I quit last night, threw away can and said time to grow A set and quit. I have battled Cope for well over 30 years. It has controlled my life, made me lie, sneak and hide just to get a fix. I know this will be toughest battle in my life, but its for my life is why I chose to battle head on with the Nic monster. I will listen to all advice and will give 101% to win my life back.
Thanks for all you do here,
Camshaft

Congratulations Camshaft, You have made a life changing (saving) decision. You will find the tools here to help you battle this addiction.
Please take a look at the welcome center:

Bottom line here
1. we don't "try to quit" here, we QUIT, we declare it each day and that's it, nicotine is off the table
2. post roll daily,YOU ARE IN THE MAY GROUP. Posting roll that is a promise to yourself and your group that you will not use, this is necessary accountability. An addict without accountability is a USER
3. reach out for support, get in the live chat, try to meet a few quitters in your group,
Prepare for several days of "suck". You can do this man. You already took an enourmous step......you signed up here.
I quit with you today. I sent you a PM, please respond if you need any help navigating the site.

Hey Cam, I just noticed that you joined the site in October. What gives man? Can you help me understand what's been going on since then? What group were you originally in?? I should be reading you HOF speech right now.

I signed up in October and sat around watching others quit as I was sitting back being weak with a lip full. Yesterday I decided its time to man up, so here I go.

Great choice Camshaft....great choice. My quit date was your sign up date. IG2H's advice...gotcha some good stuff there. Remember, no nic site. Some tools that can help: sugarless gum, shredded jerky, fake shit, seeks, jolly ranchers, etc. Exercise, drink metric shit tons of water, exercise, and more exercise. Then drink some more water. The movement and pissing will also help keep you distracted. PM me...I'll support ya in any way i can. I quit with you today.
and I gotta add a #4 to IG2H's list:
4) that .jpg ya have for an avatar? Make it a .gif with a mirror on the other side hahahahaha

By March 1, you are going to be so pissed at yourself for not quitting back in October.
-
Wedge is probably right but your gonna be damn glad every day from now on that you did quit! Like you I've been an addict for well over 30 years, more like 40! But that's behind me the important thing is the 308 days that I've made the promise and returned the next day to report my success and repeat the process. Pm me if you need anything.

I have loaded up on gum, hard candy, and sunflower seeds. I quit several times in last 30 yrs but wasn't strong enough to handle it, now I'm ready and have better attitude and now have group of quitters I need to be loyal to and give my word to. As Wedge says I'm going to be pissed I didn't quit in October, well that's true and honestly I'm mad for not quitting all the numerous I attempted to years ago. Nicotine has caused me to do stupid things just to chase that fix. But it's time to accomplish my goal and then help others quit. Thanks for the support.

Wedge and WT have a point about regret BUT......... there aint jack shit you can do about the past and forever is too far away. This thing starts NOW.
Just remember, we accomplish our goal one day a time. Post roll, keep your promise, rinse and repeat.
I quit with you today!!!!

Yes I'm really ready this time, I quit and will stay quit no more Nic for me!! My avatar is the teacher in Colorado that posted her pics on twitter, where were these teachers when I was in school? All my teachers had orthopedic shoes with baggy hose and gray hair. Yours may be hotter but mine does tricks while standing on her head. :P

Welcome to the quit camshaft. I am on Day 10. Never thought I would make it this far.
For what it's worth from a 10 day old quitter, here is how I made it through the first week: I posted roll first thing in the morning - like when I woke up at 3AM and couldn't sleep because the nic bug was biting. Or when I woke up at 9AM because the fatigue was killing me. When the desire to chew was really strong I ran into the chat room and yelled for help. There is also a blog you can post in for emergencies.
The anger and the withdrawal symptoms are tough. The first four days were the toughest, and I decided to take it just one moment at a time, just one craving at a time.
Now my cravings are still there but they aren't as strong. It is much easier to say no today than it was even two days ago.
But you have to choose to quit every time the urge strikes to chew.
Welcome to the fight!

Thanks Glock. Glad to hear it gets little better with time. I'm at 30 hours and the head is pounding and eyes playing tricks and no way can I sleep at this point. I will be getting my own Glock therapy tomorrow, squeez a few rounds may help me out.

There's not many things that a hundred rounds down range can't fix....
