Title: My Quit
Post by: MooseTracks94 on July 15, 2014, 11:51:00 PM
Hello All,

My name is David and I am currently on Day 3 of quitting chewing tobacco. I came across this site a while back but was never committed enough to quit, until now. I am only 24 years old so I haven't been chewing all that long (7 years) but I'm afraid if I don't quit now I may never be able to. Growing up, I don't remember a time when my dad didn't have a dip in and I promised myself to never start the nic addiction. Unfortunately, I did start the addiction though. He has been quit for a little over 2 years now so I figured if he could do it, I certainly can.

Welcome MooseTracks!

Good news is...you can quit now. You can do this, I promise. Head over to Oct 14, introduce yourself, post up and get involved.

First of all welcome Moose, you are making an awesome decision, one that will save you life.

I do want to call you out on the comment regarding 7 years........7 days of using poison is a long time, so what does that make 7 years? Quantifying nicotine use "as not that long" is something to get out of your head, you are as much of an addict as I am.

We HATE nicotine here at the KTC, and it will help your quit if you learn to hate it as well. We are all addicts here, and we all have horrifying stories to tell, but we all move forward with accountability and brotherhood.

7 years is about 2500 days. Time to start taking those days back one day at a time! Fuck cancer and fuck tobacco.

Welcome to KTC Moose Tracks. First, I assume that you are flying the MIZ-ZOU flag because you are either from Missouri or a grad from the ZOO. If either welcome from this Missourian. There are a few of us around here. I suggest that you read through some stories on the site, and learn just what this addiction can lead to. I was ignorant to the side effects a year ago, but know I am a smarter man and ready to keep adding days quit to my count.

PM me if I can do anything to help brother

Well if I can quit, surely someone from Mizz can quit. Welcome!

Read all you can on the site, reach out and make some buddies, island quitting is not what we endorse here. We support community quitting, brother helping brother.

Lemme know if I can help with anything!
