Well I said I would never be here again, but here I am. I have been living a lie for almost 7 years and hiding this addiction from those I love and care about. As with anything you try and hide, eventually it all comes out. Fortunately, I have been planning to stop this addiction for some time, just haven't had the guts to go through it again. That's right, I said AGAIN! 10 years ago, I fought this demon and won. I stayed clean for a few years and then fell off the wagon.
This is it. I am tired of being tied to this shit and living by its standard. I am bigger than this and know I will win!
I know that this site will be key to my success!

Great decision to come here to make this your one and only actual quit. You stopped for a long time before so you know what it's like to go through it. Like you, I am tired of being tied to this shit and was done living by nicotine's rules. That's why I quit 12 days ago, and every day since then I've done the same.
Read everything on the site you can get your hands on the first few days of your quit. It will help to know the battle we fight, and should help take your mind off the suck as we call it here.
Glad to have you aboard Wing, let's get to quitting.

Hey Wingmedic, great decision to post up today. I must have tried to quit a thousand times before finding this site. I used every method imaginable...except making a promise to quit every day to fellow quitters. I was terrified to post my first day. It meant I really was letting go of something I thought I needed to be happy and that I had relied on (or thought I did) for 17 years. Over time I learned to really hate the nic bitch and all the time and money she'd taken from me. I've now been quit for 189 days and owe it to this site and its members. If you post up every day, and focus on just that one day, you can kick the bitch to the curb and stay quit. Read as much as you can and embrace the suck. Proud to be quit with you man. If you ever need some help PM me.

38 year addict here. 206 day's of freedom. Outside of my family and God, best thing I've ever done for myself is find ktc and these badasses here to help me quit! I've struggled at my quit but I think to myself how hard would it be to tell my family I have cancer. So you see no matter how tough it gets, it's worth every damn second and day by day I'm in charge of my quit as long as I make my daily promise! I quit with you today!

Just a quick story on my quit. I woke up 53 days ago with quit not on the top of my list for the day. It was around 11 am and a co-worker told me about a job opening at a hospital where I work. I'm not employed by them just work there. So part of the hiring process was a swab test for the nic bitch. We'll I told myself, how bad do you want it. So I quit that day. Found KTC 7 days later after searching withdraw symptoms. Signed up, posted an intro and posted roll. Fucked it up of course so I disconnected thinking "oh shit" I just fucked up that roll. Came back a little later and it was fixed. Learned then the only way you can fuck it up is by not posting.
Well, a month later I found out I didn't get the job. I dipped for over 30 years and always wanted to quit but never had enough stones to stick with it.. Sure, quit for a day or two but that's about the extent of it. I could have bought A can that day and started back to the same shit that had been killing me for over 30 years but I made a promise to myself and to my brothers and sisters in my quit group that I would stay nic free. This site is the only way I can stay quit and I'd be damn if I had to come crawling back asking for forgiveness and haveing to explain why I'm such a bitch and not a man of my word.
Stay strong and I quit with you today.

- Yes.....I am an addict......I will win this battle....but part of that is knowing I will always be an addict.
- I am already trying to get some of the guys I work with to quit. Part of my mission moving forward will be to help others.

You are going to want to find a fix for the oral fixation, I would go straight to the snack aisle and grab your self some seeds, gum, mints, beef jerky, hard candies (never tried but people have found them helpful), and lastly make sure you are grabbing your b@!!$ and get ready to promise to me and everyone else in October that you're ready to take control of your life and get your own freedom back.
