Good afternoon all,
My name is Sean and this is my second attempt at quitting. I guess lucky for me the new company I work for has a strict no tobacco policy and even though the past couple months I have been sneaking chew its hard and has made me constantly paranoid. Its going to be so much easier to just not dip and not worry about getting written up. I have been dipping a large chunk of my life. Recently I started noticing my 1 can of dip a week had turned into 1 a day in fact I wasn't making it a hour between dips without headaches. Its come to a head I'm done this poison has taken over my life.
According to my fiance I haven't dipped in 2 years little did she know that under the front seat of my car was a can calling my name. I was always able to hide keep a tab on my emotions during the weekend knowing that the agitation was just my body trying to get me to dip on the days I spent with her. I found myself getting haircuts one week after another or having to help my parents with more home projects than any elderly couple could possibly hope for. I'm done lying to people.

You got the general idea in posting, just incorrect format. Look in the WELCOME CENTER, lots of gems in there. 3 simple rules:
1. No nicotine in any form
2. Post roll every damn day
3. Repeat
Read around here, the first 4 days are the worst, it is what it is and unfortunately, it's your fault. But, we're all big boys and girls here, we can do this. Explain to your significant other why you might be acting a bit out of sorts in the near future. The truth will set you free. Proud to have you with us in May, welcome aboard!
p.s. Don't go it alone, reach out to others on this forum.

Smoot, you came to the right place. Slug.go laid it all out for you. He's a great quitter and he is in your quit group. It's a simple recipe, follow the path. If you follow it faithfully you will succeed. Come clean with your wife too, she'll be your biggest supporter.
Congrats on quitting!!

Smoot-I don't have much to add. My brothers and sister below have set you on the only path I ever found to stay quit. Heed their words. They know what they are talking about. I can tell you that one of the best things ( there are a ton of them) about quitting dip is that you can finally end all the lying and sneaking around. Just part of the freedom that is waiting for you.

It's not gonna be any easier to quit than to hide. I'm concerned that the companies policy is more of a motivator to quit than your desire. Prove me wrong, but I've seen way to many addicts come here with really good intentions of quitting only to fade away and cave. I'm in no way trying to discourage you but rather stimulate in you added boost to get your quit going. I have quite a bit of understanding of this process. I hid my addiction from everyone for over 40 years and most of that time I really wanted to quit but just couldn't do it. 687 days ago I found my lifesaver, KTC and have quit every day since. I challenge you to commit to posting roll 100% for 100 days, help other quitters, reach out and get numbers of others and drink the koolaid.

Good job on your day 2. I worked for three years with a strict no tobacco policy. It never stopped me, only made me better at hiding it.
If you haven't, start reading brother. Read everything you can on your addiction/nicotine. There is a lot of information on this site. Knowledge is power. I received the desire to really quit after I began filling my head with the facts. How/what/why will make your quit stronger and give you the boost to make this quit for real. Not doubting your quit, I just know that laws and rules can only keep you so long. You have to really want this. Quitting comes from deep. Quit with you today.

Saw your post in the May group today regarding what to expect...not sure how to "quote it here" but it is what I am responding to.
First 72 has the poison out of your system, and the symptoms you are feeling, "the fog" are normal and will pass. It varies for each of us in duration. I felt really distracted for a full month, but some guys feel it lift sooner and others longer. Most important thing to do is read. Check out the section "what to expect" it gives a nice outline. Either way, you only have to ever worry about today. Can you keep your promise today? Wake up tomorrow and repeat.
Congrats on a great decision to be Quit!

In roll this morning, you post that it was easy. I guess you must be a special butterfly because quitting for me is the toughest thing I have ever done in my life. I have ruptured multiple discs in my back and endured thousands of hours of constant pain shooting down both of my legs, yet quitting for me is harder than that was.
I truly hope it is as easy for you as you say it is. Do not get cocky! That is the nic bitch fucking with you. "This is easy, you got this whipped, you can quit anytime" and before too long there you are with a dip in.
Fuck that!!!!

Smootie, lets post roll early bro. 6:56pm is lazy and not committed. Lets make quitting a priority and not get complacent. I worked over 80 hours last week, 100% roll posted myself. If I had been to busy, I would have texted my promise in to a brother. We quit all day here bro, NOT at the end of the day. Quit on
