coming along? Given any thought to joining your quit group? I know it sounds kinda lame dude, I didn't get it when I first posted. 800+ days later... It makes sense. Kinda like 1 man on the beach in Normandy might have been able to pull it off (big if) but with a strong dedicated single focus team, the impossible is possible.
You can do this. If I can help just shot me a pm. Freedom is a wonderful thing.

Alright Marine....stopping fucking around and Post Roll in the July Quit Group....if you have done anything right lately, it was to Quit dipping and join KTC......now figure out how to post roll and start making that promise....your quit group will be not unlike your former squad...they will grab you by the short hairs and drag you thru this...and you will do the same for them...if you don't show up and post roll for a day - they will track you down....you should understand accountability....thats what this is all about
Every Damn Day you will wake up / piss / Post Roll / make a promise to yourself and your Quit Group that you will not use nicotine for that day....Repeat next day and every day for the rest of your life
Go to the Welcome Center...forum/55560/....item (http://forum.killthecan.org/forum/55560/....item) #3 shows you how to post roll........if you don't understand it at first - don't worry about it...everyone, and i mean everyone fucks up roll at the beginning....the important thing is you get into your quit group and attempt to post roll....if you fuck it up...someone will be coming behind you to clean it up.....the only way to truly fuck up roll is to not post roll
One Day At A Time brother....thats it....simple....now post roll
