After my cousin who recently decided to quit encouraged me to do the same. I was excited to find this site and look forward to quitting and helping others quit.
Tobacco has negatively influenced my life and today I start down the path to a healthy and free life.
-
Amen brother! Congrats on your design to quit!
-
Welcome to ktc and congrats on kicking that evil can out of your Life. Just take it one day at a time. Post roll early every single day and honor your word. The first few days are tough but if I can make it, so can you. The nic should be completely out of your system in about 72 hours and after that its all mind games. Drink lots and lots of water, also keep yourself some gum, seeds, tooth picks, hard candy or fake chew with you for when those cravings hit the hardest. Reach out to your brothers and sisters in the August 13 quit group and get yourself some numbers. Use them anytime that you need to. All the bad ass Quitters on here would drop anything to help a quitter in need. I will quit with you any day. If you need a number or anything at all just pm me.
-

Day 14 -
It's been two weeks of quit so far. It's really incredible how much freedom I feel after two weeks. Even among the craves or the irritability, the freedom is still shining through. After this short period of time, I feel as if I am a different person.
The taste of freedom, so refreshing.

Anyone know what happened to this guy?
-
Anyone know what happened to this guy?
Id make a guess...... Don't even need to say it though!
-
Anyone know what happened to this guy?
Don't have his digits. Erussell?
He could have been...
hit by a bus..
in a motorcycle accident ...
dog ate his cell phone...
grounded by parents...
deported..
kidnapped...
hit his head and has amnesia...
having emergency surgery...
Any of which would be better than caving.
I think about having a chew almost every fucking day, but I'm not caving today. ODAAT.
-
he never sent his digits to me just pms...is he off the reservation?
-
He was one of the guys that wouldn't ever send me his number. Not much I can do with that. his last post was on 6/6 so yea he is off the reservation.
-
I just remembered something, I was reading about Jackson's cave earlier today and in it Ron said he pm'd his number to Jackson. He may have it.
edit - i just pm'd Jackson to see if he has it.
-
Jackson came through with his cell. I texted ShyRonnie, but it looks like I'm getting ignored.
Hopefully he'll soon remember why he came here in the first place.

you can only do so much the rest he has to do. At least someone had his number.
All you can do is keep sending him texts til he responds.

I wouldn't worry about it no more. The number was called that he gave out. If he's not answering texts and calls then he's pretty much hit the bricks. I'm pretty sure he's back in canville living it up.
His last entry was june 8th at 7:17. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if at 17:18 he had a lip full of the poison.
Some people just like canville,,, it's hard to leave for good. When your use to slavery and bondage it's hard to start a new life. It takes a person that reeeaaallly waaants to quit to get off that crap. We'll leave the lights on!!

My last post was the day I caved.
I was in a situation that nicotine seemed like the best way to get me through. I pussied out and left all the support I had and decided to leave my quit behind.
Instead of pussying out yet again I am here to admit to my cave, and continue forward.
I am here to apologize to you all who supported me, and to the KTC community for supplying cheap talk.
There is no excuse for my actions.
I am asking permission to join the December 13 group.
Things I will do differently:
-Involve my family and close friends in my quit.
-Currently attending therapy sessions for other reasons, last session I brought up my want to quit this addiction.
-Use my KTC support system before I make a decision to cave.

I don't know about anyone else but I could use a few more sentences. I would like to know if the poison helped you in any way during the situation? Maybe you like taking the poison with you into battle. Maybe when something else happens, like stress, family emergency, you'll be right back with the poison.
Quitting comes from deep brother. You can bet that situations are going to arise during your quit. Your commitment and determination to quit has got to be the most important thing in your life.

Dip gave me no relief from the situation I faced. The only thing it did is make me realize I have a deep physical want for tobacco, and the only way to get through it is to man up and say no regardless of the circumstance, and regardless of how hard it is.
You are right about what happens next time, I need to get a plan in place BEFORE something comes up so I know how to handle it.
I can tell you all day that my quit is the most important thing in my life, however as I have proved talk is cheap. My quit is the most important thing and I will show you by posting roll, and staying quit.

Coming back is only part of it answering the three questions is as much for you as it is for others to learn from your quit.
You have to have a mindset change that and making the realization that no amount of nicotine will ever make a problem any better. Scodaddy has a simple formula
1problem+nicotine=2problems.
So what did you learn while you were banging the bitch?
Also isn't it amazing how fast people are posting on your thread....its because we all have numbers stacked in our phones they are tools... when you boogied only one had yours I suggest you plug that hole up this time to help plug up your pie hole to the nic bitch.
PM if you need digits

Good point.
As I said earlier I learned that my addiction is not a relief from stress, it's a physical urge which only tricks the stress away temporarily.
I will get all of the numbers I can and use them as a tool.

I wondered what happened to you. You originally quit a day before I did. Bro I hit the HOF yesterday. Could have been you too. Saddle back up and ride the quitting bronco like you mean it this time.

I am glad you are back, but I will point out that after 14 days quit it is no longer a physical urge to chew. That is gone. It takes big balls to quit and a strong mind. Wrap your head around the fact that you are an addict and you need to be 100% committed in your quit or you will fail again! Also, If you are going to be here then you need to spread your net of accountability far and wide. I am a member of your old group and one of the guys who does the spreadsheet. I barely remember you! Only one guy had your number! That isn't working the program. Talk is cheap! Your right! Your actions are all that matter at this point. I still want to see the answers the the three questions! I think you need to dig a little deeper and own this thing!
What happened?
Why did it happen?
Whats going to be different.

Shyronnie - First, you need to post your answers in your new group and your old group. Second, your answer on question 1 absolutely sucks, in my opinion, and your question on 2 is a little week also. Question 3 is usually where people blow it, but you have some decent stuff there. It compels me to ask though: have you picked up any #s or reached out to anyone since you posted it? You need to. Now. PM me if you'd like one more person watching out for you.

1. What happened?
- I had been very irritable during my quit. My girlfriend and I had not been getting along. We were due to go on a vacation with her family for the week and in the past her family and I have not seen eye to eye during vacations (a nice way of putting it). Instead of talking to them about what I was going through and staying quit, I took the easy way out.
2. Why did it happen?
- It happened because I did not prepare for any situation I was going to face. I was ignorant and did not follow the advice on here and have a game plan for the bumps in the road. I figured I would just worry about it when stuff came up.
3. What are you going to do differently this time so that you don't stick another fat cat turd of death and dependency in your mouth again?
- Involve my family and friends in my quit.
- Have a game plan for the bumps in the road.
-Involve my family and close friends in my quit.
-Currently attending therapy sessions for other reasons, last session I brought up my want to quit this addiction.
-Use my KTC support system before I make a decision to cave

You need to add, that you will keep your word this go around to the list of things to do differently. How no matter how tough it gets, no matter how bad you crave, no matter how hard it is to be in close proximity of it, and no matter how bad your anxiety gets your not going to be a liar and you are going to keep your word to your brothers because this is your brotherhood and you've got their back and no matter what you will not let them down by INTENTIONALLY CHOSING to cave.
Ronnie, once I post roll....... My quit is protected, because I believe in this brotherhood and I will not go back on my word to my brothers and sisters. And since I refuse to miss roll, pain and craving may be in my future but a damn cave is not!!!! Post roll and keep your word, your word is all you have as a man, in fact you are defined by your word. Let me know if you want me to hold your ass accountable, think about it before you say yes! It's not as simple as saying yes, I will be all over your quit!

+1 For the short time I've been on these forums I can't believe just how important that roll post is remember you're making that promise to your mentors who have gone before you and those walking along with you, all looking to see what how you're doing, and doing it with caring emotional investment. A decision not to post one morning, or worse, breaking that promise, results in real people feeling actual hurt.

OH ya you want this quit stamped on your ass Eruss is a good one to add. Keep building that network of accountability Ronnie its a hole you didn't close your last time here. Don't be alarmed when you see a pink avalanche in your driveway.
-
I was the one who would occasionally drop you a text to remind you to come back and that you didn't need nicotine - you may still sometimes think and feel that you do, but you really don't. The best part - pretty much everyone here has been in your shoes - this shit had us all by the balls just like it had you.
I give you a lot of credit for owning up to your cave and coming back - many don't come back. Make us believers in your resolve and quit each day by posting roll. I still have your number, and I'll drop you a text to make sure you have mine.
You can do this - as others mentioned you'll need the #'s and accountability to get you there. Make sure to take erussell up on his offer - here is a man you've never met willing to invest some of their valuable time to help you. It's a great thing.
Print out the contract to give up - put it in your wallet. Read it occasionally to remind yourself how stupid it is to chew/dip. Promise me and yourself that you'll sign it before you ever cave again. Here's the link: http://www.killthecan.org/facts-figures ... o-give-up/ (http://www.killthecan.org/facts-figures/contract-to-give-up/)

I have this ^^^^^ number right here. It's one of my favorites,, literally. You want to put another watch dog just beyond the door,, Here's your chance...
OH ya you want this quit stamped on your ass Eruss is a good one to add. Keep building that network of accountability Ronnie its a hole you didn't close your last time here. Don't be alarmed when you see a pink avalanche in your driveway.
I'm still waiting on your number Ronnie. This is life or death bro,,,,,, what's it gonna be??????
