Title: Nothin special
Post by: Waffle on October 13, 2012, 01:26:00 AM
I started dipping when I was 16, nearly 17 and am nearly 22 now. I quit for about 6 months when I turned 19 but kinda fell back into the loop of things and never really got around to quitting again. I've tried a few times but never really made much progress. I haven't dipped for as long many but I can already tell my gums are taking a toll and it's just time to quit.

Honestly, I had a dip about 5 hours ago and the cravings are already shitty but I guess I just gotta deal with it. Anyways, I figured I'd try this out since quitting without any help never actually got me anywhere...Day one I suppose.

Great choice waffle.
I have 22 days and I can tell you, it can be Very tough at times....but it is so much easier for me than the first 3 days.
You can make it past the first 3. Just pretend like you have the flu. Try to be alone and away from annoyances. Drink a crap-ton of water and suck on hard candy. And stuff your face with food.

Go to the welcome center and start reading. Post roll call right away, read the HOF speaches and PM me if you have any questions or are feeling insane!

Hmmmmm. I don't think you've done much homework, so I'll lay off the smart ass comments and just say it straight: Your original post indicates that you don't have a good idea what we do here and what we do not do here. Just in case I'm right, here's a rundown:

What we do here: quit

What we do not do here: try to quit.

Read everything you can here. Start with the welcome center, then just keep poking around. It will take your mind off the fog and keep you pointed straight.

This is hard. You can stay quit and keep your word. I give you my word that I will not use nicotine today. You can take that to the bank. I have NO IDEA about tomorrow, but you can bet your ass I'll honor my word today. You have posted roll, so you have made the same promise to me and everyone else here.

Congratulations. I'm excited for you, because you have no idea of how good life can be when you take off the nicotine leash.

This is pretty much what I was gonna say. The point is that you've got to committ 100% to this. It has to be THE most important thing in your life right now.

"I guess........., I figured..........., and I suppose........." are not gonna get the job done.

Quit or quit not. Those are the only two options.

Glad to see you here.
