Good job Dude! I wish I would have quit at 20. It just gets worse and worse if you keep going. I used to not even want to look at my gums when I was brushing my teeth. It was fuckin retarded. You're at the age where a lot of people still think it's cool and relatively harmless to dip. Trust me and the rest of the guys on this site...it's not. Don't let others talk you into caving.

Be strong this time. Be committed this time. Do it for your future. Don't be a 30+ year dipper like me and decide to quit after your kids are in college. QUIT before you have kids so they won't be effected by your dipping.

Yo, Buckshooter, I don't know you, I've only been around here for 2 weeks or so. I can tell you this, I have some experience with another 12-step program and I used to see guys come and go, come and go.

It got to the point when they came back each time that you wanted to commit less and less of your time to them each time, because you just felt like it was a waste of your effort.

You say you have caved many times and that this time is for sure but to me I don't see rock bottom. I didn't really see anything in your post asking for help or ways you can do things differently.

I hope you are serious and would love for you to make it with me and our other July brothers.

Thanks for all the responses guys i appreciate the support..I have a history of drinking to much than popping a chew in. So I should stay away from the beer for awhile. Bottom line is that i need to be a stronger person and not cave in to the can. i am gonna keep the mind set that one leads to a couple cans a week...But yah to answer your question i always screw up when i party..Which is no excuse i just need to be strong! Let me know what you think give me feedback. I am gonna make it July brothers!

It's really hard to read tone on internet, but I'd rate your sincerity as a 3 out of 10. I'm not going to worry myself with your quit. Waste of both your and my time.

Prove me wrong if you'd like, but you're not quitting for me. Hopefully, you're quitting for you.

I'll give you some feedback since I missed you earlier today!!! WTF are you going to do different this time??? All I've heard so far from you is that you party too much and when you drink you cave!!!! If that's so are you going to quit partying????? Sounds to me like youv'e already made up your mind that the next party you go to you are going to bring a can with you!!! That's not quitting, that's just playing russian roulette!!!! If your serious about quitting, then make a plan, figure out what your triggers are, then avoid those situations, know what you are going to do when a crave comes on, seeds, gum, fake stuff, etc... have numbers to call and get permission from your quit brothers to cave first. And most important of all post roll daily and fucking mean it!!!! Until you have a plan and quit abusing yourself you word is no good here!!!!! 'finger point'

There is the nugget Buckshooter. Had this same conversation with Gooch. I am convinced that all cavers have (at least) one thing in common - THEY HAVE NO PLAN.

I drink like a damn fish on occasion. I can be a binge drinker from time to time. Not a problem for me since I also go weeks without a sniff of alcohol but that is a different point. Point is WHAT WILL YOU DO DIFFERENTLY NEXT TIME YOU GET HAMMERED?

My plan was to text a quit brother. If that didn't work, I would make a phone call and talk it out. 9 times out of 10, by the time the text messages were flying, I was laughing my ass off and no longer wanted a chew. That 10th time was an actual call asking someone for their permission for me to cave. Since I didn't get it, I would then be "talked down". Worked EVERY DAMN TIME.

Surprisingly, it still works when you get past 100 days because the nic bitch won't be done with you after you hit the hall.

GET A PLAN AND STICK TO IT. At that point, it is not "I will man up" or "it is mind over matter" or "I'm stronger this time". It is WHEN this happens.... I will do THIS..... and you support system kicks in talking you down. Damn dude - read some HOF speeches - almost every one of them talks about support and quit brothers. There really is no excuse.

I've been quit now for 41 days. I have drank my fair share of whiskey and beer during that time. I've also encountered many different triggers. I'm still off the can
and will stay that way. It don't take strength to quit, it takes smarts. If you're not smart enough not to put a dip in then you will cave again. Sounds like you've already let down two (?) quit groups and asking for a third? IMO you'd better
start splaining to your July brothers why you've done what you've done and
see if they except that.

Hi everyone I am back and I am back for good. I don't have a answer for you of how I am going to do it. But I do know that I am very determined and ready to quit now. Before I was just going through the motions and diddn't really feel like quitting. I think that makes a big a differnce with your quit. Another big problem I had was drinking to much during my quit. Well I don't drink as much as used to so that it is a advantage for me . I know a lot of you guys think I am a piece of shit and your saying I am a waste of time. Lenwas I know you are saying that I let you down to many times, and I am very sorry for that. I really have no words that will change my track record. I am just gonna have to prove to you all that I can actually do this once and for all which I will do. I went out today and bought 6 bags of seeds and a big box of gum that is a good start for me.. This is it I am done.. Call me a pussy for caving all the those times but at least I am man enough to step back into the ring of fire. I know its gonna take awhile to get some respect ..Three years of chewing is enough for me...Lenwas hit me up if you feel like it....Buck

Well you better figure it out soon!

It is good that you are determined, but I don't think it is enough. What happens when that determination starts to fade because quitting becomes easier some days and then boom some serious craves hit? You will start to rationalize how you can have "Just one Dip" and boom you are right back to the can. You gotta have a plan! Your determination will get you started in this battle... but it is your word, your committment, and developing a solid support system that will make this quit last.

There is a lot of support here, use it. Now get to it.

I agree with Bman 100%

Congratulations on your tough mindset, but you need to get creative and hit this quit from a different angle. Hell, I screwed up and ended up putting a Heavy Bag in my spare bedroom and I have to carry a note in my pocket every day, but....it works and its something drastically different than what I was doing before.

Change it up, keep your determined attitude, but do some totally different quit practices than you have before. It will also help to tell your subconscious, that this is different and THIS is the one!

I would say 'Good Luck', but that would infer there's a possibility of you not making it and that's not an option this time.

Stay Strong and 'Good Quit'!

Congrats on getting quit again Buckshooter. Keep it up, and be a leader for October!

One of my quit buddies in August caved.  He is at 60+ days now, he is rock solid, and has been a great member of the August group. I respect the hell out of him. You can get that back. Just drink the kool aid, and you will git'r done.

I just gotta..... I spent a fucking hour on chat with Chanilla trying to talk you out of having a dip. You were drunker than hell. You finally said that you flushed your cans. Thats right not one but two, I guess if your going to cave you ought to get the two for one deal. So then you caved.

1. You lied about flushing the cans (unless you went and bought more)

2. Chanilla was fucking crushed when you caved and it damaged his quit to the point he caved. I hold you responsible. When somebody caves it can harm the quits of those around them, it fucks up the web of accountability.

3. You broke your word because you had posted roll. This again makes you a lying sack of donkey crap.

You better have a fucking plan and you better have one fast. You have alot to prove around here, and as far as I am concerned right now, your one step above a troll. If your serious about quitting quit, if your not, go over to QSlite and talk about quitting while you chomp nic gum and trade recipies.

I know a lot of you are sick of me and don't believe in me, but please give me one more chance. If I cave and or I do not follow through with what I have said here I will never come back here. Which wont happen I am going to do this. Please just give me a second chance. I know a lot of you are gonna say a second chance!? You have giving me plenty of chances I know. Sounds to me like you need to give yourself a chance. Remove any temptations. Develop a plan, improve it as needed, and stick to it. DO NOT put yourself in situations where you will fail. And keep your fucking word! (In case you haven't noticed that is all we got)

You will always find someone here to support you, but you need to realize that we can't quit for you. You gotta want it! Commit yourself to this and you will find your success.

Now get it done.

Also....That line about "if you fail you will never show your face here again". That is bullshit and sounds like an easy way out. Almost like you are setting yourself up to fail. Fuck That..you are quit, so stick around.

So you've got a plan, but allow me to offer a few more spots that may need to be thought out. The biggest thing I'm seeing in your latest "intro" is another out. You already have a plan for slipping away and never coming back. How is the accountability this site offers going to help with a plan like that?

You are going to give up cigars too? My God, however will you handle it? _ You've been around here since before February of this year and you are just now figuring out that you have to get rid of your cigars? You may want to add paying attention to that plan. Just in case you haven't seen it, allow me to point out how you earn the right to post 1 day higher than the day before. First you post roll. Then you keep your word by not using tobacco in any form. Now read this part closely and more than once if you have to.....If you use dip, smoke a cigarette, smoke a cigar, use snus, lick the candy shell of a piece of Nicorette gum, or even hang out in the smoke shack at work trying to inhale second hand smoke, you have caved and broken your word. Read it again....again.

gotta agree...you're back to quit and stay quit, or you have no reason for being here at all.

The words "If I cave" just cannot coexist with anything else on this site, or for any quitter anywhere. There is no "If I cave". Ever. From anyone. No way can I get behind someone where part of his thinking includes "If I cave".

"When I caved" is relevant, it makes you think about how you screwed up in the past.

"I'll do everything I have to do to make damn sure I don't cave, forever" is the kind of thinking I'm looking for from absolutely everyone here.

I am back! I know you all are disgusted with me. I have let some many people down and burned a lot bridges. I am sorry for that. I truly am and I know a lot of you will never trust me. I don't expect any one to help me but if you can forgive me and give me some support I would appreciate it. I will only have to show you that I am serious. For right now I will fight this fight day by day hour by hour and I am not gonna let any one discourage me from doing so. You wanna know what is different this time? I can honestly admit that I am a tobacco addict. Everyone is going to tell you stay away from me. If that is what you choose to do that is fine. SCM I am sorry I let you down big time. I was selfish. Samcat you were a huge help and I let you down. You all were very supportive towards me and I did not take advantage of it. I hope you can all forgive me over time.

If someone gave you a revolver, would you play russian roulette just once? how about over and over? That is what you are doing every time you dip. You throw one in knowing that it could be the one that starts the cancer. The one that causes you to loose your jaw, or your cheek, or your voicebox, or your eye, or your life. This is serious business. It is life or death. Get serious or get out.

BS52,

Take your lumps from those you let down and then move on. You caved? Well, you weren't the first and certainly won't be the last.

30Yr makes a great analogy with russian roulette.

Quit for today and don't cave today. Get up tomorrow and do it again.

Post Roll EVERYDAY!!

Welcome back.

But I donÂ’t see how anyone can speak negative towards you as long as you keep trying.. Even it takes you 20 attempts and years to complete. This shit is truly hard and we are all human. I know I could easily fall off the wagon as so many do. Getting back on is what counts !

There is no falling off the wagon. YES this is hard. You are strong and can overcome. You will fight and use the tools of the site when you are in your "hour of need".

Yeah, you're a special flower. Nobody else here understands Quit except you.

Which is why there are thousands of successful quitters on here, and why you're so supportive of a serial caver.

I haven't seen you post in support of even one cold turkey bad ass quitter.

Conclusion:

You're supporting Bullshitter52 because you're looking for support for the cave you're planning for yourself.

Caving is not an option.

Ever.

I understand this addiction too....I understand that because I am an addict I can never have just one dip, one cigarette, or one cigar, or a puff of a pipe. I understand that I am addict that will fight everyday to keep my word and not cave. Because I understand this addiction caving is not an option....

Not sure who you are or what you did.... IÂ’m new here, only 10 days into it.

But I donÂ’t see how anyone can speak negative towards you as long as you keep trying.. Even it takes you 20 attempts and years to complete. This shit is truly hard and we are all human. I know I could easily fall off the wagon as so many do. Getting back on is what counts !
Because failure is not an option here. Some think so but they are very fukin wrong!

We do not coddle, or give a better luck next time speeches.

We sack up and quit!

You post your word first thing. If you don't keep your word, you have no integrity. Fuck off!

This may be the first guy I've ever called a waste of of time.

And to the person who said that Buckshooter wasn't the first and won't be the last to cave, I disagree. He was the first person to cave in my group (which was far from his first cave). He was also the most recent caver several times in my tenure here. He may end up being the last overall at the rate he is going.

I'm not wasting my time (again).

I think you can liken that guy to a troll. He comes and goes as he pleases and relishes in the negative attention when he shows back up again. I'm sure the December brothers will join in me slamming his ass if he ever posts intro/roll again.

Seeing how we didn't even have the chance to get to know him or get invested, no skin off our back. I think he lasted for three rolls?
