In a world of trolls and snarky online comments I was blown away with the support of the brothers (and sisters) on this site. You guys have something really powerful and important going on here and I'm honored to be a part of it!
I'm 32, been dipping for about 10 years but today is day 13 sans dip for me. Based on some peer influence I started with Red Man midway through college then moved on to Skoal and eventually Copie LC. Let's be honest, I absolutely loved dipping. At my peak tobacco consumption I was probably doing about 2 tins a week but more recently was down to 1 tin every 1.5 weeks. Chew first thing after breakfast, chew before lunch, chew after lunch, chew around 4 and chew several times after dinner. When thinking about an activity or task I would immediately imagine how great a chew was going to be while doing it. Golfing, fishing, driving, watching sports, watching a movie, DRINKING, you name it. Always gauging my nights out based on whether or not I'd be able to chew comfortably or not. I don't have to tell you guys it makes you it's bitch and doesn't let go.
Well, while I have a lot to be proud of being two weeks tobacco free, there is still cause for some concern. I'm having some dull numbness and discomfort around my left chin area and on the left side of my face/sideburn area. It will come and go for a few days at a time and then go away and it doesn't hurt per se but just feels "weird". Has anyone else experienced this? I hate to google diagnose cause you can literally drive yourself crazy but based on what I've read online I'm fearing the worst. I'm heading to the dentist on friday to check me out and I guess I'll just go from there.
I'm still young I still have so much more to give to this world. Please keep me in your thoughts and thank you in advance for your support.

Prayers for you brother. I wouldn't get to worked up over it tho bc everyone here has experienced all sorts of weird "mouth /jaw things" since they quit. Congrats on deciding to take back your life from the Nic beyatch. Find your quit group and post roll early and often. Don't miss a day. And remember your only quitting for today, not tomorrow. Never look back, never look ahead. Just head down and win the day. If you need my digits pm me. Proud to be on this journey with you

Welcome Peaches, you have made a wise decision. Make sure you don't have any leftover cans hidden away that you may have forgotten about. Post roll in your quit group every day, swap numbers with others and make connections. Build a wall of accountability between you and nicotine. Find something to take it's place when doing those activities that once required a dip to enjoy. If you need anything send a pm and I would gladly give you my number.

welcome and great choice to quit...reading your post validates the way I felt - always looking forward too and looking for excuses to dip-I am on day 5 and have felt like i had a frozen face at times some jaw numbness and tingling - also mouth is slow in healing but it will pass...headaches come and go to...but it all will pass....stay on the course of no more nicotine forever...it's a hard DETOX our bodies are fighting to crave to pull us back in - but we will win in the end..

Learn how to post roll. We can help you, but we need your promise on the most recent roll call first.

At the end of my tobacco career, I was snusing heavily. when I stopped, my upper lip, under my nose, always felt swollen and numb. I'm no doctor, but I think you'll be fine. For the first 7 weeks after I quit, it felt like my teeth were wiggling in my head, literally. Like they were Mexican jumping beans. I used to try and wiggle them with my fingers because I would swear on my life they were falling out. the weirdest sensation ever. It passed. I was really freaked out though. I will tell you this though, never forget how scared you are right now. Thinking about cancer which is real. So many people find out they're OK and say, "Oh, I'm good, I can keep dipping". It will catch up to you.
Dig in hard and fight this addiction, because that's what it is! An awful addiction, not some silly little habit like keeping your left hand in your pocket at church while you stare at the blonde reading scripture... It's much worse than that! You got this brother. Post roll every day and keep your promise for the day. Whatever you do, do not break your promise to us. no man of his word breaks a promise. wait a minute.... Peaches... Maybe you had your right hand in your pocket and were staring at an alter boy! Whatever your gender, STAY QUIT! We're here for you.

great thing that you are quitting!! I am currently 17 days into my quit, and can say I expeirenced alot of what you are expieriencing. I am 32 years old. I dipped for more than 12 years. i was a can to 2 cans per day. I would feel wierd feelings in my jaw and chin alot when i first quit. They have seemed to go away. But Stay close to this site, post your role everyday, get didits from someone, and stay quit.

We offer good support here, but the cost of admission is posting roll.
Learn how to do that here (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/1003072/1/#new).
Don't worry about screwing it up, the only way to screw up roll is by not being on it. You'll get the hang of it after a few days, we all did.
Based on your quit date of 13 days ago, you'll be in the February quit group, which can be found here (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/30053935/154/).

Ok peaches, you may think you got this alone but myself and 28000 will tell you different! Post roll and don't do this alone, it's so much easier with help!

One post really... where did you go?
If you chewed every day, then why aren't you on the site everyday?
Show me that you want it, post roll, and get active...
Until then I am your troll...
