Hi all. I am Clayboy54 and my real name is Clay. I am an addict to a lot of things over the years. For more than 25 years it has been Skoal long-cut. It has been 2 weeks since I decided to quit and found this site today. It has been difficult, but I have been here before. Hopefully with the help of some of you I won't have to go this way any more. One day at a time, I am tobacco free. Thanks to all of you!

Clay I see you posted roll and are well on your way so welcome to hell! As you know some days can really suck. When you feel like you are about to lose hope and want to give up, make sure your promise is In writing on roll and then start screaming for help! It doesn't matter if its in chat, pm someone, text another quitter, call someone or come here or your quit group and spill your guts out and beg for help. We are all either going through or have gone through the same shit and can cry or laugh with you. Main thing remember you are never alone.

Welcome, but before we get started let's get one thing straight. WE DO NOT HOPE. WE DO. Change your vocabulary and change your life.
You can do this!!! Take a big drink of the Kool-Aid, put on your helmet and try not to lick the windows.

Welcome! We're here, whatever you need.

I love it when new guys like Gumby here post roll without having to be told to or having it explained. The quit is strong with this one. :D

I am so grateful to be free from the slavery that the can held me to, for today. It is a beautiful day in Indiana - 60 degrees on January 12th. WOW. All made sweeter without that crap in my mouth or running through my veins. Thanks for all your support!

I agree brother! He is out of the fog though. I could barely see the screen when I posted the first time because I was 12 hours in. Posted 2 intro's and almost busted the screen of my computer because I kept getting bumped. LOL!!! #sucklife #fog

Last night was very tough for me. I kept getting hot flashes and a belly ache (from gas.) I know from reading posts on here that this is not unusual, but wow it sure did hit me hard. I made it through the night without dipping and feel good this morning. For this I am grateful.

congrats, be greatful but be proud of yourself!!

I'll second this. You start realizing that you got more to offer this world brother than consciously ingesting poison.
Congratulations. Keep killing it. One day at a time.

nice job, enjoy those victories and put them in your memory banks so you know how to deal with it again in the future when the same situation comes up,
sometimes people forget that with how tough the fight it that we can celebrate within reason for the good times.
but just beware as just like there are tops and bottoms of the waves on the oceans, there will be highs like that and the lows (like the suck), that will come and go.
I quit with you today, again.

I am enjoying my nic-free perspective a lot. I don't think my head has been this clear for years. I had no idea that that can got me so messed up. I mean how bad could it be, right? Each day now, I understand what a terrible drug that nicotine is. Not to mention what the stuff does to make you lie, deceive and act like an idiot.
One of the biggest motivators to stay quit right now is just being free today.
Thanks for your support!

For almost 35 years I was a very short tempered person. Now I know that nic was actually the cause. Now nic free, I'm a completely different person. everyone in my family has stated night day. Sure I still have my moments (we all do) but it's no-where near what it was before. The benefits are realized more more each day. Protect your quit with authority, and the rewards will be huge...quit
