Just joined the site last night. I am getting married in September and it's time to stop. My goal is to start on Saturday, I know it is going to be hard but I am excited and nervous at the same time. Any advice is appreciated. Also how is the fake chewi, does it help? Plan on picking up a can today.

Advice?
We don't "stop".
We Quit.
Huuuuge difference.
And...
Quit now.
Saturday is a pipe dream. Do you know how many of us said "tomorrow" time and time again? To an addict, which is what you/we are, tomorrow always breeds another tomorrow.
You wanna be really badass?... Do it now. Come Saturday you'll be 3 days clean instead of dreading its approach.
Don't worry about fake chew until you actually quit.
You can do this. So... do it now.

Throw out the cans of tobacco. Quit today. Go into the June group and post day 1. This is the last day for June. If you quit today your day 100 quit will fall in June.
How many times did I set myself up for a quit....

I "quit" every day for just under a year before I found this site.
And AJ and Brian have stated everything else that really needs to be said... quit now, planned quits and cutting back don't work.

I'm glad you changed your mind and decided to quit tonight. I'm in a pissy mood, and might have lost it with my reply.

Great decision man! Keep that promise that you made and make it again tomorrow.

Welcome to the Fraternity of Quit. My name is Jim; I've been nicotine-clean since 11/11/2016.
No need to be nervous. Physical withdrawal from tobacco generally lasts 72 hours. At that point, all nicotine is metabolized out of the body and withdrawal ends. However, this does not mean the addiction ends! We remain addicts forever, and we must remain nicotine-clean for the rest of our lives.
The mantra I use for cravings is 'Never Nicotine Now'. See, it's always now, right? It was now when I wrote this; it'll be now when you read this. So I never use nicotine now. Later is for God to worry about. Got a crave? Pray it up to the Supreme Deity as you understand Him to be, and stay nicotine-clean.
Insofar as fake chew is concerned, I think it's just silly. I know some guys need that stuff to stay quit, and I respect that. But for me, no thanks. It would just be a gateway back to the real thing in my case.
Please feel free to PM me anytime. I will always be happy to help.
Fraternally,
Jim H.

Some folks breeze through the first few days, others lose their minds. The one thing everyone has in common is that we all struggle at some point. Congrats on three days, but don't make the mistake of thinking that it will be smooth sailing the whole way through.
When times are going good, build some tools and connections that you will need when they are tough. Most of all, one day at a time.
