I ended my evening as I always had, the retort of my pointer finger hitting the top of my Grizzly tin. I have dipped since 2010. Three years was long enough. In this time I have had the worst things happen to me in my life and they all lead back to self indulgence and lack of inner personal tact. No this isn't from dipping, but the lifestyle accommodated it very well. Today I just "googled" it and fell upon this organization. And here I am, not just trying to quit smokeless tobacco, but an over abundance of poor decision making processes. I currently have (If I did my math right) until 021519Dec2013 to be 100 days without it. Im marking my calendar. Merry Christmas Ill be sure to give my reports before then.

Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life! This won't be easy, this will suck, but I can assure the "suck" will pass and you will look back and thanks yourself... so will your wallet.
Use us.... abuse us... call use every name under the sun. We will never abandoned you, but you can bet that we will hold you accountable. If you fuck us over we will never forget! We are a "Brotherhood"!
Read below...
Start at the Welcome Center (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showforum=13) and read those seven items. Quitting is difficult but immersing yourself in the KTC Kool-Aid and getting to know the people that make up this place not only makes it possible, but enjoyable.
Send me PM if you need anything. I just hit 200 days and it was the best decision I have made in my life!

Great idea Scotty, quitting dip.
Doing it cowbow style, hmmm, not such a great idea. I suggest you read up on the site and see what it actually takes to get this done.
Contact me or some of these other guys if you decide you'd like some help. That is what we are here for.

I'm with syndrome here. Just post roll everyday and don't put the poison in your piehole. Status report complete.

Scotty, there is only one status report that matters on this site. That is your ROLL post every day. That is your committment to quitting today with everyone here. Have not seen you do that yet. Forget about the 100 days and marking your Christmas calender. That is a waste of time will not get you anywhere bro. You only need to quit TODAY. Anything beyond today is beyond your control does not need to be in you head. Let's see a roll post today. Quit!

Great choice to be quit, but you need to read a lot more about how we do it here.
We don't want an occasional check-in. We want you to follow the recipe that has helped thousands quit chewing tobacco.
We post roll in our quit groups every damn day. If you think that is a burden, think about how you would do almost anything to get a new can when you were out. Why should you put less effort into quitting than you did while feeding the addiction?
Secondly, we know we are nicotine addicts. If you think you just have a bad habit then your quit will be very difficult. Thirdly, we support each other. We addicts may be rabid, but we do stick together. We contact each other, we support each other when we are weak. We know how difficult it is to quit, and we know how much you have to want it to make it stick.
If this sounds like the place for you, welcome!

We might want to get a book on tape or perhaps a hooked on phonics tape for all of the intro information to make it easier for some to understand that KTC isn't about stopping by every hundred days.
Scotty-I hope you take the time to read everything here and adhere to your quit. None of us can make you quit but we can help you if you want the help. You have to invest a little bit of time to your quit otherwise you will fall right back into the trap.

Welcome to KTC, Scotty. I don't care if you were born with a dip in your mouth, started 3 years ago, or 3 minutes ago...you're an addict. You'll never be cured, but you can control it. Here's how...spit it out, flush your stash, post roll and read.
You've gotten great advice so far. But screw the calendar...100 Days is NO finish line. But it is a major milestone. And you can get there.
Nothing matters but being nic free TODAY. You can do this, brother!!!
