Title: quitting
Post by: rogerpersson on October 23, 2017, 12:25:00 PM
Well, not a social media user but find the stories on this forum very inspiring. Not my first rodeo trying to quit, but I'm more motivated than ever (20 plus years dipping, last 10 or so 2-3 cans a day) Had last dip Friday morning and while the pure hell of the first few days is over, I'm still fighting the urge to stop and get a can. Tried hypnosis Friday after friends spoke the world of it when quitting smoking, but didn't do any "wonders" for me.

Thanks to all posters for sharing their experiences.

Roger, welcome to the best decision you've ever made. You'll find a common theme here, every single person has tried to quit multiple times on their own and have failed. No worries, KTC addresses that problem. Through a tried and true method of brotherhood and accountability, you too can QUIT! I hate to burst your bubble but there is no magic pill / treatment to make this any easier. I won't sugar coat it, it is going to suck! BUT...I promise it will get better one day at a time! I am 355 days quit today and that is only because of KTC.

The way KTC works:

1. Join your quit group
2. Post roll ( Your promise to not use nicotine for 24 hrs )
3. Keep your word
4. Get to know your quit brothers/sisters. Swap digits and grow your web of accountability
5. Rinse and Repeat Daily first thing in the morning so that nicotine is off the table for that entire day.

You can be quit and we can help, if you let us! Jump in and lets get some quit!

Listen to Jeff. He was one of the first to reach out to me when I joined KTC and I can tell you he is absofreakinglutely correct.

I'm in your quit group and will PM my contact info as soon as I'm done posting this (look in your inbox in the upper right corner of the screen).

Reach out to as many people as you can. Post roll as soon as you get up and going. Text people in your quit group. Everyone here has been through this at one time or another and can help you through it.

I was a heavy user as well, 1.5 - 2 cans a day. Quitting can be done, just follow the method.

Thanks. Done it before but it has never stuck. I'm feeling good about it this time though. Like I said in original post sharing my life online is not my cup of tea, but so far I'm finding this forum and all the members/moderators very motivational. Already feeling more energized not having to worry about where my cans are, did I bring enough to work for the day, which store near me is getting deliveries today, etc... Have been acting like a fool for years!

If you post roll every single day and keep your word one day at a time, I guarantee this one will be THE QUIT! I quit with you today brother!
