Title: My fight to quit
Post by: BigCountry on January 28, 2013, 08:59:00 PM
My journey to quit began January 22, 2013. After a week I've finally found the words to say. I'm younger than most on here, 27. I first felt that my intro wasn't worth posting. I slowly began to realize that no matter the length of the addiction, it is still an addiction. I'm slowly learning how to live my life without a dip in my lip or a can in my pocket. Some days are better than others. I know it'll be like that for the rest of my life. I will always be an addict. Hopefully along the way I will be able to help others realize they can live without being a slave to the can.

You've made one of the best decisions of your life. I'm 37 years old, been an addict for 18 years, and I'm 4 days into my quit. In fact, you and I are probably in the same quit group. Lots of good guys here that know what struggles you're having now and can help you through them. Share your number with others so they can help you and you can be there for them. Pm anytime if you need anything! Most of all, never give in to that nic bitch again. Together we can do this!

Hey Big Country. Glad you found the site. I am a new quitter too. There is a ton of information and support on here. You now have a team of quitters on your side. Check your Inbox (1). Send me a PM or a text if you need anything.

2 main things to get straight right out of the gate. First, you have to post roll everyday. Second, this is a 100% no nicotine program. No gum, patches, lozenges, nothing.

Welcome Big! Great decision to stop being a slave to the can.
You have a big leg up already, you seem to understand the nature of this addiction. That is key to staying quit. PM me if I can help you. Proud to be quit with you today.

Age is of no consequence within these walls. The only difference is that you wised up at a much earlier age than I did. Hopefully that equates to less permanent damage.

You sound wise beyond your quit days. Hang in there, it gets easier. Reach out if you need anything.
