Hi there. Been chewing/snusing for around 9 years now. First American chew then Swedish snus because they say it is "healthier." I am quitting now for the following reasons:
1. My teeth are yellowing
2. My gums are receding
3. My mouth gets sore
4. This habit cost me around $250/month or $3,000/year here in Canada
5. I feel deceptive hiding my snus use in public
6. I feel like a junkie when I am running low on my stash
7. The blood pressure spikes can scare the shit out of me
8. My wife would love it if I quit because it grosses her out
9. The longer I snus the harder it will be to quit later
10. My dependence on snus shows a weakness of character that I am not proud of
11. My mother-in-law has never smoked or been harmful to her own health but has battled cancer for 6 years. Colon, kidney, lung, bone, skin and I'm sure I'm missing some. Why do I predispose myself to something this terrible if I can help it?
I mainly posted this for myself, no need to pat me on the back just yet. I quit this morning and I know I have a road ahead of me. Thanks for reading!

Good list of reasons. Quit is simple, but very hard. No need to do it alone.
Go to the March 2016 quit group and post roll, your promise to not use nicotine for 24 hours. You will do this every morning when you wake up. (That is the simple part).
Exchange digits with your fellow quitters to support each other when craves or life have you considering another snus.
During a lot of water, exercise, and read this site to get through the "suck," the early part of a quit is rough until it isn't. But it does get better over time.

Welcome to KTC. Nice intro, but I am going to just make two statements about it.
So, first, about your Number 4 - You do not have a habit. You have an addiction. That needs to click in your own head in order for you to keep fighting in your quit. Second, you have a list of things that are common 'reasons" for people to quit before they understand their addiction, but you are missing the one that is the most important, and that truly, above all, is the only one that matters. You must quit for yourself. You get to selfish now. Nothing gets in the way of your quit. Nothing matters more....because if you are gone none of the other things will matter anyway.
Chicks rock and don't dig dudes with half jaws. Post roll. Keep your promise. Keep the shit out of your mouth. Three easy steps for a tough battle ahead.
Lady G Day 699.....I'll quit with you, but for me.....
