Title: Quit five days ago
Post by: Wilkins82 on January 19, 2016, 09:58:00 PM
Trying to beat this habit once and for all. Twenty-two years of my life using Cope long cut has only made me a slave to the tobacco company with no upside for me. I hope by joining a support group I can be held accountable and remove this burden from my life. It was a crutch while in the Army but I no longer have that as an excuse and intend to be dip free from here on out.

April Pre-HOF Group (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/11465559/361/#new) is where you want to post roll each day. Click on this link and then make your daily pledge that you will quit nicotine for the next 24 hours. Do this early on each day as we will be taking roll-call each day and help each other out and hold each other accountable. Share your digits to anyone you feel comfortable with. This will help you along the way when you get the crave to have a dip. Believe me, it will happen. My day today was the worst day I've had since I quit but with this site and with others numbers, we all help each other out but you have to quit for YOU and not for someone else. Do this for YOU and quit each day for YOU.

I quit with you today!

A few minor tweaks to your mindset and wording...

* We don't try here. We do.
* We don't hope here. We own it.
* You're not breaking a habit... you're beating an addiction.

You need to want to do this with all you've got. Do you? Because... you CAN do it. This is the right place so... get involved and stay involved.

Gee....I guess all that hoping really isn't effective in quitting a "habit".

Ultimately Wilkins, you are the only one who truly can hold yourself accountable by posting roll EDD and committing to your quit, we are here for support and we will hold you accountable to the best extent we can. I know without the brotherhood to reach out to for questions and help, I could have easily caved.
You can do this man, we are behind you 100%
