Title: Time to quit
Post by: TJS585 on December 28, 2014, 03:24:00 PM
I am Tim. Been dipping hardcore for the past eight years. My gums, pocketbooks and teeth have had enough. Out of fear of losing my jaw and the inability to go more than 4 hours without a dip brings here. I want more than anything to accomplish objectives without dip. I want to be free from the addiction of nicotine. I no longer want to worry about loosing my teeth or fearing the dentist. I no longer want woman to lecture me how disgusting my habit is. I have tried patches and gum, stuff only irritates me more

I've tried lots of shit. You know what finally has me?

Sacking up and CHOOSING not to use nicotine.

It's really that simple (even though it's not easy sometimes). Here's what you do:

Post roll (Roll is your promise to yourself and us that you won't use nicotine today). Posting roll doesn't make you quit, but it starts your quit day off on the right foot. You still have to back up those actions. It won't be easy initially, and there are tricks to help you get through these first days. Limit your caffeine and alcohol. You'll be jittery enough and alcohol has killed many a quit. Drink tons of water. If you don't run...run. Sweat and fluids push the poison out of your body so you can start healing.

That's right...healing. These first few days are a backward march to hell. Once you bottom out (i.e. no nicotine left in your system), you start moving forward.

Now, what we do here (that is different than other places...even where it's copied) is we quit together. I got your back in this battle, and we're available to you at the small price of your promise. Get some numbers of the quitters here, and read as much stuff as you can. There's a phenomenal library of wisdom here. Follow it.

Tomorrow, look me up. Send me a pm. Ask me what to do and I'll personally make sure to walk down this path with you.

Got any questions?

I pick my nose, it's a bad habit.

When I chewed tobacco for 17 years, it was a horrible addiction.

Learn that you are an addict and it's step 2 to quitting right after you post roll. You'll get support on quitting like you wouldn't believe.

Hey Tim! WTF are you doing? Are you all in or not? This half assed bullshit will not stand. You are either in, or you're not.

We don't try here, Tim. We do. We also don't hope, or rely on luck. Fuck that noise. We Quit. Period. Now either you are here to earn your freedom, or you're just spinning wheels.

Get serious, get involved and get your shit together!

What's up with posting Day 1 two days in a row?

Welcome Tim! You've posted Day #1, there's no turning back now. You've come to the right place. Embrace the suck because you will never forget it.

Let it really sink in what that roll post means. In essence, you're promising 20K+ people that you will NOT dip today. No matter what. You've got 20K+ virtual brothers and sisters that need you to keep your promise as badly as you need them to keep their's.
