yes it gets better - you know the saying .... but you have to go through hell first.

This site can help you kick your nicotine addiction (not a habit) to the curb. We don't use words like try or hope as they are just another excuse for our addictive brains to tell us another lie. There are no short cuts, but here are some links that will help you navigate this site.

This a NO NICOTINE site. End of discussion. Why this Site Works (http://www.killthecan.org/about/why.asp)

Best thing to do is get familiar with this site and start building your quit defense.

Highly recommend you go here: Welcome Center (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showforum=13), Getting Acclimated (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=7614),  What to Expect (http://www.killthecan.org/yourquit/what.asp)   Top Ten List  (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=8382)

Your quit  Decision  (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=1791&view=findpost&p=4771433) MUST be 100% about you. Anything short of that sets you up for failure by allowing your addict brain to blame a given situation as reason for you to go back to the can. Quitting out of fear, based on a medical issue, will fade as soon as the doctor or dentist gives you a clean bill of health.

Post Roll every day or communicate with someone and have them post via text, email or call. Get as many number of your group as you can and use them frequently. Keep in touch with your quit brothers. Send them a PM, text or call every few days just to keep an open line of communication. Give them your email address. Make it IMPOSSIBLE for you to go a day without several people contacting you all day if you don't post roll.

You want another layer of accountability? Come post in my room every morning after you post roll in yours  April 2012 (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=5688&st=0)

If applicable Spousal or Significant Other Support (http://www.killthecan.org/community/spouse.asp)

Welcome to the KTC quit train Bryan. We are over 17,000 members strong and will support you all the way. What we do is provide you with the tools to quit and help you along that rough patch of track. We will be there for you every step of the way to freedom. We will be there when you are hurting, when you are in the suck, when you feel like raging, venting or just talking to someone on the phone. Around here, we call that Brotherhood.

Joining us means you will do a few things. First and foremost, you will post Roll. Roll is your daily promise to yourself and all of your new brothers and sisters that you will not use tobacco in any form that day. You will post your name and the number of days you are quit each day in the February 2014 quit group. Each and every day you will post your promise. No exceptions. That is the price of admission to KTC. Nothing more and nothing less. The reason you are put in February is that will be the month that you will celebrate being 100 days free of nicotineÂ…your Hall of Fame date. But you must be nicotine free when you start with us.

Now, your headaches will get better in a few days and your sleep patterns will return to normalcy within a few days or even weeks...it is different for everyone. You have to remember that you have been ingesting poison for many years and your body will not heal itself overnight...and your brain will not function properly until it is used to working without nicotine. On that note, throw out all the cigs, dip, chew, nic gum or any other NRT product you are still using. Cold turkey is the only way we fly in this nut house.

Now that you know the basics, it is time to read all you can on this site. Go to the welcome center and that will get you started. Post roll and look up at your inbox (1). It is a message from me with my cell number. Lets get your quit going today.

Where are you at Bryan? You have not posted roll since you posted your intro 2 days ago. If there is a problem call or text me. We spent quite a bit of time on the phone the other evening getting you lined out, so lets get this program started. Throw away the cigs and commit to this program or allow the tobacco to keep controlling your life like it has been. Make your mind up.

BTW, after re-reading your intro, did Uncle Syndrome help you write it?

Well Bryan, it looks like the nic bitch put those big tits back into your mouth and they tasted better than freedom. One post wonders that come here to waste our time do not piss me off like they used to, as I know that you secretly want to quit but dont quite have the big boy nuts to do it just yet. That is why you dont respond to texts or telephone calls. Admit it or not, you are jealous of quitters and wish you could be free of the nicotine. When your nuts finally fall and you grow that sack you are destined to, come on back and lets try this again. You can do this but you have to want it more than the desire to smoke and dip...but it is your call. If you do come back, Uncle Syndrome said he would help you re-write that intro again.

Well, well, well...look who showed up to post roll after 5 days of being MIA. I saw that you got roll figured out and actually posted. Now, lets stick with this plan and put your quit into action. I was a little rough on you in your other intro, as you had not responded to any type of messages after that initial night we spent getting your quit plan lined out. I apologize for the Sarcasm. As you already have another intro thread, I am sure one of the moderators will merge the two for you into one big, happy string that you should consider updating every so often...kind of like a quit diary. Anyway, glad to see that you decided our way was better than your way and you came back Bryan. Now, dig in and lets get the first part of the journey underway.
