Title: Time to Quit
Post by: Hotdog on May 11, 2016, 03:29:00 PM
I watched a video that someone put out on youtube, and it was talking about why you should quit smoking. It went on to say can you give me one good reason other than it being a habit to keep doing it. I couldn't! Back in the old days, it would give me a headrush, calm my nerves when I was nervous, but now it does none of these things. Now it is nothing more than the habit of sticking the dip in my mouth. So after 20+ years, it's time to say goodbye to Copenhagen. I haven't had a dip since May 5, since quitting, my throat is extremely sore, and I have developed a hacking cough, not to mention the sleeplessness and fog. From what I have read all of this is normal, so I will continue to press on. Semper Fi.

Welcome HotDog! I'm on day 10 after about 25 years of chewing. I still have a sore jaw and throat and have developed a cough in the last few days, but overall I feel much better. Hang in there. If you want someone's digits just PM me.

WELCOME! Please, post roll daily and make your promise to yourself and to us that you quit. What is a man without his promise?

Tons of water will help you with your withdrawals.

Congrats on the good start Hotdog. Lots of water and exercise will help with the withdrawal symptoms. By the way, bad habits don't cause withdrawals, so lets call this what it is. An addiction to nicotine. Recognizing that fact changes the nature of the fight. Welcome to the ODAAT EDD mentality.
