I'm proud as hell of this site and the members that are on it man. Respect this house, and respect your quit. Most importantly, respect your quit. You'll be surprised just how far a little effort goes here.
We got your back. Water, water, limit your caffeine, water, exercise, and water. Have some supplies on hand (gum, seeds etc) before a crave cripples you , and have your tools clean and sharp. Your enemy doesn't have to reach her weapon. You do.

Do you have to be named Scott to post on this intro? I know a Scott, so close enough, I quit with Scott today.

My dads name is Scott so I too qualify to post and I quit with you!

I worked with a guy named Scott a couple years ago. He was alright I guess. He wasn't a bad ass quitter like the Scotts in this thread.

Scott,
Now that enough people have fucked with you, I would like to welcome you to KTC. You will find that there is lots of useful information here to help you break the chains of addiction, but you need to want to do this all for yourself. I thought I would offer you some direct links to items to help speed and ease your searches.
Welcome to KTC, you appear to have your mind made up to quit for you. If I may add a couple of things that in my opinion can make or break your quit (all items below with underlined words are links to different areas on KTC or referenced, all safe)
1. Your spouse, well her support is critical and she deserves to understand more what you are going through, so see the following link and hell print it or e-mail it to her to read Spousal Support (http://www.killthecan.org/community/spousal-support/)
2. Read this for yourself to make sure you fully know what to expect What to expect when you quit (http://www.killthecan.org/your-quit/what-to-expect-when-you-quit-dipping/); some days are better then others, then eventually all days are better
3. Read the stories on here at KTC, the Kern story is a tear jerker and though you want to be around for your kids this will reinforce it dramatically, Kern's Story (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/1008859/1/); then there are these words spoken by a man who lost his brother to this stupid shit Sean Marsee (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/1009362/1/#new), damn I wish he would have talked at my middle school.
4. Find an alternative and keep it on you at all times. There will be times when going to the Convenience Store and getting a soda or anything else can cause one lapse in judgment and lead to a huge mistake. Don't be that guy, be the guy with Testicular Fortitude.
5. Find a couple of other quitters and exchange numbers with them, if you need another please PM me and let's do this.
6. Remember that you are an addict, 100 days is a milestone not a goal; the goal is a lifetime being free from the nic bitch. Get pissed off at big tobacco and the dangers they put you in.
7. Remember that you are the one who caused you to be an addict, so don't let anger get outside of your control. It is no one else's fault that you got here. Your family will only support you if you are not an asshole.
8. Drink lots of water, may also consider changing your eating lifestyle/diet, shit changes after the weed is out of your system. Exercise is also a huge help.
Now, learn How to post roll (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/1003072/1/#new), then go post roll with your fellow Titans - Pre HOF October 2014 (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/10359552/263/#new)
If there is anything I can do to assist you further, please feel free to send me a PM and let me help you.

I quit with YOU Today...glad you found your way here.
The tools are here...to save your jaw and your freedom.

Not a Scott but I've never done well with restrictions.
QLF, and welcome to the Titans!
-
We quit because we want to here. It can be scary, but it can be really fucking fun sometimes. You'll like this place and you will enjoy it.
Pinched was all serious and gave you a rundown of what we're all about. Mess around here, but always remember that shit comes first. If you're angry, post roll first and we'll talk. If you're happy, post roll first and we'll laugh.
Step up the water on days 2 and 3. Drink a ton, and watch the caffeine. I was punch drunk by the end of day 2. Don't be surprised if you're a little off your game. Exercise. Read. Do anything that will keep you quit man, and screw the noise. Focus on the quit.
I'm Scott, and I approved this message.

I don't know anymoreÂ…after hearing from so many people struggling their first week, after two days I think I'm fine. I don't have the issues other people did. Maybe cuz I've only been doing it for 5 years.
It seemed easy the first time I quit after college. Didn't even give it a thought. Maybe I can just quit whenever I want toÂ…I dunno. Just starting to feel like I can't relate, other bro's are struggling more.

You must enjoy the good days. But you must be prepared to execute your quit plan when you get slammed by the NIC B. You will. And when she comes knocking you better be ready to shut her down.
You only stopped previously. You never quit. If you did you would not be here at day 2.
5 yrs. 25 yrs. 40 yrs. don't make a difference. You are an addict. You don't know something we don't and you aren't special. Quitting takes work, so be ready to battle.
ODAAT bro. Do you have a plan? Do you know what I'm talking about?

Maybe I'm just not fucking ready for all this. I'll ponder it over another beer.

Let me see if I'm reading this correctly...
You are not sure you're ready for this because it's too easy and you can't relate to those who are struggling, but need to ponder it over a beer?
You also somehow think you quit back in college, yet came here saying no more ever.
Addict logic 101, boys and girls.
If I were you, I'd put down that brewski before you let your inhibitions down and you let the nic bitch rape you, yet again.

Well I'll make sure to post or not tomorrow at 11:59pm pacific time just to be a fuckign dick.

In all honesty quitting is hard. If it were easy nobody would need ktc to quit. From personal experience I can tell you that in your first couple weeks you really should try to stay away from booze. I live my cold drink or two after work every night but I had to give it up for a while in the beginning. Drinking a cold beer always makes me think of dip because I always used to crack a cold beer and then put in a huge lipper of cope. So drinking is a big trigger. Early in your quit you should avoid as many triggers as possible. I quit with you today! You can do this!
-
Well I'll make sure to post or not tomorrow at 11:59pm pacific time just to be a fuckign dick.
Dude... Just stop.
We're trying to help you. Like it or not we see people like you come and go all the time and we can see failure before you even know that's where you're heading. Put the attitude away and pay attention... Your life is on the line. You realize that right?
We know what we're doing here so listen up...
-
Well I'll make sure to post or not tomorrow at 11:59pm pacific time just to be a fuckign dick.
Can you make it Eastern time. I'm in Michigan.
Seriously, why you turning so hostile? That's one of the traits of those who struggle.
If this is easy for you then just do what you said in your very first post. Go back and read it.
-
Guys I apologize. I'm trying to sit hear and convince myself that's it's ok for me to dip again because I'm "not as addicted as someone else."
I know that's bullshit.
I'm an addict of nicotine. Tonite was just my mind whispering, "just one more pinch Scott. You can always stop when you want to."
I think I'm starting to realize that physically I'm ok but mentally I'm a little F'ed up.
Nite, quitters.

Glad to see you made it through the night Scott. And you are correct, it is bullshit to think you are not as addicted as someone else. Addiction is addiction. You either are or you are not. You are, I am, we all are or we wouldn't be here.
I'll tell you this. I'm on day 7 and the first 4 days were all mental for me. Then the physical portion started to show itself. Just tough it out. Drink plenty of water, at least double your normal amount. Lay off the caffine and booze for a bit. Eat a good amount of protein and get some exercise. Anything you need to do to get past it. I look at some of the more established members of this site as the example that all this confusion and discomfort will go away. I truly believe that and you should to. We just have to be ready to cowboy up and fight.

5 years is a pretty long time. Certainly enough time to get addicted.
The thing is, years really don't matter. It's hard regardless.
Looks like you've accepted that now and are ready to quit.
Start posting role and making your daily promise not to use and get this quit started.
You don't have to do it alone. You have a bunch of guys who have been in your shoes yo guide you along. You can't find that kind of support any place else.
Time to stop looking back on how many years you used. It's time to focus on NOW and being quit.
You WILL do this.
Quit on...
-
Scott, back on March 4th I came on this site and made an intro, and by March 5th I was convinced that the KTC was filled with assholes, and that they had no idea what I was going through, I mean, how could they, they didn't know me! How dare they call me an addict, and why should I do what they are suggesting?
100+ days later I am posting on your intro, and am 111 days free of slavery. Seems like these folks know a thing or two about quitting......drink the Kool-Aid, and quit with us.

Welcome again Scotty.
Do or do not. There is no "try".
Bring it dude...bring your anger, your fucked up addict talk. That's what this site is all about. There is a ton to learn about our addiction. It takes time...read...humble yourself...read...listen...while you're doing all of this QLFEDD by:
posting roll
keeping your word
waking and repeating
Your life is worth fighting for, right?? It is up to YOU and you alone...it is your tongue and jaw...noone else will feel the knife cutting out the cancer.
I promise you that you're not a special butterfly...we are all addicts of the poison.
It gets better, but you have to own it, fight like hell, re-wire like a computer, want it more than life itself.
You really can do this...I dipped 30 years, 1-2 cans a day...24/7 wide open...no ninja shit, just plain ole dumbass dipping that cost me a lot. I am over 2 years quit with the KTC way.
If I can do this, so can YOU! It really is "all in our head". We are addicts, but we can "control" this addiction.
whadya say??

Scott what is going on here? If I'm reading between the lines correctly you almost caved yesterday, but didn't want to be held accountable on the site so you invented some story about how quitting was so much easier for you then the rest of us humps and you didn't want to use the site because you don't fit in?...Then at 4am EST you apologized and posted roll. Am I right? If not I have no idea what you are talking about. If I am right, stick with this, and don't flake out. First two weeks will be the toughest then it gets easier. Even if you feel it is easy now, it will get easier.

Hang in there Scott. I quit yesterday as well. I am just going to take it one day at a time. That is all any of us can do. I won yesterday. I don't ever want Skoal to win again. Fuck that bitch. I will win again today and so will you.
