Title: New
Post by: BenB66 on April 29, 2015, 10:28:00 AM
My name is Ben, I turn 29 in 4 days. I am new to this site. I quit on Sunday, April 26th at 10:15 pm. I do not know how this site works, if i am posting in the wrong place i apologize. I have dipped grizzly wintergreen for 12 years, with a few months here and there with grizzly mint. Between a can and a can and a half a day. I got to the point where i was embarrassed by the fact something so little controlled so much of my life, i have been an athlete my whole life, and i took great pride in being mentally and physically tough, yet a little can had more power over me than anything else.

I am quitting because i am afraid it will cause me to not enjoy the life i should enjoy.

You can't enjoy life if you are dead. Chewing tobacco will kill you. Check out the welcome center link, learn to post roll, and quit with us today.

Ben, i quit for the exact same reason. I finally realized chewing tobacco was the biggest obstacle between me and the life i really want. By signing up and giving my word to not use nicotine each day, I've enjoyed 353 days of freedom.

Its bad ass that you made the last few days on your own. Read up on the Welcome Center (http://forum.killthecan.org/forum/55560/) about posting roll, then head over to August 2015 quit group (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/11112756/) and join the guys who've all recently made the same bad ass decision. Reach out if you need anything.

Congrats on a great choice, Ben! 3 days quit on your own is HUGE. I love that you take pride in being mentally tough...that's really all there is to it. Attitude is everything.

It will suck at first. But this is where the mental toughness comes in...EMBRACE THE SUCK. That's right. Turn the tables on the Nic Bitch. Make yourself enjoy the suck. Choose to see it as a privilege. You GET to feel like crap because you CHOSE to be free. And you are earning your freedom ONE DAY AT A TIME.

Post roll, read everything you can on this site, and repeat. You can do this!

Yo Ben,

I'm right here with you. Day 4 for me. I can completely identify with feeling like a dope for falling victim to dip. Not anymore though. One thing that's helped me is Smoky Mountain. It's tobacco free dip with no nicotine, but it's helped me a ton with cravings.

Anyways, I'm happy you're here. Let's not dip today, deal?
