My name is Bill. I started chewing in 1981, skoal long cut straight. I smoked cigarettes and used snuff to get off the cigarettes. I go thooked on the snuff and wasn't the biggest user but did 1 can in 3 or 4 days. Still an addict and enough is enough. Quit today and am using the patch to help. Starting with the 21 mg patch today, need to stay with it and beat this thing. Would welcome any advice or words of wisdon from anyone who would like to contribute to help in this endeavor. I wish everyone a Happy New Year. I have an article on the effects of tobacco which I would like to share with everyone at some point once I have been successful for a longer time I will post in here for everyone.
Thanks,
Bill

Bill welcome,
First off let me be the first to tell you to get off the patch. The laws of addiction all you are doing is changing the flavor of the soda if you know what i mean. Dip,chew snuff, cigs, pipes, patches, nic cough drops, and cigars. I have been there and have tried to switch it up. All it will do will come back in the ass to bite you. throw that patch off and when you have no nic in your system post roll in April .

Bill,
I've tried to quit with the patch quite a few times and it doesn't work. Your goal is to get off nicotine once and for all. By the time you switch from 21mg patches to 14mg, you will feel the same horrible withdrawels all over again. The stepping down from 14mg to 5mg is just as bad. I used Chantix and it seemed to take the edge off, just a little. Rip off the patch and post roll in April. The sooner you do it, the sooner you'll feel better about yourself.

Total abstinence. No nicotine in your body, period. After it leaves your body, it's a mind fu%k !!Stay quit

You guys be careful with that chantix. I know alot of quitters that was on that shit and nothing good happened. Alot of people get really depressed and some get some bad mojo.

I used Chantix for 30 days. I found this site on Day 31. When I got here, I dumped that shit.
Crazy fucking nightmares man. Sleepwalking, really crazy shit for me. The bottom line is, you don't NEED it.
Day 292.

Bill, I used the patch, the gum, the lozenge, always went back to the can.
Cold turkey is way to go, get the nic out of your system.
Look at it this way. If you're addicted to crack cocaine, do you think you'll stop by controlling your intake? HELL NO!!! It's the same with nicotine. And if you think it's two different animals you're wrong. You're an addict and rule number one for any addict is to STOP using. The patch is still using.
Read up all you can on this site, you will see where we are coming from.
Good Luck, Stay Quit!!!
