Hello all, my name is Clay and I'm from Louisiana. I am 22 and have been dipping now going on four years. I can trace back tobacco to when I took my first dip when I was 13. It was grizzly wintergreen and I made it about 5 minutes before the feeling of throwing up came up and I threw it out of my mouth. I told myself I'd never do something like that but here I am. I started regularly using tobacco at about the age of 17 when I started going out and partying more. It of course started off bumming cigs at parties when I'd be drinking. Not listening to people telling me I'd become addicted I smoked away. I then became addicted to those for probably a little over a year. I finally decided that enough was enough and they were disgusting and too expensive and I decided to quit smoking. It was about this time that I was hanging out with buddies who dipped and they of course would offer me dips. Finally I decided to give it a shot while playing madden in the dorms and I thought this stuff is pretty nice. It also helped me "kick" my cig habit and was way cheaper. I started off with bumming dips to 1-2 a week now to 1 can of grizzly wintergreen a day. I am tired of this nasty addiction and I want to kick it. I have scoured on this website reading information for a couple weeks and finally decided today that this would be my last day I'm brought down by this shit. I'm tired of making excuses and quitting for a couple of days only to go back to the stuff. I'm going to quit this time and I want to be held accountable for my own decision and actions. I hope to get to know a lot of you guys thanks

You've made a good choice. Drink plenty of water early in your quit as you need to flush the nic out. It typically takes 3 to 4 days. Join the january 2018 quit group and post roll daily. Reach out to as many as you can. We exchange digits here for support so dont hesitate to reach out via pm if you want my digits.

Keep up the good fight. We have all been down a similar road. One day at a time will get us through this.

Hi Clay and welcome to KTC. I quit with you today. It gets better, much better but it takes time. Be patient and enjoy the suck! Be sure to drink plenty of water, get some exercise, and start with seeds, lots of gum, toothpicks, candy, whatever you need to quit. We are all here quitting with you today!
