Hello my name is Nick and I have been dipping for the past 4 years or so. Grizzly one of the strongest and roughest chews has been my choice since I started. I have never wanted to really quit... for the past 4 years. I have taken breaks to give my mouth a fighting chance. I know I can quite for up to 3 months because I have done it in the past. But today 7-23-12 I QUIT FOR GOOD. I am using an aide however, Jakes's chew will help me with the oral fixation I have grew accustom to.

Welcome to the group Nick and although I am another newbie like yourself, these veterans here know what they are talking about.
Stay strong, make that daily promise and post, and stay true to the quit.

Sir Derek is a nicotine killer! He may be new but it doesn't take long to know how to be a genuine quitter.
The vets know how to quit. Do what they say with exactness. They may tear you down and build you up at times. Just put your trust in them because they have slayed the dragon day after day, month after month and year after year.
I drank my glass of kool aid. 132 days quit. Not a vet, but the vets coached me to my current undefeated record. I trusted the advise and did what I was told. I swear I would have caved without the training and brotherhood.

If I could've out muscled this addiction on my own you would've never seen my ass here.. It takes us all working together.. BUT if you are serious about this.. Maybe just maybe you can be a BADASS too.. Anybody can cave.. It takes a real bad mother fucker to crave and not cave! Only the strong survive here.. So you in? Gooch

Welcome aboard Nick. Understand this, OCt12 will make no compromises. We will quit and kill the addiction that has found us all here. You will post roll everyday, first thing after waking. You start your day with that mindset and continue it one day at a time. We are not experts, we just know how to follow SOP. Immerse yourself in the site, reach out to some vets for advice and hit us all up for contact info.
I say hit us up because I have seen in our group the ones who have reached out to each other have truly committed themselves day after day to their quit. The ones I reached out to, not so much and a high percentage of them have caved or not been heard from since.
So my question to you is, how bad do you want this? If I don't have a PM requesting contact info, I will have my answer. I know I speak for others in our group as well. Don't leave us hanging and QLAFM.

I am going strong so far. No cravings yet :)

Hello my names Nikolai.
I was quit for over 6 months the last time I posted here. It was pretty easy to quit in Hawaii when a can costs 9 bucks. Right when I moved back to california I started chewing again, and I have been for the past year or so. This time it's really time to quit. I can't stand abusing myself this much.
How do u find my roll call?
Thanks.
-
KDF,
I think you'll be asked to post in August 14 AND your original quit group, and you'll need to answer these 3 questions and post the answers here and in your quit groups.
What happened?
Why did it happen?
What are you going to do different this time?

Think deeply my friend as those of us who remain quit today in Oct12 would like to see your responses and hope they are ones that you spend some time on internal thought.
and this time make those connections and friends so you finally stop poisoning yourself.

Quit dates: April 25-May 25' 2014
topic/10225414/ (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/10225414/)
Get r done... no excuses. The cost of a can shouldn't dictate whether you're successful or not. I'm nearly 8 years quit and I'm still only $5 and a gas station away from my addiction. However, I make my daily decision not to be a slave... you can do.
-
What happened?
-I started to work across country driving from state to state, I had a lot of free time to fill and I quickly got back into chewing. Also it doesn't help when all your Co workers chew. It seems like almost all commercial divers chew.
Why did it happen?
-Because I needed some kind of comfort while I was working on the road and chew has been my comfort away from home latley.
What are you going to do different this time?
-This time I'm going to focus on how much healthier I feel without chew, Instead of thinking how I should reward myself with it.

Welcome back, Nikolai! We're so glad that you decided that this time "it's really time to quit." And yeah, man, you better quit now; I hear that prices are going to rise soon and then what? THEN a life of addiction to cancer-causing products would be a bad idea. Right now, at $5 a can, the addiction lifestyle is a bargain. Maybe you should keep dipping until it makes financial sense to quit. Sarcasm
And by the way, in addition to answering the three questions, how about you tell us what the hell you think you're going to learn this time around that you didn't learn after 6 months of being quit.
Also, you don't get two intros.

You never did quit you just took a break something you referenced in your original post here. You will not succeed if these are your answers to the three questions. My 3 year old could sting together a better explanation. Your last post before today was for day 130 however you only have about 54 posts on this site total. That means you don't even post 50% of the time. Hit the bricks you little bitch no one here has any time for your fucking half assed attempt at a quit. The answer you gave above simply shows that you never even took the time to understand your addiction or what nicotine actually does to you.
You are a joke and not worthy don't waste our fucking time.

Well, when Cali gets too expensive, keep moving east - I was dipping Cope for $3.75-$4 a can, and grizzly for $2-3. Fresh prices too, only 25 days old.
Death by poison is still death by poison regardless of how much you're paying.
You'll be in the same group I am - If you want help, post roll and plunge in. If you can't handle that or don't like having your feet held to the fire, then chew on.
The tools are here, you have to use them. I'm just not seeing any seriousness from your posts so far.

Your original group are celebrating in their 600's and 700's now, and are soon going to be at 2 years! Too bad you threw all that away for your fix. Now you gotta go through all that SHIT again! Hope you are serious this time. This is no game to be taken lightly.

Focus a little on that 3rd response man. You need a plan, something in depth to show that you are serious about putting steps together and sticking to them of things to do before you ever go back to that can again. Take a little peek at my intro, so can see what I think is close to am impermeable armor of a plan that I have promised to myself to follow.
Do that, and put your quit first above all else, and this time make a connection or 2 in the Brotherhood here, and you will find different results. But you need to be 100% committed. no more half-assing.
-
Instead of thinking how I should reward myself with it.
Really? Reward yourself with a good opportunity for cancer. You need to HATE dip for what it has done to you. Dig deep man, there is nothing good about dip. That is the addiction speaking.....

Actually, all the answers you gave are garbage. They show no internal perspective, review or thought.
Do you care about this? Do you want this?
It does not seem like it to me. You sound weak, just like your last failed attempt.
As a newbie posted today to another caver... You better unfuck yourself and try again!

I'm a little out of words.
Nicotine provides comfort? Nicotine is a reward? And you chew because it is geographically more affordable/everyone you work with chews?
Dig deeper. This is way way too important to give horseshit answers like that.
Comfort? Get a teddy bear.
Reward? Buy some Oreos.
Affordable? How much does a new jaw cost ?
Your coworkers all chew? I bet you medical plan has huge copays.
Try again

You sir...are a train wreck. You don't want to be here. You like to pay lip service to clean. That won't cut it.
-
Lmao, what do you want me to say? "I chew because my parents didn't love me?" No, its a bad habit and a drug that was part of my life. Now I am putting that behind me and moving on. Cold turkey you token hording f@gg0ts. 'BanDog'

Let's start with this...
Could you please go into your personal settings and change your signature line from "quit as of..." to "paused back in 2012 but then moved somewhere with lower taxes and let peer pressure and a jacked up mentality to my addiction lure me back?"
I don't really give a shit if you are pissed or if your parents locked you up in the attic until you were 16. If you wanna quit, you need to really think through your answers. Your mouth says quit but your heart is still addict speaking in this thread.

Dude, what did you expect coming back here? A nice big warm hug with complimentary reverse grip reach around?
You're the one that caved, not us. You're the one that stabbed your quit group and fellow KTC members in the back, not us. You're the one that came back here looking for us to support a caver, one who is still as much an addict as he ever was and glorifies nicotine like a dog owner giving his dog a biscuit,Â…not us.
So, drop the attitude, eat a fat slice of humble pie and figure out why this time is going to be different AND why we should accept your word that you want to be quit. Because honestly, I don't think you know. You haven't figured out a plan or have a good reason why we should take your word. I won't dissect your responses, but I will dissect your commitment, which right now, looks like a hot mess. Figure it out.

I was all pissed off because one of our guys caved yesterday, and waltzed back in here like it was no big deal.
Then I saw this fucking cocksuckers thread.
What a complete waste of space.
Fuck this turd.

Lm-jaw-o, you guys have bigger issues to worry about than nicotine that's for sure. Either way I'm quit for good and will continue to post on the designated roll call. Go back to your caves.

just show us you learned something this time.
and remember to look at the smaller picture of One Day at a Time, or you will get overwhelmed.

Why are you starting another intro? Your old piece of shit one page intro is still out there. Go back and add to it. It's pretty fucking pathetic, just like your first attempt.
Also something very telling in your very first post in that intro. You said you never really wanted to quit. You proved yourself right on that one...
-
lol I love this forum. Sorry about the second intro. A mod is free to delete it.

BS! Answer the 3 questions and put some thought into them. Quit acting like a 2 yr old. Otherwise you mind as well hit the road, or we can just make preps for your "3rd intro".
If you don't take the time to give a crap then that is what your quit will amount to.

Post the answers already, you're being a drain on resources.

Everyone needs to back off of this guy. Can't you see that he is special. He is above the law and better than everyone here. We all have bigger issues than nicotine to handle. Hahahahahahahahahhahahhahahahahaha. Go away, If you want to play by your own rules. Your obviously to cool for anyone here. Go away

Why are you even here? I can tell by looking at the number of posts you have that you didn't care about your first quit, and you clearly don't care about this one. You also obviously feel like you don't need this website, so give me one single reason why you are here? Because I'll be straight with you, if you are going to be a cocky prick with a shitty attitude, then nobody wants you here anyways. You are just another shit stain to us. And another thing, your answers suck. It's nothing but lame excuses, and you put no thought into it. I don't know why I'm even bothering to respond to you, because honestly you sound like a troll to me, but since I've been in your shoes before I'll give you a little bit of free advice.
You want to quit? Then post roll. Don't do it once in awhile, don't do it when you feel like it, do it every fucking day. And once you've done that, stick around. Get to know the people in your quit group, and post in your group. Start conversations with your group members. Get numbers from people and utilize them if you need to. Post in other quit groups to support others. And above all else, don't stop after day 100. Stick around and keep posting roll every single day. Keep interacting with your group. If you bail after day 100 I can almost guarantee you won't last.
Now quit being a fucking pussy and either do what we are recommending or just get the fuck out of here.

I must be in a good mood or something this morning. Maybe it is because so many people that have supported me and GIVEN THEIR WORD EVERY DAY have been hitting milestones recently? Had they not GIVEN THEIR WORD EVERY DAY they probably wouldn't have hit these important milestones in their chain of quit successes.
The correct answer to question one is carefully hidden in the above paragraph (ie... I didn't...). Maybe with your super sleuthing abilities you can find it, and then you can work on the other 2 questions.
Now, you are right. I do have better things to do.

Nikki, I am truly sorry your folks locked you in a closet and peed on you, no one should have to go through that.

This guy won't last, what's the over/under on him?
Roamcountry is a commercial driver and stellar quitter. Wagen you're just a dbag looking to go spelunking.

Weakness is a choice.
100% of the time.
Don't sully my roll calls if you are not serious about this shit.
Period, end of story!

KDF - I wrote a long post the other day here in your intro and then my damn wifi acted up and poof - gone before it was posted. It boiled down to this: your way doesn't work, try the KTC way this time. Part of that is the answer to the 3 questions. Try looking at this HOF speech:topic/10280012/1/?x=90#new (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/10280012/1/?x=90#new) by Rothstein, as of right now it's the most recent and has some good info for you in the first few paragraphs. Check it out and think about this, the guys here giving you hell are not taking time from their day, from their work, from their family to give you shit because that's the best thing they've got going on right now. They're working to kick your ass out into the light so you may see the truth. You used tobacco. because you made the decision to use tobacco. and perhaps you should make friends here, become active and follow the simple plan offered at ktc: post roll, honor your word, repeat. (see where step 4 says get cured, drift away from the site, become an omnipotent quit lord? - oh right, that's not part of the plan)

I'll admit it. I missed the R... or added it rather.
I'm intrigued - what do you do as a commercial diver?

So you sent me a pm that you want to post with me in August 2013. I have read your intro thread and hope like hell that in some way accountability will help your quit, but please let me unequivocally clear, I will not spend the most valuable resource I have (time) on your quit if your not serious, so if you miss a single day we are done. But if you are serious, my number is in your in box. I will see you on roll in the am.
